The problem with this country is the complete apathy of the democratic movements that have brought us out of the last century. The ruling elite succeeded in damping us down and flooding us with propaganda, it's so effective that you can't get Americans to protest (really protest) for things they've been asking for for decades (like universal healthcare) but you can get them to organize 'tea parties' for liberalizations to the benefit of their overlords.
Nader, ron paul, gravel,Kucinich.. all great true Americans.. If only they put em enough on tv people would know what they are about.. but sadly its a popularity contest..
yes ron paul is more libertarian than mike gravel in a traditional sense, lets face it. however, the libertarian party is alot more diverse than the republican and democrat party on issues like healthcare, for example. although gravel isnt as fiscally conservative as the quintessential libertarian, his idea of citizens making laws overrides his personal support for a liberal approach to health care(universal hc). therefore, his tenure with the libertarian party made perfect sense.

You should, because he is. Handing over 70% of the Earth to the 'authority' of unelected bureacrats in the UN, allowing the UN to impose taxes on American wages, and signing over more authority to the UN charter, which would override the U.S. Constitution is very UN-LIBERTARIAN indeed.
That crazy UN that is there to stop wars and warcrimes. They have saved 1.3 billion people. We should listen to their advice and engage with them. The fact you think Gravel would replace the Constitution with the UN charter shows you know nothing about Gravel. America has every right to deny something the UN wants to impose on us. No, clearly YOU are the delusional one because you are supporting a candidate that talks a good game but won't change a goddamned thing once he gets in the white house. You watch how quickly he starts helping corporate friends when he gets there (that's IF he gets there). You are being suckered by someone with good oratory skills and no substance.
It depends on whether you mean libertarian only as anti-authoritarian -- in which case Gravel, Paul, Kucinich, Nader, and the Green and Socialist candidates could all be considered libertarian -- or if you define libertarian as both anti-authoritarian AND capitalist, in which case only Paul qualifies.
Gravel and Nader are friends and they both appear to have great respect for each other. I'm not sure why Nader chose to run with Gonzales as there was some discussion amongst Gravel supporters about them running together. But, so be it. I'm sticking with Gravel.
which means he's bought and bossed by the corporations. Also he has said he wants to rebuild the military. Please, the military doesn't need to be rebuilt. It needs to be downsized. We need more teachers, nurses, doctors, child care workers, home builders, alternative energy and transportation workers, etc.
Obama isn't pure evil and I think he understands lot of the issues that matter to me better than Clinton or McCain, but at the same time it's infuriating to me how he refuses to take a stand on gay rights, ending the war, abolishing the Patriot Act, and so on.
I'm just tired of voting for a candidate who only stands for about half of what I stand for, if that, and that's why I'm considering voting for a third-party candidate like Gravel or Nader.
If the candidates are entrapped in the Democratic or Republican coating/shell, they can't deliver. They are bought and owned. At this point, I can't see how anyone except a fool would vote for anyone in either the Dem or Rep party. If they got us in this mess, they didn't fix it in 2006, are a few fresh faces going to fix it in 2008? Hell, no! Mr. Gravel offers us the National Initiative. Who else comes bearing the truth and such a gift? Only Mr. Gravel. Are you smart enough, brave enough?
Me too. I got very involved last presidential election, even making calls on behalf of Kerry and everything. It was frustrating then and it's frustrating now that the Dems just are totally ineffective at everything. They no longer represent the values they say they do, they can't run a political campaign to save their lives and then they don't do what they say once they get in office (except for Kucinich). Go Gravel. You have my vote! :-)
gravel is the BEST man running! hands down! obama is a crook, clinton is a scam, and mccain is lame! i believe in women's rights, gay rights and the right to smoke (like in alaska) there is no good reason to vote for anyone else!
with a name like nevermind, I can tell that your quite the "Positive" person... Um nevermind,LOL
what I do believe is that you have too much time on your hands, and you're very mean spirited. Or have no clue as to what is going on in OUR Country... wake up
and remember I hope all will particiapate in Mass donation week april 15-22nd WE have to get Mike into office :)
She seemed to indicate a third party candidate could hurt a Democratic candidate but not a Republic candidate... A third party candidate, Ross Perot, hurt George Bush, Sr. in 1992. McCain is used to scare people into voting Democratic just as Bush was used to scare people into the Democratic pen. Vote them out, vote third party...
Its such a travesty that people can't see that he's the genuine article. I like Obama and Clinton, as people, but Gravel is maybe the only politician that I've ever actually trusted.
Part 2:If Congress does something terrible as they have, we can overturn it. Likewise, if we were to do something awful, Congress could overturn it. We are a mutual check. We need this check on Congress. We need this power. I'll never vote for another....when I saw him standing there with this political gift. We just have to accept it.
Part 1:BonzoGal1980: You get it. Now we just need to convince about 50 million people to vote for peace and a new economy based on our real needs and energy independence. I would only have to have one reason to vote for Mr. Gravel, he will get troops out in 120 troops, stop the wars and work on peace. But he comes with much more: The National Initiative which will allow all of us to vote on making the rules.
I admire the man for his bluntness, because he is absolutely right: McCain will nuke Iran the day after his inauguration, Obama and Hillary are far too willing to go back on their promise and exploit the Iraq war for their own financial/political gain. Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting evil, so I rather hear Mike supporting himself.
I will support Mike all the way about the media manipulating the public, but I will not support his absurd attitude. Let's try to be reasonable. If Mike really wants his message to be heard, he NEEDS to change his attitude. I can understand that all of you hard core supporters appreciate his...passionate attitude, but for someone outside the loop it really looks like he's making a fool of himself.
You sound absurd. Do you want him to pretend that he is less qualified than Obama and Hillary? The interviewer made a fool of herself. Maybe instead of quelling his passion, other people need to grow a spine.
I know I got a few of those brochures at home when I was Democrat before the party excluded Mike Gravel from the people's consideration (as opposed to the Democratic party leadership consideration). Lots of pictures of Obama and many promises. Unfortunately, he's running for President not Congress. He doesn't control Congress. We can bypass Congress with Mike Gravel's National Initiative. We can MAKE the kind of changes and more that Obama can only TALK about.
that question was only posed to ron paula nd him no one else. during the year of the primaries hillary no obama nor mccain were asked if they wopuld support ron paul or mike gravel if they won the nomination
Yes, the media tries to "trick" the candidate into throwing support to another contender. The candidates who are asked that question are more intelligent than the questioner and the question but that doesn't stop the dumb media from continually asking the same question.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
One that lady promised to ask Hillary, Obama, Mcain the same question. There was no reason why Gravel could not answer the question. She did not ask who Gravel would support, only who he would rather see. Two, I would understand if the main candidates didn't get asked that question. Its not realistic considering that they are the likely next president of the US. Its a moot question nobody cares about.
He is a great man. Be great with Ron Paul. But Tv Watchers are beyond insane. They would rather rape their own mothers than disobey their elite masters. That is the foundational reasoning behind the New World Order. All intellectuals agree the masses are slave cattle. Some argue: they can be fixed. Or others they cant be. Not even the intellectuals who defend the cattle think they have half a mind. It is their hope the mindlessness can be reversed; I doubt that

