  • can we do that by usb?

  • @alexniver88 No. I think to edit patches via MIDI then you need to use MIDI ports on Zoom G9.2tt. The USB on Zoom G9.2tt is for digital audio recording.

  • I have the B9.1ut but the Librarian patch editor will not work on Windows 7 64bit. Very disappointed

  • @shammock112 Sorry, shammock112, I don't have a B9.1ut. What is the fault. Does the software run at all? What is the error?. Ttry running from command line e.g : Start cmd cd C:\temp\G9RPGwin64\G9RPGwin64 REM run from the command line and check error given java -jar G9RPG.jar

  • @Ferret61 The Librarian software runs but I get a message "device query timeout" when trying to load or save patches.

  • @BethYeshuaMacon Ah, so you have a problem with Zoom Library software (not my patch generator). When you start the Zoom B9.1ut Editor Librarian software on 64 bit can you select your MIDI IN/OUT OK and set pedal online? : Select MIDI >"MIDI IN" e.g. SB Audigy MIDI IO Select MIDI > "MIDI OUT" e.g. SB Audigy MIDI IO Switch B9.1 ut the online state by clicking the "On Line" button so that it appears lit.

  • The audio quality in this video makes not want to take you seriously about anything you say about an audio product. Your voice is so low it can't be heard, then you have feedback and guitar sounds that practically blow my speakers and cause me to go deaf. Since you work with audio equipment maybe you could fix this...

  • 64 bit version doesn't work. DEBUG ASAP. :)

  • Can you do a video where not whispering?

  • So you have a low latency sound card?

  • So you recorded it with the Cubase LE 4 that comes bundled? Do you know if that software works on Windows 7 64bit? I'm looking forward to buy this effects processor and your information would be very handy. :)

  • @krivatakirka No, I recorded the sound and video together using Camstudio 2.0. The microphone and G9.2tt guitar were plugged into a mixer and then into the computer line In.

  • Did you record your guitar on the video with the Zoom G 9.2tt?

  • @krivatakirka Yes the guitar sound is from the G 9.2tt.

  • este imbecil no habla mas bajito porque no puede, malisimo

  • youre voice is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy quiet *

  • Hi, AmaRingo12, I have installed and ran the G9.2tt Editor Librarian for Windows on Vista for Business 32 bit. Is your Vista 64 bit?

  • can you do a video showing how you connect the Pedal to the computer and use the editing software? I have no clue what I need to connect it or how to use the Patch Editing Software found on the website.

  • @blacksabbathgnr098 Hi, see my "Running the G9.2tt Editor Librarian (G9ED)" instructions at the bottom of the page where the G9RPG program can be downloaded. You need a USB MIDI Cable. There is a G9.2tt Editor Librarian Operation Manual on the Zoom website.

  • are you falling asleep while doing this video??? seriously!

  • WOW ! Thanks for that......actually seeing the itemized lists of files, makes it easier for me to understand the unit !

  • i downloaded the zip file and extracted it and ther is no G9RPG.jar file in the zip file?

  • @MrTerru Hi MrTerru,

    still works for me:

I went to the "Downloading and Installing" link and clicked on G9RPG.zip, saved the file.

In Explorer right click on G9RPG.zip, extract all, extract, open G9RPG folder, it contains:

G9RPG.jar, two other swt files. I have previously installed java, so I can double click on G9RPG.jar and

the "Zoom Random Patch Generator" appears.

  • please help me.. how can i transfer the patches in g9.2tt??? when i try to press send all and do the steps, after i press Excute it says "device INquiry Timedout' pls help me...............

  • please help me.. how can i transfer the patches in g9.2tt??? when i try to press send all and do the steps, after i press Excute it says "device INquiry Timedout' pls help me...............

  • @istratokaster See manual (E_G92tt.pdf) : Cannot send or receive MIDI messages • Make sure that the MIDI IN connector of the G9.2tt and the MIDI OUT connector of the other MIDI device, and the MIDI OUT connector of the G9.2tt and the MIDI IN connector of the other MIDI device are connected properly. • Check the MIDI channel setting (→p.43). • Check whether send/receive of the respective type of MIDI message is enabled (→p. 44, 47). If still not working then buy a new USB MIDI Cable !
  • Hey thanks for posting this

  • The G9.2tt sends and receives patch information via MIDI. Therefore, youll need a MIDI interface connected to your computer.

