Tom Tancreco makes a very good argument about illegals. Wouldn't it be nice to take all of the good points from all of the Republican candidates and combine them into one person?
It would be nice to see a little presidential backbone from at least one of the candidates in the form of a public statement supporting metrication.
We waste huge amounts of money every year (and lose more in lost business opportunities) by using two measurement systems. Our customary system is a difficult to learn mess in it's own right, but using two measurement systems is even worse than using one poor one.
It's time to finally finish the job and go metric.
Metric? I think we have a lot more serious problems in this country than switching to the metric system. Radical Islam wants to destroy our way of life, illegal immigrants are flooding across our borders, our public education system is a joke, and you're worried about the metric system? Are you freaking kidding me?
We lose about $1 trillion a year because of this silliness and you're telling me
it's a joke? Lost business, multi-hundred-million dollar errors (conversion
errors are common but usually not as spectacular as the Mars mission) and
wasting vast amounts of time/money dealing with two systems. This is costing us far more than immigration issues, it's just less obvious than a guy inhandcuffs. It's really time for us to finish the job and relegate our customary system to the annals of history.
This man speaks from a sincere and patriotic American heart. Don't be fooled by immitations, he is one and only real deal.
