  • "JOURNEYROCKS"!

  • Man, by the time I actually saw Journey in concert Steve had already been replaced w/Steve Augeri. It's so annoying because some people tell me I shouldn't even be worried about it because 'he sounds just like Steve Perry.' It's like soda though, I don't want Mt holler from sav-a-lot, I want mountain dew, the original;)

  • Journey was so great with steve perry. The 1980's kick ass.\,,,/

  • Yea, he played in a few bands back in those days.

  • I just realized..that black guy on stage is Randy Jackson from American Idol?

  • @BanzaiSushi Yes it is...he was not a member of Journey but was a paid musician at times for them

  • so unashamedly 80's

  • Neil got sh*t thrown at him all the time ! LOL

But Steve never did......Neil is an @ss, but he is a great

guitar player. Everyone LOVES STEVE PERRY <3 <3

  • @Shyann1

In the 'Live In Houston' DVD someone tosses a bra at Steve. Those are the kind of things he had thrown at him, not bottles. :)

  • This album just shows that Journey unlike many other bands evolved with their music. Neil Schon is still an underrated guitar player. You could also hear the Randy Jackson influence on the songs on this album.

  • @TSconspiracy Schon is awesome

  • Hard to believe I was born in 1987..wish I was born sooner so I could enjoy journey music!

  • @BanzaiSushi Yeah , Obviously but , you can enjoy journey music now and see THE BEST.......JOURNEY WITH THE MAGIC OF STEVE PERRY AS A LEADER

  • That guy with the crutch at 2:37 would get tackled to the ground by DHS agents in 2012.

  • Guitar on this song is awesome.

I feel the same way about the lady at 3:31 that you do about Steve Perry. There's a fire in my eyes for her.

  • i love this music! it will never die!

  • too bad for Steve... Randy is the bigger star now.

    .

    .

    .

  • this is fantastic..............

  • WOW !!!!!!! Randy can play & sang Dawg !!! Journey still rocks!!

  • That's tight harmony. Sounds like a 7th augmented, unbelievable!

  • @cindernation12 Where is this chord, please? Not a musician, so what word does it fall on?

  • @baratiellis right at 1:20 it sounds like at least five or six voices doing tight harmony and follows through the entire song. I've heard this type of harmony sung on a Sunday morning in an old Southern Baptist Church.

  • Why did Randy play for them for awhile? What happened to Ross during that time?

  • @clewi1091 Randy was a replacement for Ross Valory. Steve and Neal were going in a different creative direction at the time of Raised on Radio and chose to fire Ross Valory and Steve Smith that is why you have Randy Jackson and Michael Baird on drums.

  • OMG ,IT'S RANDY JACKSONON BASS FROM AMERICAN IDOL

  • One of the all time best bands in the history of rock and roll...Steve Perry ranks #1 on my list of singers. He did all of his concerts WITHOUT monitors in his ears to hear himself like people do today and also without lip syncing. He was truly amazing. I'm feel so fortunate to have seen them in concert with all of the original members. Steve Perry will always be "The Voice".

  • @cert2000 I was lucky to see Journey on their escape tour. What I remember most about the concert is that we were seated on the 36 row in front of the stage this couple came and ask if we could exchange seats with them so that they could sit next to their friends the couples seats happened to be the same seat numbers but on the 16th row. Talk about scoring. Great concert. From all the different concerts I have gone to that was the most memorable

  • By far one of the greatest bands in history. If any band can make you dance and feel more in love with somone special it's Journey.

  • HHHSALOHFJGVDFMBNJGOHRT I LOVE THIS FREAKIN SONG!!! :DDD

  • This is definetly my favorite song i cover at local Karaoke bars. I just ROCKED it saturday with great results. Thank you for your inspiration Steve Perry. You'll always be # 1 - Love Rockin this song man! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooo Nothin stands between love and you-ooooooo!!!!!!!!! Rock on Perry !!!!!!!

  • Epic!

  • What an awesome video! Steve Perry and Journey were an amazing thing..Saw them at Mountain Aire in 1981-I was just seventeen years old-I'll never forget it! Too bad you can't find concerts with all the great bands anymore.. :(

  • @rockintotheeighties1 I was born in the wrong generation D':!!!

  • @Rainbowjellyishh Hey! I did not knew we were twins man!

  • This video isn't colored correctly. I think Steve's jacket is supposed to be more of a salmon color. The 80's was really influenced by 1950's pastels but with then-modern, bolder conveniences. It reinforced colors like pistachio and neon orange with primary colors. We're talking about a time when The Boss' Born in USA was brand spankin' new. It wasn't all homogenized like today. Back then you could go into a store back then and piss off elitist kids buying crayola markets in 4 separate sets.

