  • What a wast of kit! makes me sad. No clue about audio.

did the sales guy tell you to buy this???

  • anyone else hear a car alarm go off at 1:35 lol

  • What a waste of money........You could have hired sound techs to come in and give that little room what it needed,They are way sweet speaker, but completely set up wrong. For all that money I am sure you Bi Amped the front speakers....didn't you.

  • I love that song, what's the name of the singer and song

  • I love that sub

  • is that really recorded live music? sounds like you have put music over the video

  • @cabriolet2007 It's added on. It slowly fades in at around 0:55

  • @calvinblinkee oh okay.nice setup by the way.

  • song name?

  • its dubbed for sometimes lol

  • My dreams ^^

  • it sounds as though you overdubbed it(or you have an epic microphone)

  • Did the Gotham set off a car alarm at 1:34 or was that in the soundtrack? LOL

I test drove a Fathom F113 this past weekend and wasn't impressed at all. The room at the audio dealer was really small though and probably didn't do the sub justice. In any case, I'm still not sold on its performance, but haven't give up faith. Too many people and reviews have given these subs such high praise for it to have performed so poorly.

  • sexy sub ;) but fuck everyone else... nice setup.. part of being an audiophile is listening to music how YOU LIKE IT. nice vid

  • I WANT THAT SUB.

  • The jl is stunning!

  • really nice equipment but you should do something about the interior :/

  • small sub..is tangent??

  • @melenmike I think its an velodyne

  • It's as if this person bought a shitty little house just so they could buy a bad ass home theater, lol

I'd call that a FAIL, but you do have really nice sound equipment!

    CHEERS

  • the sub bruce wayne would pick cuz it says gotham

  • You need a Centerstagebracket for your Centerchannel. unless you like it on the floor..

  • NICE GEAR BUT BOY OH BOY WRONG ROOM ! THAT SET UP NEEDS TO BREATH! its like having a ferrari and only have narrow streets to drive it on , surely you can blast it as loud as you want but the room would be swamped

  • I was so close of busting a nut......

    Nice system set up.

nice hardware. The only thing i'd do different is, i'd get a

    1.Marantz 9.2 receiver

    2.Ceiling speakers.

3.and put black and yellow tape by thee g213 sub woofer, to alert others, that it is a no drink/ fast movement zone!.

    I am very jealous.

  • VERY nice system!

I run all vienna acoustic myself with a pioneer kuro 50inch plasma, Pioneer Eitle SC25 and a ps3 for my bluray, one thing that is the weak link is my sub which is the supercube, it works but dosent keep up with the quality of the rest.

  • man sound of rain was so realllllllllllllll...... what a clarityyyyyyyy............

  • beautiful!!

  • What is the deal with these JL videos? I want to hear the system! If I wanted to listen to the song, I'd just go to iTunes!

  • Nice setup B&W 703's but the JL-Audio sub is over kill for my teast still nice though.

  • @XXXminekraftXXX Title says it all ..

  • That is a really, really nice looking .. couch!

Kidding, this system is incredible :D

  • Hope youre planning on moving soon and giving those speakers a proper home.

  • I'll put my dual Seismic 10's up against that Fathom any day.

  • A true Audiophile! much respect!

  • beyond "Awesome"!!!

  • Love the car alarm going off outside....

  • You should make a video, and give the JL Audio subs a run for its money !!!

Keen as to see some bass thump !

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I wanna lick that sub

  • @kkdoughboy :-) Lol!!

  • very nice......

  • Atenas is fantastic and the opportunities provided by the Caldera really are impressive.

  • That is a bit over the top for a room of I'm guessing 20sq meters.

But in deed some nice equipment

  • why does nobody play rap songs with these awsome subs they are craving it

  • all this and we dont even get to hear the JL's? what a croc of shit

  • Dude, this is just horrible. You have approximately like 30 000$ worth of speakers there but everything else is just wrong. They are placed like shit, your screen is small, totally unnecessary furniture blocking the sound, left speaker 703 is too near the wall, center is on the FLOOR, surrounds are way too front and your amp doesnt match those speakers at all. Great speakers but let someone else handle the placement and such.

  • @Jeiz1 nah the pioneers are fine with the b & w imo.

  • @Jeiz1 who cares? still those subs gave me a bonner

  • @Jeiz1 this looks like an awkward room acoustically, so unless you've actually been there, you cannot talk too much about speaker placement. The center can by all means be on the floor, provided it is isolated correctly, and . THX certification places the rears @ 90 degrees to the head.

Also, who are you to say the furniture is unnecessary?

