Probably because his voice actor is actually a female and she -presumably- pitches her voice lower when she's doing dubbing for him because he isn't supposed to sound completely like a girl. Lol. But most singing voices show the true nature of the person behind it, so I guess that's why it's so obviously feminine? :)

For the tv version, it is sang by Yumi Mitora Kusakurin.

For the album version, it is sang by Sanae Kobayashi

I know that Kaoru composed the music for D.Gray-man, but I don't think he had anything to do with this one song.

Many fans say that the composer of this song is Yumi Motora Kusakurin, while others say that it's Kaoru. I know for a fact that Sanae Kobayashi is the singer of this, though. She sang both full and TV versions.
