And X-factor doesn't even out the playing field. It makes some characters ridiculously godlike. If someone like Hsien-Ko or Felicia or Captain America catches you with x-factor, that's fine. If fucking Sentinel, Dante, Wolvie, or Phoenix hit confirm you off one of the attacks with like 7163192837128973 frames animation they have and activated x-factor, it's very likely you will say goodbye to at least 2 members of your team.

No, MvC3 is just easy mode (except for C. Viper) because X-Factor makes all the characters into MvC2 magneto + storm + sentinel + cable + ironman X 9000.

The god tiers in MvC2 weren't easy mode, because even good cables were very rare at a high level.

So what? A multitude of playstyles could be played with just those 8-10 characters. In MvC3, xfactor just rewards you for getting your ass kicked which is stupid by itself. Xfactor makes some dumb comebacks while in mvc2 you didn't have stupid crutches to bail you out if you sucked. Look mvc2 sure as hell ain't perfect, but mvc3 could have been a decent game if they removed or nerfed xfactor. Is mvc3 really that balanced? How many arthurs do you think could place in evo?

I don't care two shits about character balance. The problem with how xfactor works, is that it favors rushdown almost exclusively. You get increased speed and damage. It also REMOVES chip and heals your health pretty damn fast. You can also get out of blockstun with it and catch people sleeping. Removal of chip damage and the quick health regeneration ruins keepaway or any potential trap based teams. I believe xfactor should split up all these different bonuses and have drawbacks.

Anyway, Dark Phoenix is more broken in this game than any of those characters in their respective games and yet you still defend this game. The reason, of course, is that that's not the single greatest factor. What makes MvC3 imba is the style of play. You have unblockable setups you can put on people as their character is coming in after you've downed the first, touch of death combos and DHC glitches and so on.

Phoenix is a wild card. You either snap her in and kill her, get a lucky hit and kill her with it, or she gets a hit and kills you. If she was so unbalanced and over 3S Yun and Chun and other dominant forces, she'd be dominating tourneys like them, but last I checked, most tourneys aren't even won by a Phoenix team, and the top are never "Phoenix x8".

Bitch is broken, as is Wolverine... especially when paired with Akuma. You don't even need XF to 100% quite a few characters right off the bat. Berserker slash is some homosexual stuff as well. Far worse than having good normals and easily being able to hit confirm into super. Far more devastating than high meter gain and a custom combo/juggle mode gauge.

And in comparison to those 3S results, I've yet to see any team have one character in five of the top 8 spots like Chun and Yun. At best we may have 3 of any team (like maybe 3 Phoenix teams and 3 Wolverine teams) in the top 8 of a MvC3 tourney.

I totally see where shadowkids coming from. I hate over use of assists and what have you, especially when they come in the form of iceman, sentinel, or trons projectiles, but as unfair as it seems, getting around all that stuff is half the battle and a fun challenge nonetheless.
