Aww thanks so much for all the nice things!! I made the costume. the skirt is from a cheerleader pattern and I used one of her other shirts as a pattern for the top and just modified it a bit. Glad you like it.

Oh My yes! Haruhi is her absolute favorite character!! She has been begging me to make her that cosplay even before I made the Miku outfit. I finally brought the fabric for it and will be making it for her this summer. She has about outgrown the Miku so it is time for a new one anyway- lol. Thank you for you kindness- you are too nice

Oh No! I didn't think it rude really. I was just surprised that someone thought she was a boy is all. None of the boys her age that she knows would be caught dead in a skirt. We do see many really great "crossplayers" at cons and events here. Crossplaying is becoming more popular all the time, and yes I can now see how Maxine could be mistaken for a boy. Thank you for the nice comment- however we did not make the leek. It was a purchase from an online store called J-list of Japan. I did stick a piece of metal clothes hanger through it to make it stiff though. It is made of a squishy foam plastic.

wow thank you for the nice comment. Maxine has liked anime since she watched Sailor Moon when she was 3. So like most little girls she wanted to dress up like her fav characters. Her first was of course "Chibi Moon" I love making her costumes- Just wish she would stop growing out of them....

Hi there. I'll give you a tip on those boots. Maxine isn't really wearing boots. She is wearing adult size black knee socks with aqua ribbon pinned at the tops and a pair of aqua colored "crocks" that we colored the tops with a black sharpie marker. You can do it tooo!!!!!Just go for it!!!
