  • okay I have this laptop the lenovo x61 and my speakers stopped working all of a sudden and I don't know why....help?

  • God bless Vista and all who sailed with her through stormy seas.

  • i have the x201 tablet

  • that's not a thinkpad, it has a widescreen, WIDESCREEN!!! THINKPADS CANNOT HAVE A WIDESCREEN!!! LENOVO KILLED THE IBM THINKPAD

  • Whatever it is.. I love all tablets!

  • I want to have it... Waaa!! I want to draw k-on!!

  • I'm a university student interested in purchasing a tablet for under $1500. I'm switching to PC from mac, and I'm interested in getting something that will run smoothly.

I've found lenovo's webpage to be somewhat difficult to navigate. Is the x201 the newest version of the company's tablet line? Will there be a new tablet coming out soon that will be worth waiting for?

  • @dvshaked The X201(t) series has just been released. So it's the latest you can get. There won't be a successor for at least 1,5 years! I would recommend to get the predecessor, the X200 tablet. The only difference between the two models is the all new and fancy core i7 processor and chipset vs. the Core 2 Duo SL9600. Of course the i7 is a lil bit fast, but in a ultra mobile notebook like this one you really won't need the extra power. I just bought a X200 tablet 7450-65G a couple of days ago.

  • @dvshaked if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

  • I have X61 tablet and I'm extremely happy with it, I write all my university lecture notes on there, because it's very light, portable, good battery life (3+ hours on 8 cell) and best digital pen experience. After a 1.5 years of operation the hard drive developed 3 bad sectors (it's not a biggie really, it worked fine), but I phoned lenovo and I got a new HDD next day , with Lenovo programs it took a couple of hours to reinstall everything. x200 is also good, but not enough to upgrade just yet.

  • so you can use it for drawing on it or doing computer art? o:

i think i want one XD lol

  • Who does use the mousepad anyway? i have a fujitsu-siemens tablet, and i never use the mousepad. It just takes up space.

  • would you say its good for taking notes in class?

  • Simon - they stopped making them as IBMs, they are still thinkpad. That's why they have "Thinkpad" on them.

  • If you can't affford one of these the great alternative is the x41 for like $300 Dollars. I own both and I use the x41 more than the 61 because of Xp and also it runs very smooth in windows 7. So give the x41 a try its basically a replica but with different features inside ..

  • where can you get a tablet? Ebay??

  • I am thinking of buying one of those refurbished for like $800 or a Redistributed one for $951-2g 1.6ghz 160gb 7200rpm

  • - @ createwithnate -

The X6 ultrabase adds a DVD drive, ports etc. You can get them for less than $200 or you can just use any USB type external DVD or CD drive. I think for $99 you can get the Apple slot load drive, it's nice. Sellers will say the box is sealed, but when they offer a larger drive or more memory they open the box to install, hence your seal is broken and you can't really verify it's NEW. Request they ship those items out seperately.

Have fun with it! I enjoy mine a lot

  • You can get them new on eBay for about the same price. When you purchase, get a nice case from these guys.

Remove the spaces in the URL above, it's the only way I could post a URL.

If you run across a multi-touch model, it doesn't work like the iPhone multi-touch. It simply will work with the stylus or your finger but not both. It can only identify one source of input on the screen.

Think about getting the X6 Ultrabase.

  • looks sturdy, unlike my hp tx2z

  • who are you talking to? who is "you"

the tablet is great. Theres no other tablet i would have rather bought at the time. (now i wouldn't mind the replacement version of it)

  • :( i want one hopefully i will MAYBE get one in january :)

  • its costs 999 euro in germany...

  • i was gonna say that is cheap, then I read euros

  • What would the avg price be ?

    just curious :)

  • 1100? i would say.

  • ha i am watchin this on my tablet same one

    :)

  • Lucky. :) Only rich people who like gagets can afford this, i wouldnt mine one but only when my drawing skills is better :)

  • some universities make you have one by adding it to their admission fee.

  • how big is the screen

  • @golfstud11 Ditto

  • I'm an incoming college freshman in the fall and I am interested to buy a tablet PC. I wish to use for note-taking and for outdoor activities. I'm in a crossroads of either choosing a HP tx2500 or a Lenovo X61. They both sound good. But what would you guys recommend? Thanks

  • me and my brotherboth bought the x61 tablet is works well for taking notes. were both medical students and trust me we get notes like crazy. i recomend it over hp anyday

  • hp is great for students needs and their tablet is awesome and so is lenovo. i definitely recomend the lenovo for outdoor activities though because the hp has a terrible screen with tons of glare if you do wish to get an hp though because lenovo can get pricy i reccomond the 2730p elitebook still about 1600 but not as expensive

  • Does this one come with those cool pens ??

or is it a touchscreen ?

  • Touchscreen :D

  • Both.

  • is there a secret touchpad included someplace?

  • i believe it is a touch screen

  • lenovo likes to use what they call a trackpoint (that lil red thing in the middle of the keyboard) in place of a touchpad

  • very good performace,I love all Lenovo think pad

  • soooo..

how does it preform with GNU/Linux?

  • Very minimaly,HELLO,THIS IS A VISTA TABLET PC,NOT A LINUX TABLET PC and does linux support those pens? :P

  • If you think a foundation block is cute then you;ll like this. I just returned mines that I had for 3 days. UGLY, old school design. I am getting the Toshiba.

  • Better title: "ThinkPad X61 Tablet PC- 60 second demo (May'07)"

  • Nice and sexy. I love how the applelites say the thinkpads look dull. not,

  • lol that tablet isn't worth the extra money...

  • I got mine, and love it. I ordered mine with 1 dimm of 1 gig of ram and bought another stick of 2 gig ram off of newegg for around 100 bucks, opposed to ordering the system with the 3 gigs from factory; it saved me around 300 bucks. It runs vista ultimate great with the 3 gigs. Great battery life too.

  • I was thinking of getting this but the screen is kinda small at 12 inches. I am probably going to go with the t61.

  • hMM.. i'M getting one for my bday which is tommorrow, but I think we're going to order in tommorrow. Quick question : Is this consider the best Tablet Pc out right now???

Or is the Toshiba Tablet pc better???

  • HECK YES! GO WITH LENOVO!!!

  • just ordered mine, cant wait. there are some awesome sales going on for father's day, check out lenovo . com

  • I ordered one. I can't wait to see the SuperView SXGA+ screen quality (especially in bright environments). The Intel Turbo Memory has set some rediculous bench marks on gottabemobile dot com. I just wish there were more videos/inkshows showing the X61 in detail.

  • Nice... I so want one!