  • @Mysterwright Back then.

  • you da one. wtf?

  • Randys thighs look like tree stumps

  • Pena just cant do this

  • Now I understand that Schon has been there since the beginning but Perry's voice is Journey. I think they should chance their name so everyone knows there is only one Journey.

  • My very favorite Journey song.

  • Great video!! This was Journey's FIRST concert after reuniting. This was filmed at Calaveras County's "Mountain Aire" in 87. What a magical night in SO many ways. The night was LITERALLY electric....

  • S-t-e-v-e P-e-r-r-y = Journey

  • chicos en el minuto 3:39 una fans imita a perry y perry se rie xD

  • Steve Perry is God!!!

  • I guess that if you REALLY want to sound good live, you need RJ picking the bass for ya

  • I mean 2:03

  • Did anyone else notice the something thrown at 2:04 ? Man if i saw someone throw something at Journey i'd kill them.

  • @zrkch yes i did and back in the day ... women threw their bras and underwear at them that why they smiled.... it was a different time.

  • One of my all time top 5 Journey songs! Steve belts this song out with one of the best if not the best voices of all time. I was at the Raised on radio tour concert at Hampton Roads Coliseum in Nov. 1986 and Randy Jackson was a great addition. Just simply one of the best bands ever!!

  • Steve Perry and Journey's best tune!

  • JOURNEY... QUANTA SAUDADE DESTA FORMAÇÃO. STEVE PERRY COM SUA VOZ É SIMPLISMENTE UNICO E FANTASTICO.

  • Randy is a cool motherfucker!

  • My heart is still broken This song speaks to me like no other I guess I will always love him...

  • WHY WASN'T I ALIVE DURING THIS TIME. Man, I would give up all modern technology to be able to have seen bands like Journey in their prime.

  • What up dawg!??! The one and only Mr. Randy Jackson on bass. What a crucial element he added to the Journey sound. He made the Raised on Radio tour da best!!

  • The Big 80s !

  • this was at their peak...

  • Love this song and Steve Perrys passion he put's into all his performances. Rock on forever Perry! From your student and prodogy!!!!! ( Hope i spelled that right LoL ) ; )

  • I have look for this concert and could never find it. Anyone haves a reference wher i can buy it or is it not on dvd yet?

  • @omarestrella it's on dvd i got mine at Walmart but it's been awhile. So you might have to go online. It's called Journey Greatest hits dvd 1978-1997 music videos and live performances. Really Rocks Perry Style! Good luck and hope you find it. So worth it. Later and God bless From Perry Superfan!

  • Journey without Steve Perry is like pizza without cheese.

  • @peteeagle65 so true

  • At 2:03, did someone throw their panties at Neil? Not that I don't understand, I would as well.

"Girl can't help it, she needs to throw! Her panties at Neil, cause he's at the show!"

  • Thanks to You Tube for making this great song TOTALLY unavailable

  • @SadieCo149 its not youtube... it was a fan like me and you...

  • What a fuckin voice!! Man can Steve Perry sing!!

  • @kacres1 yes he could sing back then

but cant sing his voice is trashed altrho his replacement sound jst like him

  • Good band - to quote the blues brothers, the band could "turn goat piss into gasoline."

  • With all due respect to the new singer, there is NO Journey without Steve Perry. It's like having Reindeer without Santa!! :-)

  • @CUBALAW Not trying to be a smartass but what do you think of the Journey when Rollie was at the helm? Completely different sound :).

  • @cdawg4391 Honestly I can't say. I wasn't giving them a good listen. I respect the effort and it's a good one, but Perry is just a unique combination of voice and showman

  • @cdawg4391 I think Rollie was really great. He had a deeper smoother voice. I was a fan when he was with Santana singing black magic woman. But they were losing there fan base. So Perry was brought in to save the band from being pulled off stage. Once Perry joined they sang some songs that featured both of them at the helm. Just the same way you love me & Feelin that way. And I think its called Anytime. In my opinion they sounded really great together. The bands popularity skyrocketed.

  • @gamemasterjavier Perry was def. a good business decision by Herb Herbie. I think Perry appealed more to the masses which = sales. Unfortunately, Rolie's music and voice alone were not going to bring in the $ that the band needed, as they found out in the '80's with Steve's voice. Still, I think their songwriting and song musical structure was the best before steve perry because they were blending Jazz with Rock (ex. Topaz). I do agree that the two did sound good together tho.

