  • by the way, im at 3:39 yelling cro mags into the camera! we were supposed to yell "iron skulls" cause that was the cro mags fake name for the movie

  • @DaveMourning haha that's so badass bro. You were lucky as fuck to see them in their prime

  • i was at this "show". They had a raffle and big Charlie (RIP) won a hairdryer and got pissed cause he was skinhead and smashed it! Hilarious! it was also fun fucking with the actors cause they def were not into hardcore music.

  • I worked on the crew of this film, and a lot of people got hurt during the filming of this scene. One in particular, was paralyzed from a stage diver breaking his neck. I was the one who followed him to the hospital and stayed with him until we knew the extent of his injuries. I just want to clarify some of the posts on here from that day...yes, it was filmed at The Ritz, yes we fed the extras, and no, we didn't give out pot to ANYBODY! I'm not saying it wasn't around, but not from us.

  • I saw these guys around this time period with Ludichrist at a club I believe was called Streets. I think it was in New Rochelle NY. My memory doesn't work like it used to but I do remember at the end of the show, the house system started playing Malmsteen and my buddy Van turned around and said "this fuckin' sucks" and then he grinned and threw up on my cousin. Those were great days.

  • Was this from a show at the Rock Hotel with 7 Seconds?

  • I think the guy at 1:48 isn't feeling so good.

  • I'm jealous of every person in this video

  • This is brutal

  • where i can see the whole movie??????

  • The movie's called "The Beat"

  • What movie is it?

  • Thrash so invented the stage dive.

  • I was at this shoot...it took place at what used to be the Ritz and is now know as Webster Hall

  • That pit.....just gives me a raging erection....

  • I have to agree with PRETALIATION, that guy is NOT Steele at all, look at 1.25 completely different person! And yes, he is the same guy who appears at 2.37.

I think there's nothing more to say

  • FUcking sweet! What a show that would have been

  • what venue is that? looks like irving plaza before the many renovations,

  • @xtimx2 The Ritz on 11th street is the locale for almost all the shots.

  • I can't believe it, it's Peter Steele at 2:35 or so!

  • @GuiltyInnocenceX - Another blind fool. Oh are you are the jerk off who told my friend termini and I to ''mind our business' regarding the theft of Peter's car ?

Where is his tattoo dummy ?

  • cro mags en chile 2010

  • i just saw them at this place at the bnb bowl, fucking amazing. john joseph still has the energy of what he had back in the day.

  • at 3:06, i'm pretty sure someone is screaming "aaaah my f'n EYE!"

  • they actually did

  • ahahaah

    so fucken true

  • i think the dude holding that girl at 2:34 is pete steele from type o negative

  • @slantyrock You are a fool and blind. First off the guy isn't nearly tall enough and secondly he has no tattoo on his left arm where Peter had one.

Peter didn't do video extra work - He worked Parks Dept. and was rocking full force with CARNIVORE.

    Get glasses

  • @PRETALIATION lol easy there buddy, this was 86, how do you know pete had the tattoo at that time. also he said in an interview he used to go see hardcore bands and was a fan of the mags just because he was in carnivore and worked in a park doesn't mean he can't go to see a band play, LOL, and his hair was that length around 1986. what does it matter anyway, i still think its him and you have come on here ranting at people like a little upset child, fucking idiot hahaha.

  • @slantyrock Eat shit blind boy. Some of us were THERE in '86 and don't need interviews.

Yeah - this has really upset me terribly - Dunno how I'll sleep at night after a useless bag of protoplasm like you has fired such a withering broadside.

    DIE

  • @PRETALIATION you're funny. i'm guessing you are at least 30, and are ranting like a little disturbed psychotic emo lol. you provide good entertainment so that's a positive.

    LIVE, (pffft)

  • @slantyrock I'm over 40 years old and definitely psychotic.

I'll credit you on the ''LIVE'' reply to my 'DIE' though

At least you have some wit.

I'm glad I was able to amuse you.

Now where is my Haldol - I just had it here a minute ago...

  • @slantyrock Peter Steele R.I.P.

  • @slantyrock No it isn't. Peter Steele is like. HUGE.

  • @Misery1219 He's hunched over in the video, his face is the same, especially his unique ears and his nose is similar, maybe it isn't but it looks a lot like him.

  • @Misery1219 Peter was part of the hardcore scene as we all were at the time. Not a latecomer goth. Like you.

  • @carthagevisors How would you think i'm a goth lol.

  • @slantyrock From Carnivore at that time

  • @luiselmonster Aye, of course, another excellent band.

  • what movie is this from?

  • The Beat

  • hard times! new york skin heads kill ALQUEIDA

  • it would be funny if it weren't so pathetic to see the bands these days call themselves "hardcore".

i go to some shows and i can't tell who's more bored with the music, the crowd or the band.

  • I agree with u man, im 37 years old and in time to time i go to "hardcore" shows and i get really bore, thery're just clowns, bands just dont feel it anymore. So we need to keep watching old school videos of Cro mags and bad brains and thats the sad true.

  • however though, its not all band these days that have lost the feel of hardcore, there still quite a few bands that keep the spirit alive, but i agree that there is a hell of alot of band thats just scream down a microphone these days.

check out losing streak, damaged goods, true colours and common cause if you havent already, there all bands from belgium that keep the old school hardcore alive.

  • listen to the sound histeric angels cant get around, moonlight blacktop holly playground the beeat 1987 new york

  • makes me wish i was born 15 years earlier, Hard Fucking Times!!

  • Damn - I miss these times! Rock Hotel shows, cb's matinees, the old ritz! if only ave B didn't turn into Avenue Bistro, maybe there'd be a real scene again and not the mtv crap of today.

  • a great fucking movie!!!

"the beat, the beat, ba ba...the beat, the beat, ba ba..."

    fuck yes!!!

  • what movie is this?

  • elyurita:

  • the beat - the conjurer 1987 John savage, William Mcnamara, got it filmed in 93, wow.

  • cromags died when john left

  • Ah my youth...does anyone else miss these days?

  • you bet your ass....

  • now this looks dangerous

  • Is this at the Ritz?

  • Yes, that was at the Ritz. I remember skipping school that day to see filming of that. It was awesome.

  • I remeber skipping school that day also to to see this. It was the first time for me seeing the cromags live and it was awesome. Also, remember going into the men's room where the people filming were giving and offering everyone coming in there lit marijuana joints because it was footage they were using for the film. Have to see it was the fist and only harcore. show I ever went to where I recieved free food and pot.

  • Yup - the movie that they were filming was called "the Beat" and the Cro-mags were called "Iron Skulls"

My friend Jason (singer from Krakdown) was the one screaming "hard times" in the mic with Bloodclot - I remember that day like yesterday because I almost had my neck broken by a 300 pound stage diver...

  • Hey tmolesky! I was there at the ritz when they were filming this too. After reading your blog, I now remeber vaguely when the cro mags all of a sudden stopped playing, the mosh pit opened up much bigger ver quicly, and there was a guy laid out on the floor unable to move. Then Harley yelling into the mic that some guy just brike is fucking neck and telling everyone to be more careful. So, was that guy you?

  • haha, no that wasn't me that was injured on the floor but I got pretty banged up.

  • The Unholy powers of the Thom protected you!

  • what's happening with the sound?

  • Cro Mags and Bad Brains rule, I'm a fan of both..by the way, i ordered "New York Thrash" (ROIR) and don't forget another great NYHC legend, REAGAN YOUTH

  • and my favorites: Cause For Alarm, Antidote, and THE MOB!
