  • ANOTHER ONE OF THE BEST:)))

  • I was stationed at Sauffley Field NAS in 1971 when this song was on the charts and it always made me think of a WAVE officer named Maggie McGarrett.

  • So nice this song. I was 14 in 1971, a very good time for me in East-Germany!

  • OFF TOPIC

    ABORTION IS MURDER

    TO JAIL WITH ABORTIONIST BITCHES

  • @sepoyoni48 wierdo

  • @sepoyoni48 you need help! your comments have fuck all to do with SIR Rod and his life experences.without being nasty your mum missed an abortion with you??? no??

  • Love the song and Rod's rendition here and elsewhere. But people should realise that this is an old Liverpool ditty sea shanty song sung by every sailor that ever went out through Canada Dock and Ellesmore Port etc etc in the 1940's & 1950's. OK , Rod & Co have jazzed up the words quite a bit but the melody remains true to the original song. I should know cos I sang it aboard Cunarders all through the 1950's. Best of luck Rod.....keep on belting it out !

  • @JohnJoeMack you is 100%right. but lets all rock on

You are defined as the Me generation, the sell out generation, the hippie to yippy, the selfish generation...the generation that brought free love and disease. There is your definition....wear it

  • this is an awsome song and Paul did it justice

  • Paul McDonald sang it better than Rod Stewart. I'm disappointed that he got kicked off from American Idol. I don't even want to watch American Idol any more.

  • @chowbigwah Rod Stewart did this song the best when it was first recorded I do agree Paul did a good job but Rod is #1 when it comes to Maggie May Thanks

  • @chowbigwah Paul did a good job he aint no Rod

  • Thank you for reminding of a very important part of my youth! Wow !!! Who is unable to totally embrace this singer and the whole era, as well?

    Love to all,

    Bridgette

    xoxooxo

  • okay...even though I grew up with this...its beyond gold...true class and classic. Very happy he's still going....LOL ... if I was in that audience Id be singing the song with him...gotta love it...thanks for the posting.

  • Awesome

  • What a timeless song! My fav..

  • It's such an amazing thing to see everyone in that audience singing together. Something really special there.

  • I think Paul Mcdonal is pretty cool. I have fun and happy times dancing and being silly with my sisters. there are songs that make me happy about my childhood and this is one. I grew up with some great memorable music.

  • I grew up listening his music !

  • @alesssandro78 I love Rod Stewart- in school a retarded guy would always sing the song if you want my body and you think im sexy to everyone-- i think it was the only song he knew-- I love Rod Stewart

  • @belziebub

I have thousands of good memories listening his music !

  • i look at it this way when he gets really older, all he has to do when he misses a word is just put the mic out to the crowded, and get the lyrics back to me that is the best part of making good music

  • @palletbitch Who is this silly little man?

  • Fab song still got it Rod

  • Paul McDonald did a great performance on American Idol and this will forever be one of my fav song from Rod Stewart

  • My boyfriend got on his knees the first time we met out for drinks !!! We are now married I love my man....

  • 0:17-0:32 ................. that's just awesome

  • @1996webby agreed. that was quite win.

  • Paul McDonald is wayyyyyy better

  • @pistonboy411 I like Paul McDonald, but it's dumb to say he's "better" than Rod Stewart. He wouldn't sing the way he does if not for Rod, and Rod's music is still holding strong after 40+ years.

  • Paul McDonald from American Idol sent me here!

  • @LMF02154 hahahah me to......lol

  • @LMF02154 YOU'RE SO GAY. Respect Rod Stewart as he is without degrading him by bringing some retarded, not to mention fixed, reality show into the comment bar.

  • rod is sexier at 50es that at 20es

  • Sorry about your loss. May Maggie enjoy your love forever.

  • One Of My Old Time Favorites..Thank You For Sharing And Rock on !>><<

  • Rod Is so hot, his children must be so proud

  • All you did was wreck my bed

and in the morning kick me in the head

You lured me away from home

just to save you from being alone

    You stole my heart

    I couldn't leave you if I tried.

I suppose I could collect my books and get back to school.

you guys know this song is about rape, right?

  • @watchthis23ny

no it is not. It's about an older woman and a young man, a boy. But is not about rape.

You can turn it into anything you want.

  • @watchthis23ny

    u r an idiot

  • @GmJ0113 do your research before you start calling people idiot, you retard

  • @watchthis23ny so uh, what "research" did you do? pick a verse from a song that actually doesnt even prove your retarded opinion? the other guy was right its an older woman and younger man. have you ever heard of a may december romance?

  • @GmJ0113 from an article titled 8 songs you didn't know were about rape: This song's been a staple of soft rock stations for years and seems like a pretty standard kind of a mind-gelatinizing love song, until you start wondering why Rod's singing about going back to school and maybe going home to his parents one day; The line about being lured away from home clinches the deal. Maggie is a lonely, lecherous old sex offender who apparently steals little boys with terrible haircuts and fucks them
