I received $435 in fees. I didn't even have a checking account I have new vid explaining my recent experience how bankers get bonuses for tacking on fees. The more fees the tack on the bigger the bonuses.
Manage your accounts, and keep track of how much you spend. If you can do these two simple things (I know I started back in middle school), you will magically avoid overdraft fees! Amazing how much money and hurt you can save yourself; try this if you overdraft frequently.
@TehPankake I had no checking account, no debit card, only a savings, yet I got charges over 3 months totaling $435. So this is way beyond watching your p's and q's and your account balance.
Wells Fargo can just go into your account and take money for themselves without your consent. Their fee system is corrupt. But they continue to get away with it because they have our government leaders and the consumer by the balls. If anyone else was to go into your account and take money from you, that would be stealing and/or fraud.
the bank does authorize your payment, but then your account goes into the negative. So yes your payment goes through but it's essentially your fault for not having enough money in your account to cover that payment. in the first place.
Those b@stards take our hard earned money and it's nothing to them. Just paying for their lobster salads and cigars. BOYCOTT BANK OF AMERICA. BANK LOCALLY.
Overdraft is a scam!!! Its not right that the banks rape everyday Americans! All bank cards should stop when it reaches $0.00, Every time you swipe your card and your past $0.00, their is a fee to every transaction, this can be stopped easily!!! The damn card knows when you make a purchase, no matter if its a $10,000 or $00.99. I think its smart enough to know when the money runs out!!! The banks want this to happen and its wrong!
its fucked up that banks invest our money and spend it as if it were their own then have the audacity to charge us fees for going over by 3 or 4 cents?
The whole banking system is a fraud and a con! Backed by a currupt political system full of MP's walking in to non exec jobs after they get kicked out of office. The banks play lose and fast with customers money, lose it all and then demand the tax payers then bail them out! If they want to play the "it's a commercial world card" they should have been left to go to the wall like any other company that is run badly!
Call the bank and ask to cancel overdraft protection...I just did myself!
Call Senator Chris Dodd and show your support for his bill that will stop this shit from happening. He will limit the amount of Overdraft fees to 1 per month, 6 per year. Overdraft fees must be proportionate to the cost of processing an overdraft charge. His number is 202-224-2823. Call and show your support. Google Chris Dodd's overdraft legislation for more information. Pass this message on...post it wherever you can.
they are fucking cunts .the thing is ....what if you havint got an overdraft.they still make it so you go overdrawn anyway .fucking cunts . that question hasnt been asked. it s like the banks want there cake and eat it.
if the banks wont give you an overdraft then there should be no way you can go overdrawn.
Blah blah blah banks are here to help blah blah blah.... yeah right!!
Banks are a business, a business that likes to make money, lots of it.
They fuck people over left right and centre and over charge for services we don't need and then charge stupid ammounts when we get into trouble with finances. Why? To MAKE MORE MONEY! It's that simple. They do not care and they have share holders to answer to who are only interested in profit.
have you noticed its only the slightly richer benefit from this as the slightly less richer has less chance picking up the pieces to recover from the excess overdraft fee (£200 to get back up) and most fall down with irreversible affects of overcharging, and my bank would say "can i interest you in a dept buster loan that will consolidate your existing dept into one easy monthly payment" ......fucking twats iv learned from them my friend. 4 years they had £1200 off me, not now, they work 4 me!!
Fair enough if you could find one bank that did not do this. So you are left putting your money in your sock. Way to get on it congress! One more thing. If overdraft protection is something that is a service to us... why would they not require us to ask them for this service? Do you mow the grass for your neighbor without asking? You would if you could get to it before he noticed and he was farced to pay 500% the going rate wouldn't you?
In other words... (I am whispering) not that risky for the bank. If it was risky they of course would let you search for funds in another location through automatic bouncing that they do on payed accounts. They would hat that high damn risk.
All banks have taken the pay checking high balance and free checking no balance high overdraft route and variations as presented by the salesmen for the companies touting this in the 90's.
Since this is a loan doesn't a standard interest rate seem logical... not a loan says the banks.
It is a service fee says the banks. It is a service because it is to the banks discretion whether or not to cover it says the banks regarldess of your credit rating. But wait! They still want the money back. So they play your history with them and your ability to repay. In other words it a decision - kind of like a hedged bet.
Bouncing to avoid overdrafts is not available on free accounts. Hmmm (more favors) You can have that service with a payed checking account. And you can get a payed monthly checking account if you can keep a minimum balance of a 1000 dollars or more. Hmmm. But then I wouldn't need... They won't even allow you to pay 5.00 dollar bounce fee on that 5.00 dollar meal with a free account! Hmmm (more favors) They are doing us such favors! (continued above)
In America overdraft fees are a service (read favor) for consumers who never asked for it. Regardless overdraft protection is included in all free checking accounts. This is a favor to us. You say you would rather have no overdraft protection? They won't tell you you can opt out. Would you prefer to just pay for your checking account? Why would I want this? Because with a monthly payed checking account you can bounce fees to another account for that Big Mac.

Definitely.
The banks take money without permission. They should refund the money back without being asked or forced.

Sufficiently miffed
Sure we may all pay charges. I understand that the bank is a business.I dont mind paying a fair price for goods or services.
I am now so Sufficiently miffed that I no longer wish to play their game.
pay off my credit card and overdraft.
Try it,it may take some time but I cant tell you how great it was this morning when setting fire to my credit card with a blow-torch.