I use Windows XP, a old Sound Blaster Audigy PCI card with a Joystick/MIDI bracket, and to use a game port with MIDI instruments, one requires a cable with a male and a female DA-15 and two male 5-pin DIN connectors.

Apparently Microsoft's Vista operating system natively lacks all game port support. For Vista or Windows 7 try searching amazon for "USB MIDI Cable"

  • Ok. Can you link me to a website (Radio shack, amazon, anything) that has exactly what I need? I'm not sure what I need. Thanks.

  • @Dfraz96 It seems not all of the cheap generic USB MIDI Cables work very well, but I have read good reports of a €30 midi cable named MIDIMATE II and an M-Audio Uno 1x1 USB-Midi cable.

  • @Dfraz96 Correction - I have tried a cheap (£1 GBP) generic USB MIDI Cable and it works fine in Vista. I got it on ebay from China. It was listed as "USB to MIDI keyboard PC Interface Converter Cable Vista". It has transparent cable so you can see the silver wire inside. There is a black plastic box half way along the cable marked "MIDI USB" with a treble clef logo and red, yellow and green LEDs for MIDI IN and OUT.

  • hey,... can i trasfer the patchs from pc to zoom ????

  • Hi rdt78, yes, if set up right pasting the patch from the generator to the editor also transfers it from the PC to the zoom.

To set up: Plug MIDI interface IN cable to OUT socket and vice versa * power on G9.2tt *[Start] [All Programs] → [ZOOM] → [G9ED] → [G9.2tt Editor Librarian]. * Select MIDI >"MIDI IN" e.g. SB Audigy MIDI IO * Select MIDI > "MIDI OUT" e.g. SB Audigy MIDI IO * Switch G9ED to the online state by clicking the "On Line" button so that it appears lit.

  • thanks...my friend.... i will try to set it.... it seems hard .... i don t like the distortions from zoom....because too much noise.... with gain high up...

  • @Ferret61 can this be used with that USB cable? Thanks.

  • @Dfraz96 No - you need a MIDI cable with a DIN plug to transfer patches to the Zoom.

  • Why r u whispering is your mommy sleeping in the next room or what?

  • Can this be done with the Zoom G7.1ut? Am looking to buy one or the other

  • Hi Danny, yes should work with G7.1 just select that on the Console: menu.

  • Good idea, caseyforever. Would you like to hear traditional guitar sounds (distorted with short echo and reverb) or something more "random"?

  • cool. now make a video that just runs through a bunch of random patches!!! we want to hear 20 of them at least...! that would be fun.

  • You seem bored talking about this

  • not to offend , your voice sounds in a way to salad fingers voice

  • That's a good bit of Java coding. Also kudos for the message about the loud volume.

  • wait..

    i think i know now..

my zoom -g9 doesn't have to be in "receive mode" in AMP setting..

    it work now!

    tank you!!

  • ferret61, that's what i have done before post here, i tell you that i know plug in the midi, and i know how to send a patch to zoom G9.

if i send a pacth to zoom g9 it's because the midi are configurated.. i think.

my problem is i can't change the sound on computer, im real time like you do, if i want to listen a patch i have to send it to zoom.

when i paste a patch do not change the sound..

how sould i have my zoom display??

in play mode? what it's the trick?

  • good job man!!

i do it all right, but i don't know one thing. when i paste a patch in G9ED software how can i heart it without "send it to zoom g9." like you do??

i have midi's in and out in the right way.

how sould i have my zoom g9??

  • Hi rstudio11, Plug MIDI interface IN cable to OUT socket and vice versa * power on G9.2tt *[Start] [All Programs] → [ZOOM] → [G9ED] → [G9.2tt Editor Librarian]. * Select MIDI >"MIDI IN" e.g. SB Audigy MIDI IO * Select MIDI > "MIDI OUT" e.g. SB Audigy MIDI IO * Switch G9ED to the online state by clicking the "On Line" button so that it appears lit. Tip: after powering off G9.2tt it is necessary to toggle "On Line" again to resume MIDI connection.

  • What If I'm using an usb?

  • As far as I know the USB connector on the G9.2tt is only for audio data. MIDI data on the G9.2tt is transferred using the DIN connectors.

  • Oh I see , Thanks.