  • @cdawg4391 - Thanks man it's cool to know there are more Perry fans out there. Nothing against Gregg I did like Rollie at the helm he had a smooth voice. Black magic woman with Santana was great. I just feel Perry deserves much respect due. For some reason i just was drawn to Perrys perfomance's He put his heart in them all. I respect your comment. The Jazz & Rock sounded great. & Rolie's piano skills unmatched! Love Arnel Pineda just a diehard Perry fan. Still can't doubt Rolie was good. : )

  • I live this song! It is so of me and the guys I always love. In love but looking over each others shoulder for the next maybe better lover.

  • The gibson les paul sounds better but still love it..

  • Best arena band EVER!!!!!

  • Awesome song, made me drive a little too fast today! Cheers!

  • I hear Tariq Salahi watches this every night and cries himself to sleep....

  • Best things about this video

    *Steve Perry's morning coat.

*Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain's afros.

*Randy Jackson's fantastically cheesy ensemble and horrible haircut.

    *Randy Jackson slapping his bass.

    *Steve Perry trying to dance.

Journey will always be a classic in my book. No matter how many lead singers they go through, Steve Perry will ALWAYS be the voice...why aren't they in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet?

  • 2:03 was epic. Schon just dodged the cloth

  • I have been a huge Journey fan for 30 years and this was probably my least favorite album. I will say that this video though, really captures how amazing this band was live. The fire and friction between Perry and Schon made great performances because they constantly raised each others game, which usually made the songs better that the actual recordings. Perry was an amazingly intelligent singer that I took for granted.

  • @TheMissi68 I'm well into my 50s and I grew up with Journey, and Girl Can't Help It became my favorite Journey song as soon as I heard it. It has so much heart.

  • ενα απο τα αγαπημενα μου rock συγκροτηματα.πολυ καλοι

  • There never will be a voice as great as Steve Perry's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first concert and I will never forget it!!!!!!!

  • Fave song of theirs ever!

  • the little richard version is better

  • @fheisk they were not making a cover version, so how could Little Richard have a version of this song? They are not the same song. That is like comparing a Zebra with a Horse.

  • holy shit i remember when the brothers had those flat-top 'fro's like Randy's there, and i had a gawd-awful mullet. good song tho!

  • <3 Steve Perry.

  • It's awesome - at 2:55 - it's the dude from "the Hangover". He's can really jam too.

  • this guy cant help it...loving and craving kitty...damn..damn..damn..i cant help myself and dont want to....i love u honey..x0x0x0..pete

  • SAY NO MORE . . . .

  • Guy waiving his crutch around at 2:36 is EPIC!

  • Probably my favourite Journey song. Great live version. The world needs to hear Steve Perry again. Finest singer in a band Ive ever heard

  • All the band members at that time were just plain blessed to all be together - What a magical moment!

  • @John2226able Amen ! I love this song sounds really great awesome! Steve Perry still rules!

  • @imwithorton I sure knew he looked like Randy Jackson but I can't believe I didn't know it back then!

  • How About Randy Jackson From american Idol On Bass?

  • Randy Jackson looks like Bernie Mac if Bernie Mac listened to Prince.

  • @mrbaby877 ...he looks more like Dionne Warwick

  • Nobody has a voice or stage presence like Steve Perry. One of a kind!

  • steve perry had quite the set of pipes.. probably still does :)

  • yeah with the flat top!!! crazy hair back then, haha

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!

  • Steve Perry..........what else is there to say? His voice is one of the best in music

  • @mbenzsl2000 Indeed I am a big guy and I cant stop getting goose bumps from hearing his voice him and Journey so great

  • @LouieBlu lol, I hear ya man. Its alright tho because its steve frikin perry, ha. Its good to hear there are plenty of other people out there who choose to, and continue to listen to a band (or a singer) because of pure talent. Too many mainstream artists today just try way too hard for attention.

  • Miss ya Steve you are forever the best of the best pal ! Rock on to the King of Journey love this song ! Ohhhhhh theres a fire! Ohhhhhhhh nothin stands between love and you ! ohhhhh !

  • The best vocalist every!!!!

  • Love the voice, song & video!! I could listen forever. Randy Jackson added some soul that complimented Steve Perry!!

  • Oh please God, don't let that gold digging Salahi slut screw up this Band!!

  • The girl can't help it even if he broke her heart again. I couldn't listen to this song for awhile but I'll be alright without you. Will always love Journey!

  • Steve Perry, what an entertainer, Love him and he can't be replaced. Good wanna be's but no can be.

  • @MsCarolann58 You hit the nail on the head!

