  • Holy shit thats my birthday

  • Dude, Aliens planted bombs on Columbia. There wasn't anyone on board, they were abducted by the aliens. That's why there weren't any bodies. And that's also why NASA didn't release very much about the accident, the crew reported sightings of an "Unidentifiable Saucer, with what looks like lights circling around the cockpit" I am a supernatant for the C.I.A and I am in danger because I'm telling you this. If you'll excuse me, I have to change my identity now, goodbye.

  • Ham and the NASA management should have been charged with manslaughter. Read Wikipedia and find out why. There are so many uninformed people posting here. Grow up!

  • @shakeAbooty88 cause wikipedia is completely true right? stfu.

  • @TheGuitardude94 Tell me politely what you don't agree with and I'll get back to you. I don't restrict my research to Wikipedia. I also get up NASA, including their very thorough reports made after the disaster. There's no need for rudeness.

    Cheers.

  • @TheGuitardude94 Ham maybe shouldn't have been charged with manslaughter, if that's what you don't agree with. I forgot I'd posted that and retract it. The reason I retract it is that there was no way they could have fixed it and management perhaps decided to let the crew enjoy their mission, not to worry all the way through that they would die. So if my statement about management being charged offended you I am sorry.

  • @shakeAbooty88 well im not rele offended, it's just that u can't really base fact with the support of wikipedia they aren't fully true.

  • @TheGuitardude94 It's a lot better now that the volunteers are sharper in keeping tabs on bullshit, but I know what you mean. About five years ago I was researching xenophobia; someone had inserted a page about the admitted genocide here in Australia and tied the current population and all of the population of the time into it. It was a rant. I took a day to edit it. If I'd written it straight off it would have taken an hour, but I kept the bits of truth he'd written. The trouble with commons.

  • R.I.P

  • shows that slightest mistake can make a complete disaster, its a risk anyway going into space...amazing footage none the less.

  • STFU and just watch the video, trolls.

  • @GhostDragon10

    FUCK YOU

  • what really happened i dont get it

  • @Steelmax6 The rocket blew up mid-flight. R.I.P to the Astronauts who died in this disaster.

  • @AerousStorm The shuttle did not explode. It structurally failed on re-entry. Big difference...

  • @Steelmax6

the heat tiles on the bottom of the shuttle failed. On take off, alot of them were damaged by falling debris.

When the shuttle enters earths atmosphere, the temperatures are extremely high.

The shuttle burnt up while entering earth's atmosphere

  • @griffdawgriffo This accident had nothing to do with tiles. No tiles were damaged. A hole was punched in the leading edge of the wing. There are no tiles on the leading edge.

  • @amgen52

yeh well thats what i got told and i believed it csaue it sounds legit but if thats what happened then truee...rip

  • @Steelmax6 a suitcase-size piece of thermal insulation foam broke off from the External Tank (ET), striking Columbia's left wing reinforced carbon-carbon (RCC) panels

  • @koniditsa There is no God, nor Gods. So, yeah. Science can prove it and you're wrong.

  • it was always an experimental craft.

  • thats what happends when your not GREEK and you leave the earths atmoshere, the GREEK GODS shut u down.only GREEK D.N.A could leave the earth zone.

  • @koniditsa Umm so are you saying every other astronaught that has left this earth is greek? Fuck you idiot

  • @anewell41 go fuck your fagget father u fucking dirt bag,,,,,what the fuck do u know,,,,fucking iliterate

  • @koniditsa Your a God Damn idiot who thinks Greek Gods even exist! Fuck you and fuck them

  • Comment removed

  • @anewell41 so keep on believing nasa u fucking dumb american

  • @koniditsa So who should I believe? A dumb fuck like you or NASA? Pretty easy guess huh? Fucker

  • @koniditsa Your polytheistic views have been proven wrong, time and time again. Please stop being ignorant, you're embarrassing yourself.

  • @inyazha your embarrassing yourself by being an other ingnificant race other than GREEK.go now swing off a tree.