  • @Jeiz1 Buddy is right the room is way to small and speaker placement is wrong. that sub is WAY too BIG for that room...

  • @Jeiz1 jealous much?

  • nice song and nice stereo!!!

  • Such an amazing setup! Well done

  • I want to bee like you when i grow up <3

  • that sub is worth more than anything else in the room, including the room itself

  • Truly awesome set up

  • Dang that room is too small for the g213

  • @laptopdoc So film the new room :P

  • This Bitch Can Sing... Name and Artist Please???

  • Amazing System!!!

  • love ur setup!

  • how much is it new

  • how much was th system

  • @ masterisme 1111 any true home theater nut knows picture size dosen't matter any more it's the quality of the picture

  • Dear god, is that the Gotham G213 I'm hearing?

  • I bet you got lot of money mate xD

  • damn, nice system.....

  • very very nice :D

  • How much was the set up? audio wise? pretty cool

  • hay wueon oooo pedazo de equipo hi end...

  • very nice system - congratulations but what is the name of the song playing and artist?

  • Beautiful Gothan sub ,,Tell as your sperience

  • gotham is OFF ?

  • Very nice! Love the subs!

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Finally i found some high end audio video setup on YOUTUBE.

By the way, Can you upload another video by increasing the volume up and show to us what happend? I'll appreciate that.

  • tutto questo ben di dio in una stanza 3m x 3m...con la giusta predisposizione migliorerebbe del 50 %

  • Song is a score by Klaus Badelt for Catwoman takes place during the love scene. Is tittle Klaus Badelt - Catwoman-Love Scene.

  • sorry dude, just creamed myself..... damn, that's sweet, but I won't comment as you've moved it..... so no need to.... ;)

  • The JL Audio speakers made for home use can be compared to what brands? Klipsch, Velodyne... or what?

    Thanks.

  • this is beautiful ,,,but put all that thing together in a room with a projector and you will ROCK

  • god i get so jealous when i see this shit, thats like my dream system and your rocking it in like an apartment, so gnarly you got great taste in audio

  • that is the dogs bollocks man, must sound amazing, even through this video you can hear the bass and high ends, amazing speakers, wish i could afford a setup like that

  • @djhummer I don't believe we can be hearing the actual system in this video, rather the soundtrack is dubbed on. The stereo effect remains too consistent as the camera moves around the room. Strange that the bass sounds overdriven though. At least from 0:55 it must be dubbed over.

  • @DrEMplushrest at least you get the idea on how it sounds even through crap microphone

  • @DrEMplushrest it is yes at taht that point. good for spotting m8

  • @laptopdoc Make a new vid? :P

  • omg jl gotham

  • OMG that is nice. Lol my system is nothing to yours. But hopefully someday I'll have a Paradigm Reference Signature system with Anthem Statement electronics, plus a Gotham. Or better yet, make the front speakers Wilson WATT/Puppies :)

Anyway, what price range was the 700 series speakers in? I believe they've been replaced by the CTs. I thought I heard they were like in the $5000-$10,000 range, but that's where the low-end 800s are, so that makes no sense. I'm guessing $1000-$5000?

  • A system like that needs a 60" pioneer plasma all that money on speakers and you got a crap small tv no offence.

  • AMAZING! But you would have better sound if you mounted your tv and placed your center channel where the tv is. It may sound great where it is but Im telling you, you will hear a great improvement for right center and left pass blend. My set up sounded great when my center channel was about a foot forward from my left and rights. I also replaced the factory center channels tweeter with the tweeter from my left and right RB-81s. I mounted my tv this week and moved my center back even with L&R WOW

  • I can't imagine how much this setup costed you.

  • thats nice.

  • what do you have in your car if you have that in your house

  • The Gotham is so damn good it deserves better mains (Nautilus line) even if these B&W are quite good! I have four JL Audio f113's , superb built quality and sub bass quality. The Gotham is one mean and gorgeous subsonic machine.

  • i just can't find the song name, can u please tell me the name of the song and artist, i would really appreciate that...... thx in advance

  • NICE!!!!!.... Move your fronts away from the walls abit further especially the left one. ;-)

    Great system BTW!

  • Aiy man dont look know but there is a giant sub in your living room run for your life!

  • Please tell me the name of this song .......

  • anyone willing to send me this song; i can't find it;

  • i think you have alot of money

  • Diooosss!!! Que maravilla como suena. Enhorabuena.

En qué curras para gastarte semejante dinero JAJAJA!!!

  • what camera did you use to record this on?

  • nice setup what song is this?