LOL so funny SUCKS that he has no fucking chance in HELL ALIENS will invaded earth and we humans will all grow wings and magical unicors will run around the sky before this guy is elected president but we can all dream lol
What's crazy? Taking a stand against the system? Not giving up? I see a lot of people whining about the corrupt political system, but when someone actually tries to do something about it, he's called crazy. It's better to point and laugh and say it can never be done. More like we live in a crazy world.
It's not his ideas I was calling crazy, just his personality. Claiming that he's going to become president? I mean, as long as you're even slightly in contention it's fine to be that confident, but it ruins someone's credibility when they say things that far fetched.
i see many people have realized that we need more politicians like Mike Gravel and Ron Paul, Kucinich and McKinney. like that pepsi commercial, WAKE UP PEOPLE.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He's just a third party whore. He endorsed the Green Party candidate already, and then comes out saying that he'll be on the Libertarian Party ticket. It's ridiculous!
You're ridiculous. He's trying to unite the third parties and stop the 2 party domination in US politics. Just about any 3rd party candidate would be better than Hillary, Obama or McCain.
Gravel, Kucinich, McKinney, Nader, and Paul...thank you for not selling out...thank you for fighting to reclaim this nation for the people...thank you for offering us something other than the status quo.
Karen DePodwin, I have a question for you. If the anchor position you now have doesn't work out for you, which of your rivals would you support for your present position? Oh, honey, don't be upset. I wasn't making an assumption. I was just asking the question...
George Stephanopoulos Asked Mike the same question mounts ago. I dont know much about Stephanopoulos but i think he is douch bag. Well, mabey I'm being too nice.
After watching how the media has ruined any chance of a fair election(Dennis k., Mike G., an Ron P.), I think we all would be better off with NO major news media. I would vote for Ron Paul because of his voting record but Mike Gravel tells it like it is also. Canada, here I come.
The National Initiative bypasses Congress so we don't have to wait for them to act anymore. You can vote online for the National Initiative without waiting in line or paying for a stamp. ni4d us
What are you talking about. She verbally assulted him. The question she asked was obscene. She slaped him in the face then tried to back peddal her way out of it.
Does someone pay you to not only post crap on candidate's videos, but also to follow their supporters around and post crap on their videos - even the non-political ones?
or do you do that just because you are a pathetic little man?
America is in the throes of class warfare and we, the people, are losing to the elite class, corporate America and wealthy/powerful special interest groups
I like Gravel and would like to see him in the white house more than any other currently running candidate. However, as his chances of winning are slim to none he should not run and take votes away from the democratic nominee. People will only be less accepting of him in the future. Take Nader as an example, the first time he ran I was happy for him, the second time I was a little perturbed about the fact that he helped Gore loose and now, the third time, Im just angry that he's running at all.
Saying that he should not run is undemocratic! The process of voting for the lesser of the 2 evils, democrat over republican, has allowed the Democratic Party to become just as corrupt as the Republican Party. In a true democracy, there is more than 2 candidates and the people vote for who best represents them and not who the media tells them to vote for.
I agree that that we have fallen victim to a two party system and that we would be better off if we had several different viable candidates to vote for. However running just to make a point and by doing so increasing the chance of McCain winning is absurd. The only way it would be possible to have more than two candidates would be if the right had a candidate that took votes from the republican front runner aswell. I mean its nice to have a bunch of good people to vote for unless they all loose.
I'm not sure the Men Behind the Curtain particularly care which of the major candidates will win. They are all the same, and will produce the same results: We The People will get shafted.
The only hope is to support the likes of Ron Paul, or Mike Gravel.
Money or capital has corrupted politics. Money or capital is loyal to itself. Money/capital also has no country and no real loyalty to any country in case you haven't figured that out yet. That's why it was OK to gut the Soviet Union with a fake cold war that enriched the military industrial complex and to do the same thing to the USA with fake war on terrorism. Halliburton is now located in Dubai.
I agree completely, Mike. Soon, zero-point energy and electrogravitic propulsion are going to come out, "free" and green energy. The elites have attempted to suppress this since the 50's, and it is going to come out very soon, ending their power trip from their oil monopoly. I look forward to ALL nations in this world standing straight and strong economically. It's very empowering to the world.
Ultimatly I do aggree with you. But I am outraged enough to put that aside.
We have a 2 party system because 2 simmilar candidates running aginst each other, drown each other allowing a diffrent type of canidiate take the highest # of votes. Instant run off voting would allow that to change. We despratly need instant run off voting or we will keep the 2 party system forever.
We live in a Mediaocracy controlled by the corporate fascist elite. Democrats and Republicans are one in the same party. They both support corporate fascism. Do not get me wrong there are a few that see outside the box but not more than a hand full.
Obama = Clinton = McCain = more of the same death, destruction, poverty.
Gravel is trying to pull the plane up people. National Initiative. Replacing income tax with fair tax. End to Drug War. End to Middle East wars and turmoil. Friendly, cooperative, mutally supportive foreign policy. Domestic entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity. 21st century transportation (maglev trains). 21st century energy sources (windmills for electricity). You choose: more tragedy or brighter future.

