And this is a clean video. Take a first aid or EMT class. You get to see some really sloppy pics...nasty stuff. There is a debriefing for the rescuers after every incident if they or a collegue feels they need it. When it comes to kids and animals though, even the debriefings seem to do little. Many rescuers lose their families due to job related stress. It's really sad.
I can't deal with blood up-close, so those kind of classes are off-limits to me. I do, however, commend anyone with the cojones to take on those professions.
not to say that you get used to it, but you sort of learn to put the emotional side of things in the back of your mind. ive been a firefighter/emt for 3 years, and one of pa's most dangerous highways runs through our dispatch area, you learn. but no doubt, it is haunting.
at 80MPH you dont have a very large reaction window to something like a guy running across the road at the wrong time. And... they left the guy laying there because its illegal to move someone injured like that because you could kill them if they arnt dead or injure them more. At least its that way around here. I also dont see any driveways. That looks like some places in Miami where the streets are higher speed. Just my thoughts. i coudl be wrong.
