  • Killer bro. Check mine out.

  • Hy guys could you let me know what you think of my rendition of lenny, I hope you like it, please comment, I put a lot of sweat/bleat into this song over the years. thanks

  • what was the second chord??

  • Excuse me but if you dont mind me asking HOW THE FUCK DID YOU FIGURE THAT OUT? lol :) that is all thank you.

  • @texmex7557 hey man would you check out my cover of lenny as well?

  • a little rough but sounds somewhat good. Plus,...you're playing the wrong chords for the main lenny riff.

  • awesome playing man :D

  • Wow great playing, but video is lacking. Please rerecord with some higher quality so we can really get a look at what your doing!

  • really beautiful playing

  • thanks all , and you can find this song online somewhere. Anyway, I will post the song on youtube soon

  • WOW Nice, Where Can I find this track?

  • Awesome cover! Love the sound, love the feel... just great!

  • Nice playing :D

  • if im getting a new fender strat and i want the john mayer deep full bodied tone which strat should i get i also play classic rock adn hendrix any guitars good for the john mayer tone id rather have the john tone than any other , also how is the fender roadhouse strat

  • Man, use punctuations.. lols. Anyway, don't really know how to help you.. but all i know is, JM has a really fat tone. You might want to look for the pickups on the SRV strat or the JM strat, they're called big dippers.. i think. Or just get a JM or SRV strat, or even an american deluxe.. As for the gear jm uses, you can find it via google.. two-rock amps, marshall bluesbreaker..etc..

  • i have an american deluxe. its really nice but it doesn't have that mean middle range that you get with the jm and srv strats.

  • I don't think anybody here could afford all of the gear John Mayer uses.

  • its not that much really. most at 13,000

  • Re-check the amps man. He has some Dumbles.

  • Why don't you just get a JM Signature Strat?

  • Yeah, I noticed this is from a while ago, but incase you haven't gotten the guitar yet, or the question was never answered, the pickups you need are called Texas Special Pickups. I'm not sure if Fender has any guitars that come specifically with them already installed or not, I had to buy mine after-market and have them installed by a guitar tech. But they do the job for all those sounds your looking for...hope this helped.

  • SRV signature has the texas specials (of course) but no i dont think any others do sense SRV designed those pick ups

  • @bondman00794 the jimmie vaughan has em'....along with a select few strats. Forgot which model(s) TExas specials are the best though. love mine to death

  • nice job!

try srv version i think its better.

  • what kind of strat is that?

  • its an american HSS

  • as a fan of both john and stevie and as a guitar player myself, that was great!

what kind of amp do you use? that reverb sounds awfully close to john's version.

  • Thanks. Its a Fender Frontman 25watt, with built in reverb. The clean channel with the reverb sounds great, but the drive is just so-so. Overall a great amp!

  • this is the SRV version, John mayer was playing it like him, then you are playing it like john mayer so really, you are playing it like srv, ..i love this tune!!

  • actually, john mayers version is slightly different from SRVs

  • great stuff! just keep an eye out on the tempo and the general rhythm of the song--sometimes you go too fast

  • yeah, i've noticed that too.. heh..

  • love it! amazin ! amazin! amazin!

  • thx!

  • this dude is really good... he must of spent alot of hours working on this... i can do this song just not really in rithum

  • did you learn this completely by from listening to any given thursday?

  • Nope, not completely. Some of the hard parts can be found from tabs.. but most of it can be heard by ear. this version is slightly different though.

  • Nice job. Hey, wut strat is that?

  • Thanks man. Its a American Standard HSS strat