Gravel and Nader are friends and they both appear to have great respect for each other. I'm not sure why Nader chose to run with Gonzales as there was some discussion amongst Gravel supporters about them running together. But, so be it. I'm sticking with Gravel.

Omer698 3 years ago 2
obama is against the unbridled power of corporations and corruption in washington, but he's funded by them.
aewester 3 years ago
which means he's bought and bossed by the corporations. Also he has said he wants to rebuild the military. Please, the military doesn't need to be rebuilt. It needs to be downsized. We need more teachers, nurses, doctors, child care workers, home builders, alternative energy and transportation workers, etc.
gravelin08 3 years ago
Obama isn't pure evil and I think he understands lot of the issues that matter to me better than Clinton or McCain, but at the same time it's infuriating to me how he refuses to take a stand on gay rights, ending the war, abolishing the Patriot Act, and so on.
I'm just tired of voting for a candidate who only stands for about half of what I stand for, if that, and that's why I'm considering voting for a third-party candidate like Gravel or Nader.
Filby 3 years ago
If the candidates are entrapped in the Democratic or Republican coating/shell, they can't deliver. They are bought and owned. At this point, I can't see how anyone except a fool would vote for anyone in either the Dem or Rep party. If they got us in this mess, they didn't fix it in 2006, are a few fresh faces going to fix it in 2008? Hell, no! Mr. Gravel offers us the National Initiative. Who else comes bearing the truth and such a gift? Only Mr. Gravel. Are you smart enough, brave enough?
gravelin08 3 years ago
The only one who still delivers is Kucinich (and maybe Wexler and Waxman). The rest, eh, not so much.
DebbieKat 3 years ago

Vote them out, vote third party...
gravelin08 3 years ago 3
Its such a travesty that people can't see that he's the genuine article. I like Obama and Clinton, as people, but Gravel is maybe the only politician that I've ever actually trusted.