  • name of the song?...very nice setup...probably cost very much but sound's perfectly

  • name is music?thanks.

  • perhaps you have other great songs you can share from one music lover to another, three of my favourites A 1.thousand years by sting, 2. Hotel California and finally 3. Mend (To Fix, To Repair) by Elsiane.

  • Thank you so much i must say its a tough song to find, cant wait to listen to it in my paradigm signature setup. Perhaps one day on a gotham lol

  • Please tell me the name of the song Please! Btw much respect for a great system wish you were my neighbour so I could come over everyday lol

  • @drunknmunky29

  • @drunknmunky29

    Klaus Badelt - Catwoman-Love Scene

  • HOW MUCH FOR THE WHOLE SYSTEM?

  • @akmeljaki

Hi i sent you a personal message from a different ID regarding the cost.

  • @laptopdoc

Why with a different id, so people cant rob you? Lol

  • @laptopdoc can you pm me the cost of just the subs please and thank you.

  • @bigboy9511 the gothamg213 is $12,000

  • @laptopdoc Well thats a lot but it sounds amazing!

  • @akmeljaki the gotham alone is 12,000$

  • @akmeljaki I can tell u the JL gotham alone is 12000$

  • WOOOOW!!! crystal clear and Im using stock computer speakers right now. One question how much?

  • ......and I came in my pants....

  • nice system you have

  • @andersonjjj333

    Thanks!

  • Tell me please what is the name of the song!

    U have a great system :)

  • @romashka2140

Thank you. Scroll down the comments and you will find the song name!.

  • Do the Gotham/Fathoms have a built in amp?

If I just bought the Gothm or fathom could i just plug it in and be done? I wouldn't need anything else to power it such as a power amp or pre amp?

  • Yes.

  • Really cool setup: B&W - knows how to build acoustics, and very good and powerful JL Audio sub. Respect!!!

  • damn.. sound quality would be amazing.. and enough spl to blow your head off with that gotham subwoofer..

  • I purchased a 5700sqft home and moved this setup to a dedicated theater room and it makes the whole home tremble like a leaf at 20 percent of its volume..my wife is pushing me to sell it LOL!..Now i am ending up spending a lot for soundproofing just for this SUB!

  • damn dude you got money, lets see how much you rattle shit with this thing cranked

  • This is fucking amazinggg. how much did this set run u? I kno B&W ant cheap. I have a nasty $1000 dollar sub in my car now I want one in my living room. lol

  • that gotham subwoofer is $12,000.00

  • thought they were 7 grand? Well what ever the case. I rather have my subs in that box. lol

  • those are jl w7 .. just put in a home box. those subs are loud... what subs yuo got that are a grand

  • nice. if you are in the market for a home theater stuff, you MUST check out hsu research. awesome stuff.

  • Best sub woofer

  • nice setup dude, great sound and its nicely assembled...keep spending ;)

  • Great set up. Would you mind telling me the name of the song or the artist in the video?

  • Thanks. Scroll Down the comments and you will get it!

  • absalutely beautifull setup you have. we have similar tastes, i would set my living room up pretty much the exact same way as yours with almost all the same equipment. love it, and i bet it sounds magnificent.

  • Thank you! set up was actually temporary now it is in a dedicated theater room!.

  • wow someone has some money to be able to buy a 12000 jl sub

  • pls tell me...what is the name of artist or title for this music....sry for bad language:D

pls help me!!! ty a lot

  • @kimbalaaaa

    I sent you a message.

  • What is Music ?

  • @WD40PhoeNIX

    I sent you a message

  • my dream sub :)

  • nice setup man...unlike everybody else on here i dont see anything wrong with it except your leather couches...lol...they have a gotham at the stereo one in cape guirardo missouri and it is louder than my 12w7 in my car...which is pretty impressive considering acoustics

  • your sub overpower the speakers...

  • I've always liked JL right from my younger car stereo days, now I'm a proud bowers and wilkins owner. that sub is huge and looks outta place in your other wise sweet and balanced system. I'm sure that thing is breathtaking to listen to, hence why it is where it is.

  • Thats expensive

  • great sub but it over shadows the rest of your system. I would have moved up to the 800 series B&W then to a pre/pro and amps. the killer sub would be the last investment. but that's me and if you are happy congrats!!

  • I am planning to upgrade to 802Ds with classe components when finances permit :-) !. for now i have no choice!.

  • where can i get one of these...???

  • I added a video to visualize what area of the planet I am talking about.

  • how can you afford all that..

