The expectations would drown the reality I'm afriad. We will have to dream of it. PS: Peter gabriel will openly admit he would find it hard to fit into Raels clothes!
If you look in Wikipedia you will see there are still hopes that there will be a "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" tour with both Hackett and Gabriel on board. But this is partially dependent on Collins recovering from the neck injury that is currently stopping him from playing drums.
@mugwamp4 no i dont hate phil , other than the fact he turned this once great band into top 40 commercial schmaltz,,,and yeah he is a great drummmer...but i'd hate to see a reunion of them doing " the lamb" fall over because phil has a sore neck!! get another drummer and let phil play the tambourine!!
@mugwamp4 Do your homework. Stop repeating what other people say. Listen to the songs they wrote during their whole career and especially who wrote what. Phil as single writer wrote 3 songs for Genesis from Duke up to WCD, two of them for Duke. W&W, one of their most progressive albums, is Steves and Tonys favourite, Mike thinks "it´s a bit weak". Invisible Touch is basically Mike and Tonys album, it doesn´t sound remotely like anything Phil did on his soloalbums at the time.
@Forsure3333 no i havent as i said "WAS" the man ...he was supposed to do a show here Melbourne (aus)last november but pulled out ..is he really shit now?? i saw him mid 90's great show but he was a bit of a tosser actually.
Prague,my beautiful city :) Phil Collins is Star..best of songs (80-90's). Jeho písnicky a celkove hity let osmdesátých proste zboznuju :) Jen me mrzí,ze mi jeho koncert v Praze utekl..skoda.
it wudnt happen because gabriel is satisfied with his "successful solo career" he enjoys his albums that hav little feling that are just put togeteher with songs here and there that dont fit and hav no feelin. he preferes his stupid big circle concerts and has toys like his big ball to make him feel he isnt missing something excitin like the shows he did in the 70s... but he is... he is missing genesis... but hes learnt not to feel for it anymore....
@LeathalWorksInc its all about the Benjamins & whos willing to financially back such a extravagance ,yea we here would be willing to pay hundreds to see that ,but is that enough & are there enough of us ? yea they all have a price ,pete cant remember the lyrics & phils voice is giving up ,anyway its not just pete ,phil seems to have immersed himself in jazz pop motown writing/playing for the last 20 years or so .
@beatlesdylanyes they already did that ,milton keynes bowl gig call six of the best steve hackett came on too ,gabriel was carried on in a coffin ,sat up & sang back in NYC ,I was there .
O.K. but I think this time it is Mike (judging from his red Fender Strat) doing the guitar part and it sounds moe than good enough. The song is in a lower key anyway (Phil is age 56 and still having a great voice!). I am fine with this version. Saw them in Frankfurt this July: this was the last song as well and the audience went crazy. Many couple were like: "they are playing "our song" - great stuff!
I noticed that when I saw them on this tour in the US. They lowered most of their older songs a whole step. Guess Collins' voice can't quite hit the high notes like he used to. Still sounds awesome tho.

Prague is such a perfect city for a band like Genesis to play live. I wish I could have been there.

If I had to choose between Gabriel and Hackett to come back, I'd choose Hackett!

I love this song. I saw them in Chicago and I'll never forget this night..... the best concert in my life. Genesis.... I love you

One of the best songs they ever composed. Too bad that Steve wasn't there with his '59 Les Paul and that E-Bow making that "crying" effect.
knouraee 4 years ago 2
absolutely right!!! what makes this song that perfect is Steve's crying guitar.