Part 2:If Congress does something terrible as they have, we can overturn it. Likewise, if we were to do something awful, Congress could overturn it. We are a mutual check. We need this check on Congress. We need this power. I'll never vote for another....when I saw him standing there with this political gift. We just have to accept it.
gravelin08 3 years ago
Part 1:BonzoGal1980: You get it. Now we just need to convince about 50 million people to vote for peace and a new economy based on our real needs and energy independence. I would only have to have one reason to vote for Mr. Gravel, he will get troops out in 120 troops, stop the wars and work on peace. But he comes with much more: The National Initiative which will allow all of us to vote on making the rules.
gravelin08 3 years ago
I admire the man for his bluntness, because he is absolutely right: McCain will nuke Iran the day after his inauguration, Obama and Hillary are far too willing to go back on their promise and exploit the Iraq war for their own financial/political gain. Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting evil, so I rather hear Mike supporting himself.
BonzoGal1980 3 years ago 4
good for him!

I will support Mike all the way about the media manipulating the public, but I will not support his absurd attitude. Let's try to be reasonable. If Mike really wants his message to be heard, he NEEDS to change his attitude. I can understand that all of you hard core supporters appreciate his...passionate attitude, but for someone outside the loop it really looks like he's making a fool of himself.
whoatherejohnny 3 years ago
You sound absurd. Do you want him to pretend that he is less qualified than Obama and Hillary? The interviewer made a fool of herself. Maybe instead of quelling his passion, other people need to grow a spine.

Obama hasn't taken Nukes off the table. Even this suggestion should shock you.
But he has a great charismatic attitude. You know like brochure. Pretty pictures, but it doesn't tell you anything about the product.
waveoflight 3 years ago 2

TheShock3r 3 years ago 3
Yes, the media tries to "trick" the candidate into throwing support to another contender. The candidates who are asked that question are more intelligent than the questioner and the question but that doesn't stop the dumb media from continually asking the same question.

What's crazy? Taking a stand against the system? Not giving up? It's not his ideas I was calling crazy, just his personality. Claiming that he's going to become president? I mean, as long as you're even slightly in contention it's fine to be that confident, but it ruins someone's credibility when they say things that far fetched.

Spasticinformation 3 years ago
If anything, you should be more outraged at the Democratic Party...
ChannelMikeG 3 years ago 4
Saying that he should not run is undemocratic! The process of voting for the lesser of the 2 evils, democrat over republican, has allowed the Democratic Party to become just as corrupt as the Republican Party. In a true democracy, there is more than 2 candidates and the people vote for who best represents them and not who the media tells them to vote for.
wentrikin 3 years ago 2
I agree that that we have fallen victim to a two party system and that we would be better off if we had several different viable candidates to vote for. However running just to make a point and by doing so increasing the chance of McCain winning is absurd. The only way it would be possible to have more than two candidates would be if the right had a candidate that took votes from the republican front runner aswell. I mean its nice to have a bunch of good people to vote for unless they all loose.
Spasticinformation 3 years ago
1. The men behind the curtain have already decided which major candidate will win. Voting machines are too easy to program in advance.
2. a vote for Gravel, or other small party candidates may come as a total suprise and actually show up.
gmfutube 3 years ago
I'm not sure the Men Behind the Curtain particularly care which of the major candidates will win. They are all the same, and will produce the same results: We The People will get shafted.
The only hope is to support the likes of Ron Paul, or Mike Gravel.
lastnymleft 3 years ago 3
Money or capital has corrupted politics. Money or capital is loyal to itself. Money/capital also has no country and no real loyalty to any country in case you haven't figured that out yet. That's why it was OK to gut the Soviet Union with a fake cold war that enriched the military industrial complex and to do the same thing to the USA with fake war on terrorism. Halliburton is now located in Dubai.
gravelin08 3 years ago 2
I agree completely, Mike. Soon, zero-point energy and electrogravitic propulsion are going to come out, "free" and green energy. The elites have attempted to suppress this since the 50's, and it is going to come out very soon, ending their power trip from their oil monopoly. I look forward to ALL nations in this world standing straight and strong economically. It's very empowering to the world.
tuieqlsss 3 years ago
Ultimatly I do aggree with you. But I am outraged enough to put that aside.
We have a 2 party system because 2 simmilar candidates running aginst each other, drown each other allowing a diffrent type of canidiate take the highest # of votes. Instant run off voting would allow that to change. We despratly need instant run off voting or we will keep the 2 party system forever.