  • haha lol thanks 4 the warning @ 1:00

  • Do you have regrets buying Zoom G9.2tt. I am stuck between this or Line6 Pod X3 live. Most of the reviews I have read saying that Zoom G9.2tt distortion effects are insufficient and artificial comparing to POD X3 live. Have you had a chance to compare them? Great demonstration by the way :)

  • Hi cakire82, "Non, je ne regrette rien" ;-)

I did try some PODs but I was looking for something with real valves as well as distortion effects. I also liked the simple patch format the editor used so I could cut and paste patches on the clipboard (and write software to put a generated patch on the clipboard).

I hope you find what you are looking for, cakire82 !

  • u probably got mixed up. it should be the other way round.

1st: the zoom g9 is powered by 2 12ax7 tubes. these are used to enhance the sound that's created by the digital effects to make it as realistic to the real thing as possible. bear in mind that u'll never be able to sound exactly the same as the real stuff.

  • The only thing i could say to you Bro. is that the g9's distortion effects are more realistic than the POD's, and that is a fact.

To connect the POd to you PC u'll need a USB cable, for the G9 u'll need a special one (MIDI) plus USB - around 50 US dls.

  • thanks man !!

  • sorry, first negative thing i have ever said on utube.please sort the audio of your voice whales can hear you but i cant ! thanks

    :)

  • Sorry, Steve, I've added some youtube annotations as the voice is a bit quiet.

  • thanks my man, i apprecciate the info. Merry Christmas!

  • ferret do you know if its compatible with Win Vista?

  • Tremendo, the Random Patch Generator works for me on Vista.

  • Ferret61 - I haven't but I gotta try it this week nad I let you know!

  • Ferret I forgot to say thanks for these awsome vid bro.... good sharing!

  • You are welcome! Has anyone tried using the "Random Patch Generator" software?

  • I could be wrong if anybody knows how to unlock the 100 factory patches and tweak them let me know. The tube sound is the best on this baby. plus if you have the money and patience you'll dominate this pedal.

    Best Regards.

  • Continued... The other 100 banks can be altered at all, thats a totally waste to me because if you are playing in a cover band, you'll find yourself in bug trouble and will run out of storage. And you don't have this type of problems with the line 6 PODXT live. Don't get me wrong this unit kick ass if you don't need that many banks. And keep in mind that you'll need to spend at least 60 dls more on top of this unit price. Plus line 6 has a friendly software to generate and personalize sounds.

  • I must say that I love the distortion sound of this pedal board(zoom), I own a POD XT Live wich to me seemed to be the best option between all the different brands and models in the market. I decided to buy this unit and I was really impressed by the sound of this little guy, specially the distortion sound. But has some issues also: #1 You can't comunicate between your PC and the pedal without a MIDI -USB cable (around 50-70 dls). #2 it has 200 banks to use but only 100 can be personalized.

  • Hello Tremendo,

I already had a PC Soundblaster audigy card and a gameport to midi cable converter so it didn't cost me anything to connect up the midi editing software to the Zoom pedal.

  • Yes "only" 100 patches can be edited and saved (U0-1 ..u9-5), but each patch has an A & B amp setting which is almost like having 200 patches?

  • The G9 is not complicated, but does have many effects and settings. If you have a favourite patch, the Patch Generator simplifies getting more of your favourite sounds. Paste the patch you like and click to Generate another one like it.

  • Hello there! I hope you can answer my questions, thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to buying this fx processor, I heard the editor or librarian editor has to be downloaded from zoom's site, is that so? Can I just plug the G9 2tt to my computer via USB and be able to download the updates as well as recording? About Cubase software, can I record my own demos, is it difficult? For Where can I get, for instance, Vai's, Satriani's and Petrucci's patches. My laptop has Windows vista os. Thanks

  • Hi Ramiro from Mexico,

Zoom editors can be downloaded - google "zoom download software".

    - no really significant updates from originally shipped editor for zoom g9

Cubase is OK and better supported for updates.

Many Zoom G9 patches are available from giasso (google giasso)

  • Thank you very much. Best regards from Mexico.

  • @Ferret61 giasso website is down. I have a backup of some patches from the site before it went down at my webpage google:

    Zoom_RPG/G9Patches

    myweb.tiscali.co.uk/davieses/Zoom_RPG/G9Patches.htm#Backups

  • woah ..im thinking about buying g9 and suddenly I saw this...looks complicated...or not...