  • This is the group JOURNEY that we know and love, any other line up is NOT Journey, just some pub singers imitating........

  • SP had such incredible HAIR (to go along with that voice!)

  • Journey sounded so good live that one would almost think that they were lip or play synching to a pre-recorded tape. Nope. These guys were the real deal & one of the few bands out there that could make their songs sound almost as good on stage as they did in the studio.

  • @vodude I agree- I like this live version better than the studio. I've tried to cover it - but it's never this clean. This is a great band.

  • @pdchr - It's cool to know that another fan covers this song as well. I do too it's a really great song and i love the Heart & Soul Steve Perry puts into this performance. He definetly sets the bar high but i think Perry would love that he still has so much love and fans like ourselves out there. Keep Rockin this song bro! I hear ya! Rock on! Vodude and Pdchr! Perry was and to me is still the best Journey ever had!

  • Where have all the good times gone, people ?! music is so terrible today ! GOOD GOD I SO MISS THE THE EIGHTIES !!!!

  • Bands now could never have a stadium show anymore because they don't have good enough songs to get people to come see them. Not without 10 acts on the bill anyway.

  • This is live music at its finest kid's. Your listening to the best rock vocalist in history.Period..

  • gotta love randy jackson

  • The ONE AND ONLY Steve Perry. LOVE!!!

  • I didnt know larry the cable guy played drums for journey..................... lol

  • Epic band, come back Steve!

  • Steve looks so tired...what a voice! No wonder he is labeled "the voice" and "one in a million"! Can't get enough of him

  • Well. Years later & I'm still speechless.

  • @ 2:03 EPIC DODGE!

  • I had a dream when I was little that I met him.still hasn't happened.

  • @mcdeadsit The drummer for Queen is definitely not the guitarist for Duran Duran. especially when his name is Roger Taylor.

  • Comment removed

  • hmmm randy jackson (from american Idol) on bass?

  • @pyroclasticresponse YES!!! :D he played bass for the Raised on Radio Album and tour!

  • @pyroclasticresponse No, that's randy jackson the bassist, and singer, who later appeared on american idol.

  • @pyroclasticresponse yes one and the same.

  • I need a time machine - I wanna go to their concerts and flick my lighter for Journey!

  • Journey hit #17 in Billboard, 11-1-86. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Oh yea i heard a rumour but dont know if its true that this new guy Arnel, while for the most part he does good, a copy cat to me, but anyways they had to remove this song from the set because he couldnt hit the notes in the chorus, that at one of his first concerts it was so horrible that they said no more to it. Thats why its not on the revelation cd with the old songs done by Arnel. it was cut

  • still lmfao at Randy Jackson, i cannot believe that he is in this playing bass and that he was in Journey from 1986-1987

  • xoxoxoxox......this song gets to me .......everytime.......best harmonies......no one should ever redo this song...it's perfect and usually leaves me speechless.

  • i am 13 and steve perry is the best singer in the entire world!!!!! i absolutely love him!!!

  • @jacewayland8 I am too and i am female !!!

  • id like to see that prick ass copy cat arnel pineda sing like this, he could only wish he could fuckin sing this song like this, he can try all day but not even close, some songs he does ok at, but he is a mere copy cat, JOURNEY WAKE UP GIVE THE FANS AND PERRY WHAT THEY WANT A ONE OFF REUNION IS BETTER THAN ANYTHING at least let him co headline with that idiot arnel, and record some songs on an album, hell let me duet AND LETS COMPARE VOICES, arnel is scared.

  • lmao first at journeys 80's hair, and the fuckin randy jackson from american idol with his weird 80's fro, i had no idea he was in journey, when i saw this video recently i was like when was a black dude in journey, then i learned it was randy jackson and i laughed my ass off.

  • Is that Demi Moore singing?

  • Steve has the best smile. I want to eat him <3

  • great song!!!

  • The best lives I've ever heard are Off Course (Japanese) doing "Yes-No" and this one right here. Go figure they're both 80s and not now artists lol. This is quality live right here <3

  • The Big 80s !!

  • now THIS is what a real band is supposed to sound like live onstage.

  • This is magic, this is talent and feeling and it´s what singers today cant do 1/10.

  • now that i watched this again with fewer beers in me YEP! thats randy jackson and he is fatter now! lol

  • @ptaker762 LOL, if I had seen this comment, I wouldn't have given you crap! :-) G'Day!

  • @ptaker762 Yo dawg, it's aight.

  • Love the harmonies in this great Journey tune.

  • ok sorry got my stuff wrong
