They are fun to drive, they handle really well, there is plenty of space for a small car, and if you go for the S, it is pretty quick. It is not a terrible car, it is very well built. I had a test car version of the S up to 125mph and it loved it - like it was on rails... so try one or shut yer yap.

Nope...a 2.0L is abpretty much the biggest you can get in the front. sure you could put a V8 in the back no problem, but its not designed for that and it wouldn't be the same.
The whine in second gear is a little like the original Mini....

The automatic version is 9.8 sec, I think a real world test is actually faster than that, probably 9.5 sec.

The published 0-60 MPH time for the standard Mini Clubman is 8.9 seconds, with the Clubman S at 7.2, and the Works Clubman at 6.5.
