Thanks, Shawoo, After teaching her to stand still. I just placed the box behind her and hopped on. Eventually she'd back up to wherever I was standing. They are sooo smart. I've taught her about a dozen other simple tricks but this is the one my son posted. Thanks !
Hi ! "Rosie " was my old 1st 400 lb. donkey from Mr. Veeck., donated from Santa's Village for his "Ragtime ' promotion. She died in "85. Mandy was a "rescue" donkey I acquired 6 years ago at the age of six. She's a larger 600 lbs. THANK YOU for asking. ... Nance p.s. and thanks, Eric, for posting this video.
@nancyfaustjenkins Thanks for the clarification, Nancy. Sorry about the misinformation. I had read the article in the Sun-Times about you and from it I thought that Mandy was the one from Ragtime Night, not Rosie. My bad. I don't think they ever mentioned Rosie in that article.
Mandy was a leftover door prize when Bill Veeck had Ragtime Night in 1976...a game which I had attended with my father against the New York Yankees. After bolting out to a 7-run lead thanks to a 7-run first inning, the Yankees came back to win 9-7...as the game was called after 8 innings on account of rain.
Well, after over 35 years of entertaining Sox fans with her organ chops at the old and new White Sox ballparks, I did not even know that Nancy had a donkey. I guess the donkey thing happened when former White Sox broadcaster Harry Caray had his signature friend and the famous catch phrase, "Holy Cow!". During the 1970s, I believed that Haray on the mic and Nancy on the organ at the Old Sox Park (Comiskey Park) may have been a perfect match....

Very neat trick! I have a hard enough time teaching my dog a simple trick, not sure where i would begin with a donkey.
