I lived this song in real life. Except it was college, and instead of becoming a drunk I became a banker. Last I heard she got fat and was working as a waitress at Marie Callenders back home. HA HA!
im s0 fucking drunk csa altheway indians are somewere in tjere love is key take pride in the rave you got the white has risen to the top i take pride in the what you got got wjite on top in hundred years life could chng the fuckinchiniese could rull the world be what you is CSA vodca is some crasie shit
I'm a southern-born American...that means I've no idea WHAT the hell my lineage is, except that Native American is in the mix, my great-grandmother on my maternal side looks 100% , great-grandfather (her husband) looks like EVIL Mark Twain! lol NOBODY smiled for "photo-portraits" in those days. Best guess would be Cherokee, who ruled here before "Trail of Tears."
I found a different version of this record in the trash on the street in NYC in the '70s. I became a punk/New Wave influence and dang if someone didn't steal this record from me! Thank you so much for posting, I kind of thought I was imagining all this and people have ridiculed me. I left the USA to give it back to the First People. I am now in Europe. Uprated.
Here is an old country song with race content. I am black and I like it.
BTW to all the native Indian people and those mixed with native Indian bloodlines, my parents are from Jamaica, but the black people are not the first people of Jamaica, it was the Arawak Indians.

Peter La Farge wrote this song and his version is much better. Cash sings it and it's a song, but listen to La Farge...it's an experience. When he sings it, you'll believe every word.
the tough whiskey, just a drunk that might have been ,this is my friends favorite when he drinks he always sings this song with his stagger and talking leaves is also assume
This is so bad. One of my great grandmoms was a Lakota and the way she was treated by the Whites was so bad.... Today I count as white, but her blood flows in me...
