I was told the story of Expensive Shit by Friday Jumbo himself, returning from a show we just played (2007). Legend has it, Fela loved to smoke weed all of the time. He didn't believe in rules. This time he lit up right in the airport in France. Friday said "Fela, you can't smoke in here". As defiant as always, he smoked. Once the officials became aware they arrested him. Since he ate the evidence, they tried testing his shit. He later bragged and poked fun at the ordeal, hence Expensive Shit
