There is one big difference on the majority of today's music compared to music like this, and that is that these people of yesterday, like the Beatles, learned to play an instrument. Today, it's almost done by "beat" machines and choreography, now tell me, what it so stellar about that? That's why people have the right to rag on music of today. It's just like with anything, we're taking the easy way out....

@TheGreenfireflies I disagree. I think popular music as a whole lost their direction after the Beatles broke up. First there was the the initial shock in the 70's, then the 80's got weird, 90's heroin and weed got big again with grunge, and now with today's music it seems like everybody just said, "fuck it." It's like everyone knows they can't make as big an impact or change things the way the beatles did, so they stopped trying. Now its songs about who has more money & drugs.

I'm really tired of people dissing members of The Beatles and saying one is better than the other. They were all good in different ways, equally amazing musicians. Even if Paul was only into the fame and fortune, which I doubt, he would still be just as good as the rest of the Beatles. Being in a band isn't about having 1 or 2 good musicians and some background stuff. It's about friends getting together and creating music that lasts. It's about seeing the good AND bad in each other.