  • @koniditsa Quite honestly, I have better things to do then to argue with you. But I decided why not? Greek people are not the stronghold of the world. Sure you Greeks had a good past, but look at you now? Not worth the follicles of the United State's undercarriage. I want you to realize as well that "ingnificant" is not a word. Ignorance? That's not me sir, it is you.

  • chilling to this day. God Bless.

  • @mohammedmahdi1975 Why don't you take this bullshit somewhere else asshole? You worship a make believe pedophile prophet who likes to screw little girls. Allah.. there is no allah! There is no mohammed, it's all make believe bullshit your parents learned from their parents. Grow the fuck up.

  • @mohammedmahdi1975 Live and let live.

  • And sonic boom was SO loud. The windows didn't just rattle, they buzzed. It didn't sound like thunder, it was more of a dull "thunk."

  • @xXbubbalayaXx I live in England and I heard about on the news

  • Lets see. I was 10. I was watching early morning cartoons. The cartoons were interrupted by a breaking news flash about the shuttle. I ran outside to get my dad and we watched as they announced it all. I'm pretty sure my dad cried with me. That was weird because he never cries.

  • @vulcangrl13 I don't believe this

  • @vulcangrl13 You are just a youngin then! I remember the Challenger going up and exploding. All 14 are deeply missed.

  • :(

  • I was 6 years old when this happened and I woke up in the middle of the night from horrible nightmares.

  • Ugh this makes me want to throw up.

  • This is soo sad :(

  • They all seem calm. In the movie Armageddon everybody is in chaos.

  • @omardiamel probably 'cause they're pro's at this. even in a rare crisis

  • @sickandtwistedchicks you know... rubbing one off? getting jiggy with it? giving flipper a backrub? shaving the cucumber? humping the old hand? making gravy?

lol just messing with you. i mean masturbating...

  • @sheLikesThat fuck you racist

  • oh shit nigga they dead!

  • @Duncan - Columbia had ejection seats during the first 4 launches. You can see the hatches above the flight deck in pictures. The systems were removed, and of course they weren't designed for use during re-entry, or for more than 2 people.

  • Comment removed

  • @alexhamster1134 There is no "ejecting" from the space shuttle. After the hatch is sealed you are in it until it lands.

  • @duncanedwards036 time for a H&S risk assessment me thinks........hehe

  • @alexhamster1134 Wake up.

You'd splatter if you ejected at 17000 mph. The ejection option had been removed years before because even the NASA engineers had worked that out.

  • @shakeAbooty88 that explains it. its worth trying still, better than being slow-roasted.

  • @alexhamster1134 Yes if I was in charge I would have let the crew in on it and put a 2 man crew in a rescue mission to transfer the crew and bring them down and/or tried to repair the leading edge. I'm sure there was noway to repair it though. From what I've read there could have been a space shuttle up with a 5 day overlap. It should have been tried.

  • @SuperCoolAwesome3000 thats fucking hilarious, lmao. :)

  • Well when they were launching a chunk of foam tile fell and hit the wing and created a gash in the wing, in which caught on fire at 9000 degrees and burned the hole shuttle and blowing it up. BTW im not lying!!!

  • @srr73 Your not lying but you got your facts sort of wrong.

  • @srr73

    It was over 9000.......YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hootowl2112 lolz

  • TOMMY561 next time u send me a VIRUS ASSHOLE again i will send u 1 2 FUCK ur shit up i was just stating what they had said ASSHOLE if u look at the videos they POSTED they said it i didnt u FUCKING ASSHOLE

  • Comment removed

  • Ur a dumbass TheMtz432 have u ever herd of a misscalculation of there speed and its been proven that the foam could cause the damage

  • they are even telling the miles per hour y didnt they disentegrate in reentery when they were going so fast notice the miles per hour funny how they desentegrated at a low mile per hour they mentioned they had hit the most hottest point of the flight BULL CRAP i think reentery would have done the damage funny how they were almost HOME when they were struck by some type of weapon or even UFO part

  • @TheMtz432 you're an idiot. Do you realize when they last said the mph, it said "13,200 mph"? You call that slow?

  • @TheMtz432 wait...why is this funny...!?

