That was a text book landing. Runway wet condition. Airbus a330 landing is meant to have triple touchdown on landing. first by aft main wheel bogey, then the forward main wheel bogey followed by the nose wheel.
Actually, the single chime "Bing" indicates Autothrust was disconnected. The Triple-Click or tick-tick-tick is an alert advising the pilots of a mode change on the FMA or Flight Mode Annunciator located on the top portion of the Primary Flight Displays. In this case, the triple-click is sounded because of a downgrade in the ILS Approach capability from CATIII to CATI due to Autothrust and Autoflight being disconnected on short final.
official language is english. the pilots are talking to each other in german but the communication with the tower is always in english. it's germany, not france!
Cat 3 dual means the autopilot has been set up for an autoland yeah. The dual means that both autopilots, as the aircraft has two, have been selected. To initiate an autoland both autopilots must be selected. But yeah you're right. It is in autoland.
Where was this flight from?

I am not very sure, but I heard the captain say "big ass" at 6:29. I could be wrong as this was in German. I love Germans.

Yeah, he planted her a bit firmly on that one after the last minute centerline correction.
Still, beautiful bird.
I have 8 hours or so on NWA's level D Airbus simulators. They are a dream to fly. True masterpieces of human ingenuity.

through the camera it may look rough, but it's normal that it shakes when the plane touches the ground.
Flow198812 2 years ago

If you look at the E/WD, you can see 2 engines, so its an A330. ;)

Do they use autopliot on approach?
mdudes 5 years ago
Yes they do, but they disconnect it at 400 feet.Approach mode, localizer, glide Slope, dual AP.
Cedarjetboy 5 years ago
It said CAT3 dual on the Cap's prime, isnt it in autoland?
jurruk 5 years ago
actually in a330 it is better to do an auto land and full autopilot approach.
abdzibdeh 4 years ago
Cat 3 dual means the autopilot has been set up for an autoland yeah. The dual means that both autopilots, as the aircraft has two, have been selected. To initiate an autoland both autopilots must be selected. But yeah you're right. It is in autoland.