  • 2mm of the JL equals the cops showing up :)

So you have your house picked out then, no more searching?

Yeah I know what you mean, my HGS-10 is basically the SPL-1000R on stereroids, it has 250 more watts, +19lb magnet, slightly beefier surround, plus a servo.

So I know tight bass when I hear it.

But it still doesn't beat the SDX-15 for depth or dynamics.

What do you mean by "never achieve the effect"... describe this "effect" you hear?

  • yeah i have the home picked out. I have friends who are audio experts who can make a homebrewed sub for 2000 grand which can outdisplace the gotham. but is that what I want.? No its all subjective for me ..i need both looks and performance ...and brand name..some body can build a car with a supercharger which can go faster than a slr mc laren but for me i would still choose the mc laren over the custom car. My friend likes a way cheaper model of Klipsch speakers over my B&W 703s.

  • I've calulated the displacement of these drivers (single, not pair).

    DD-18 4.99 liters

    SDX-15 6.63 liters

    JL 13.5 8.8 liters

    LMS-18 12.08 liters

Just to even match them in a fair comparison, you'd have to run 3 and a half Velodyne DD-18 for example.

That's based purely on numbers :)

  • More displacement numbers:

    SPL-10R 1.04 liters

    HGS-10 1.45 liters

    SVS-13U 5.53 liters

  • Thanks for the comparision!. You really love Bass i see! :-). Where in canada are you from....I just moved from Buffalo new york to Indiana. Remind me to invite you to my home if you visit Indiana!

  • I'm not a total basshead though, there is a reason why I have B&W 803 :)

I'm about a 2 hour drive from Whistler Blackcomb, on the edge of the Rocky Mountains.

If fact my house is also a 2.5 hour drive from the highest peak in southern Canada at some 13,000ft.

Now if you had said you lived near Redmond, Washington, then it might have convinced me to drive :)

  • Its far i know...Nice video though!

  • For me the effect i hear is feeling and being in the middle of a live concert regardless of what material i play. with the other subs i auditioned..without change in any components except the subs..the WOW effect went up and down with different material.

  • Does your electrical grid even currently support turning on the JL sub?

If so, I'm not even sure why you would keep the Velodyne SPL-1000R in the room, kind of out classed by the JL in every possible way.

We are waiting for you to power it up...

  • Im sorry i did not mention in the description. the velodyne is just lying there its not connected. the grid does not really support the gotham. I am operating the gotham right now at 5% of its output and thats more than enough for this apt untill i move to my new home soon!. I will post another video soon playing jurassic park and showing a bowl of water with big ripples forming when the Trex is approaching!

  • How much did the Gotham cost you?

  • Hi i sent you a message!

  • You do realize though that you could have instead constructed four of the worlds best 18inch sub drivers powered with 20kW's for the money you paid.

Although it would also require an involvement of power-tools and you would have had to sacrifice on the looks, compactness, and brand-name image.

A modular design would be required to keep the weight under 140lb per item.

At that price point it is possible to acheive double that output while at the same time increasing the quality even more

  • For me Its not that simple and i never can achieve the effect i am getting..(i dont mean loudness or distorted bass). by doing what you said. Just send me a message with your email address and i will share with you some fantastic links with pictures and you will know why i chose to spend that much!. I did one month of research and auditioning before i spent on this!. Thanks again for your interest and i like your setup too!

  • Which other subs did you audition?

That will give me a much better insight into the comparison you performed.

I've been comparing various subwoofers for almost a decade now.

However, I live in a small city so that puts a big damper on auditioning stuff in person.

  • I auditioned almost every sub out there all the velodyne series revel series jl audio subs b&w all series..i auditioned them both as individual subs and in audiophiles homes as multiple subs tethered to half million dollar worth of theater equipment. you can send me a message with a email address i can send the links and pics to, and i will send all the the stuff i browsed at before actually auditioning.

  • tuen that fucker up, and crack the foundation. nice.

  • Thank You! Yeah i really want to..dont know when my neighbours will come to crack my....! LOL!

  • nice gear you actually made me jealous with your subs and that doesn't happen to often with my Velodynes hitting the 15hz .. have you consider using a projector there are some options in which you can project a 100 inch image within 10 feet from the lens to the screen

  • I am in the process of purchasing a home so soon i may have a dedicated theater room so i can think of a projector and a screen etc... I cannot even turn the master dial of the jl audio to 10 percent of its output in this apartment! I love the velodyne since it goes so low and the bass is real tight! currently its just lying on the floor its not connected.

  • My room is just as crammed, I Don't own Bowers and wilkins though.