  • anybody smart enough knows nobody can ever prove it even if there is the evidence infront of us the GOVERMENT will never allow anything so serious like this leak out but just do the research for instance when the accident 1st happened now they have covered up so much stuff its impossible too prove it even the NASA employes even say it was impossible the FOAM did the damage but if u do some checking into it they did come in to fast but the question is WHY?

  • they were being followed by UFO,S they came in too fast they caught on fire

  • Disaster begins at 5:20

  • @davidjl1234

I disagree with you slightly, I think evidence of a problem begins at 4:35.

  • not cool Columbia.....

  • I remeber where I was standing that day. I was at work and I heard over the over head radio that columbia had blown up over texas( i could be wrong on that one).

  • What happend at 7:09?

  • 2:23 TOP LEFT CORNER!

  • @1104hitman seems like a helicopter...

  • did anyone else see a dark object the left corner at 2:23

  • @TheFujifilm8 its called a bird.

  • @TheFujifilm8 THE ALIENS AHHH

  • @TheFujifilm8

and you want us to think that a UFO brought the columbia down?

  • This happened when I was in 4th grade... When I saw this, the shock, even here in New Mexico, was so overwhelming that nothing happened (like school, etc.) for about 3 days. The whole city that I live in mourned that whole time.

  • The commentator did an amazing job keeping his voice under control. I'll never forget the day this happened for the rest of my life. :'(

  • I remember this day very well. I lived near Love Field and was suddenly woken up by something. No air traffic and I heard sirens. I assumed it was an air crash and drove to the airport to look. Nothing. I assumed there was just no schedule and the sirens were probably for a car accident. That evening, I was driving back from a show and saw signs about shuttle debris. :(

  • I've been in mission control. :)

  • anyone else notice a jump in the footage @ 6:40 ?

  • @SuperCoolAwsome3000 Prove it.

  • @SuperCoolAwsome3000 fapping?

  • @sickandtwistedchicks TAPPING !!!!!! Damn it you gotta guess which key people were trying to hit when they make a strange word then u can figure out what they were trying to say......Unless of course they are from yugoslavia, Brazil, or Kansas............

  • @sickandtwistedchicks TAPPING !!!!!! Damn it you gotta guess which key people were trying to hit when they made the strange word then u can figure out what they were trying to say......Unless of course they are from yugoslavia, Brazil, or Kansas............

  • @Ducknbob8 A sensitive topic I see. I'm sorry, I did assume you meant tapping however I thought maybe you knew fancy NASA language. Again, sorry.

  • Last word from Space shuttle was "Roger..."?

  • I just saw something intresting in here,

It seems our friend blueyesalexa likes videos of North Korea and Proproganda stuff.I just went to this person s page in here, this is some crazy stuff.

What kind of moron are you? You believe in this Crap, because that is what it is,all of it,you make me sick and and if the people knew what kind of stuff you look at,the ywould throw you off the Bus,Pal you need some Professional Help,Please get it!!

Iam American and very proud it!!!

    Deal with it!!

  • Hey Blueyesalexa,

What did you say ,your comment about Americans?? say it again....Jerk!!

Watch your Dirty mouth, keep it shut, and show some respect to your master!!!

We practically Feed feed you and where ever you re from...Who cares where your from...The Dumb Jungle for all we care!!!

We also probably fund your Country, because its piss poor and cant take care of its own...I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU....GET A LIFE...YOU RE JUST JEALOUS OF US.

We went to The Moon, and we did!!! Its a fact!!

  • @blueyesalexya I have some neat ideas for you.

    1. Jump off a really tall building.

    2. Tie a 100 lb steel weight around your leg, and jump into the middle of the ocean.

    3. Stick your head in the microwave

    4. Get some gasoline and matches, and light yourself on fire.

Why don't you shove another US made product up your ass , a patriot missile. Go fuck yourself, you commie bastard North Korea loving propaganda loving piece of shit.

  • @jmf12b fucking imbecile , you can feed millions with the money spend on that fucking international space station , fucking imbecile ...washed money you dun see what's going on you fucking son of a bitch

  • @blueyesalexya Did you know that AIDS started in your mother's ass?

