Whoa, I remember this song from when he sang it in the Doctor Kildare series - episode(s) where he fell in love with surfer girl Yvette Mimieux...wish I could see it again!
hello still love you richard, have done since I was 10 and watched you in Leatherhead with a friend called Anne Foreman, am now 58 last week, but still think you are great.
Dr. Kildare was a top TV program during the classic age of TV. Very good stories and the medical aspects were well thought out and based on realistic medical pathology and diagnosis. I remember a case of Pheochromocytoma which Dr. Kildare diagnosed against more senior opinions. By coincidence I just included this in a medical test I just gave.
He has many famous movies: Shogun, Quatermain with the in the past not really polular Sharon Stone, The Slipper and the Rose (where he played the prince and sang his parts himself), the 3 Musketiers, The Thorn Birds, Count of Monte Christo, and much much more, not to forget his musical roles, like Scroodge, my fair Lady, God still bless you Richard in Hawaii with your partner!
thanks so much Jettie66! i am delighted to watch your post! richard chamberlain will always stay for me father ralph...do you know where i could find the thorn birds-missing years? i'am afraid of not having found this movie on the net for the moment :(
Great video love his voice. I was 17 when the Thorn Birds was broadcast in UK. Still love it today. Had a look on amazon for his music no luck. I understand he is now playing the King in Spamalot in the USA lucky them.
Oops! The episode was called: 'Tyger, Tyger'. It was a two-parter. Yvette suffered from epilepsy and loved to surfboard. She was warned not to anymore due to her condition; she didn't listen, and dies after surfing.
jsbach, I thought he sang this to Yvette Mimeiux in the episode of 'Tiger, Tiger'. She and the doc were very much in love; but she dies. About Diana Hyland; she and John Travolta were lovers and she died of cancer-while in his arms. He was quite young; she being about 40 years older than him.
I like this handsome man Richard Chemberlain with his so wonderful voice and romantic songs since I've seen the Thorn birds for the first time 20years ago...
RC has been one of my favourite actors since THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, SHOGUN and THORN BIRDS. I've only recently found out that he has an operatic voice. I wish I knew that before. He is a tremendously talented man, indeed, a real cornerstone. Thank you so much for posting this video.
Incidentally, Richard Chamberlain was a popular TV actor on a show in the early 60's called Dr Kildare. "Three Stars Will Shine Tonight" was another of his hits. It was revealed that he is (was?) gay...
richard chaimberlain is a very handsome man i love the thorn birds hes 78 now i think and still handsome im 28 and hes my fave actor any one see the film tchaikovsky its fantastic what a beautiful face richards got my mother in law fancied him
This is my favorite Richard Chamberlain song. I remember seeing him sing this song for the very first time, on a Dr. Kildare episode, starring the late Diana Hyland. Her name was Lili and she was dying. He sang this song to her while they sat under a tree. That's all I remember.
I had this album in high school in the '60s and I loved this beautiful song. My mother would yell "Turn that record player up louder so I can hear it, too!"
I LOVE it .....thanks so much!