  • @blueyesalexya you can feed even more if the IRS would stop taking all our damn money if the taxes would be cut significantly ud see a spike in charitable donations never before experienced the total space program budget is a drop in the bucket of u.s. total spending to cut nasa off would be like trying to a put a bandaid on a severed limb

  • @jmf12b First off you dont give us a good name with that attitude. And second how would putting your head in microwave do any harm. you would have to be able to close it to turn it on. sorry but you make americans look like idiots

  • @blueyesalexya at least we can build an object period. i dont recall any other country walking on the moon.

  • @Renegade2283 "We"? Were you involved in the project? The people involved did it, and I'm pretty sure their mental capacity is completely unrelated to where they live.

  • @Renegade2283 "We"? Were you involved in the project? A country didn't do it, humans did. Be proud of humanity instead.

  • BOOM

  • The crackling you heard on the radio was the explosion of the shuttle..it was dead air after that. And it was also the last time the shuttle took an east to went landing across the U.S. After the disaster...NASA took a detour in the landing route where it flew over the Gulf of Mexico..that way..if another one exploded...it would fall into the ocean and nobody could get pieces of the shuttle.

  • @texasghost East to West landing. Never happened..The reason for flying over the Gulf was to not fly over populated cities for the most part not so people couldnt get pieces. And since Columbia, the orbiter has come over the north west part of the country to Florida.

  • Why the hell did people like the video?!? !

  • @xXAnimeXxXMasterXx Because it is a good video, Sherlock.

What nobody likes, is the disaster itself.

  • @ketanovas Well then, people should dislike the video, because they hate the disaster,

  • @xXAnimeXxXMasterXx But they like the video itself, because of its informativeness, maybe quality etc. The vid and the disaster are separate things, may i say.

For example, i liked the movie "Buried", but i would not like a person to be buried alive.

Did i make my point, which is as clear, as tear of a mermaid.

  • @ketanovas Whatever, i don't care anymore.

  • When you die, everything ends.No one even hears your spirit!

  • Amazing how calm Mission Control remains after 10 minutes without radio contact.

  • @mer191 thats because when u panic odds are your more likely to make an mistake. so they train you not to panic...

  • @averyr18 mezzed up

  • Good thinking from NASA. "Debris should not be touched beacuse of toxic substances that could be on it." In reality they did not want people to claim the parts as souveniers, so they used the statement as a deterant. They need all the parts for the investigation.

  • @ALAJOHNSTONE there was toxic substances on those glyoptic fuel tanks parts

  • @spacepatrolman Hello man. Interesting. I would have thought all toxic substances would have burnt up.

What is "Glyoptic" anyway? Could not find reference to it.

  • @ALAJOHNSTONE the main fuel tanks [like the one that exploded on the first space shuttle ] are solid fuel they also have liquid fuel for retro rockets like the x-15 had hydrogen peroxide thrusters for manuvering in outer space [ watch the outer limits episode the premonition .

  • @spacepatrolman Incorrect. Liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen power the main engines used for launch. This is the fuel carried in the orange tank. Solid rockets are used at the same time for first stage. Other fuels are used for manuvering in space.

  • @ALAJOHNSTONE no, that is a reality. Whenever a shuttle lands they wait to bring out the crew so that those very substances can be vented away.

  • @auntbecky The shuttle is not vented on the runway. The crew waits inside to do post landing ops (configuring of systems and switches), verify thrusters are not leaking (by design they sometimes do) wait for the landing gear to cool off and the most important reason, to get their land legs back as many of the crew are vomitting and nausious. All that takes 45/60 min. APU exhaust and ammonia boilers exhaust goes away when they are shut down. There is no venting of anything.

  • That static from the radio at 5:30, followed by silence, is tremendously unsettling.

  • @nadeau1064 Because during reentry you have no contact with the astronauts.

  • @ClubPenguinMovies123 Your wrong. The series of TDRSS Nasa satelites lets you have comm during re-entry.

  • @aimhigh59 No, there is no comm during re-entry.

  • @duncanedwards036 Very interesting because most of the Columbia videos shows them communicating during re entry.

  • @duncanedwards036 It can be ratty at times but they can communicate through most of re entry

they use the TDRSS sattelite network to coomunicate through i think its the s band antenna mounted on the roof of the cockpit. Before TDRSS (early shuttle flights) then there was a blackout in comms. The shuttle itself launched some of the TDRSS sattelites

  • @nadeau1064 agreed...when i watched this live, my stomach sunk

  • @BooBoop69 So did mine. I was only 10 at the time and it freaked me out.

  • how did this happen? anyone know?

  • @rossm8038 During lift off, a piece of insulating foam broke off the external fuel tank and hit the heat shield on the shuttle. This caused a crack in the shield and the atmosphere proved to much stress on the cracked shield and it then disentrigrated during re-entry

  • Comment removed

  • @rossm8038 There was a strike on the leading edge of the wing. Ice or foam, I can't recall, punched a hole in the leading edge. The heat that built up there during reentry caused a catastrophic failure and the shuttle came apart.

  • Comment removed

  • @rossm8038 It was foam, yes. The investigation set up a test rig, (firing a suitcase sized piece of foam out of a special air-gun, similar in size & shape to the piece that was seen hitting the leading edge of the wing during the first couple of seconds of take-off), to see if the foam could indeed rupture a hole in the tiled leading edge of the near-fuselage wing, (the grey section, not the white). Investigators were shocked to see the foam did indeed smash a large hole in the wing.

  • @londongamer No tile on the leading edge of the wing.

  • ooops....

  • Keep pressing 8:21!

  • Keep Pressing 8:19 And Quess What He Says!

  • obviously matthe3234 has no heart, what a jackass

  • YOU DIDNT SHOW THE CRASH? I WASTED 9:28 of my life to watch that.

  • wait is the the challenger?

  • @HuNtCoDVideos no the challenger exploded when it hit the atmosphere when taking off. not comming back in.

  • @The2dudesandacamera Not because of hitting the atmosphere. It was an issue with the right Solid Rocket Booster that occurred due to a structural failure and cold weather.

  • @HuNtCoDVideos Depressing liftoff with high hopes.

  • also.. it's amazing how that goes from hawii to texas in like 2 min

  • at 8:20 i think i see a guy on facebook... keep up the good work.. no shi* they lost communications

  • @gregod10 Um, this was Years before facebook came out..

  • My opinion! Iran and Nord Korea are placed for injustice with these sanctions Big protest I recommend changing in FN four more Nations as a permanent members of security council Iran Lybia Brazil Syrien,,,,,,I´m not surprised that the East Timor showed op at the last second and was chosen instead of Iran in a department within FN.En old APPROACH.........mar kjartansson 24t blog Mingler.dk

  • Probably the most boring video I've ever watched

  • at 5:30 is tough to listen to of the noise on the microphone

  • This happened on my birthday. RIP to those astronauts. That whole day i prayed for their familes. Even though it was my birthday i was not in the mood celebrate. It was just too sad to know that happened. Every year i pray for those astronauts and their familes.

  • @animefan6753

Pray for what? Praying does nothing you mindless fucking drone.

  • What is the image that you see at clock timer 2:42?? It is black and enters from the left hand side, then seems to disappear half way through the scene.

  • @CalifPlyr1 looks like a plane

  • Do you all think that there's going to be another Columbia II shuttle?

  • @SR71ABCD There is not going to be any more space shuttles built. America will be out of the manned space business for the forceable future.

  • @SlightyDisturbedNBK Not just yet. The Ares project has not been cut yet. Congress, white house and NASA are still butting heads over it. Even if they do cut it Obama wants NASA to hand off transportation of astronaut to the space station to contracted companys. And focus there resources on going to a asteroid

  • @folion3721 Well I hope Americans are not out of the game for long, I've got reservations about Obama's plan. I'm not sure those 'private contractors' are up to the job. But we will see how things pan out in the over the next few years.

  • @SR71ABCD Nope space shuttles will be cut by the end of this year i think.

  • @Puff29646 /just realized I got trolled.

    Well played.

  • @Lucas6194 I have been studying physics, aerospace, aerospace engineering, aviation, and astronautics 35 years now. Not much on google about it that I don't already know.
