  • It's so beautiful...how can music move a person to such tears?

  • Thank you Alan Menken

  • 0:48 is deep love! Beautiful!

  • haha I love this movie. Princess or not, she's the only one I actually look like... I even have the long hair (: And I used to have the Cassette with all the songs and I would sing along. I have this movie (Masterpiece Original) in English and Spanish... I think I have all of the Disney Masterpiece movies in English and Spanish (:

  • I absolutley love Pocahontas but, man, the second one really sucked. Pocahontas liked a completely different person :/

  • @ChewbaccaTheMustafa Hahahahahah! If he hadn't killed my childhood love, then I would like him, but alas... I thought I was going to marry Kocoum when I was 3 years old, so I was a little pissed that he died. </3

  • At this part in the movie, I was already crying because innocent, beautiful Kocoum was shot dead by a stupid Brit! Screw you Thomas! D:<

  • Pocahontas' score is marvelous!!

  • I love this movie so much! ALso because what makes it different from others is that there isn't that complete happy ending because they don't know when they'll ever see eachother again! Anyway my favorite part starts at 0:48 i love the song If I Never Knew You! I'll always love this movie forever :)

  • this was my favorite disney princess movie and she's not even considered one. but cliche or not, she is to me

  • THIS MADE TEARS COME TO MY EYES!!! EVEN NOW!!! AFTER SO LONG IT STILL TOUCHES MY HEART!!! >.< TT_TT

  • Alan menken is a FUCKING genuis.

  • *cries* I remember when i was going to leave, I was crying in the plane. and I asked God. "Pls stop time right now...I wanna go back..I wanna go back."

  • i can listen to this over and over again until i wake up in the morning!!

  • THis scene makes me cry...& I'm 15 XD

  • @MissSlipknotJordison The score alone makes me cry and I'm 21. XD

  • @ArcInTheSky27 It's what great music does, it makes us emotional :3

  • @MissSlipknotJordison That's why I love it! :D

  • @ArcInTheSky27 I wish Disney still made movies like this now :/

  • @MissSlipknotJordison I know what you mean. :( I've grown up with these movies all my life and I still love them. I must say that Tangled and Princess and the Frog renewed my faith in Disney. :)

  • @ArcInTheSky27 Same here :3 But Pocahontas was my ALL TIME favorite, nothing beats THESE movies. I remember watching it all the time in daycare & I listened to the soundtrack religiously XD

  • @MissSlipknotJordison Beauty and the Beast is my favorite because it was the first Disney movie I saw in theatres... I was only a year old though. ^^" Pocahontas is a close second! I love them all soooo much!! Alan Menken wrote the soundtrack to my childhood! ♥

  • @ArcInTheSky27 I liked Beauty & The Beast, I liked the credits when Celine Dion sang. I maybe a metalhead, but man do I have a softspot for her music too

  • @MissSlipknotJordison That's the musical magic of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman for ya! ;D

  • 1:09 gives you goosebumps

  • goosebumps...

  • the theme at 0:46 completely brings back memories of my childhood.I remember watching this for the first in theaters when I was around 7.

  • lol at the description =P

  • They are all happy on the picture even do 90% of the music is sad...

  • I rly rly RLY LOVE this peice- not only because it spans throughout my most favorite scene ever in all disney's, but because it sounds heavy, despairing, but everlasting. It truly depicts the current event and emotions taking place. It's a tender, hurting score; never fails to make my eyes glassy </3

Too bad the sequel fked everything up.

  • the score is sadder coz they don't end up together!!!! it was a beautiful ending (not in keeping with what really happened), but it was still sad!!! she never does see him again

  • can you believe the same guy who wrote this and the prince of Egypt wrote wicked??? wow this guys' a boss.

  • I've got major goosebumps *-*

  • its amazing how beautiful the disney scores really are, thats what put them at the top

  • Alan Menken is totally awesome. all of his scores. are. incredible.

  • THIS is why Pocahontas won the Academy award for best score.

  • 0:48 It makes my heart break. I remember the scene with this part of the music, when Pocahontas walks into the hut and you see John Smith tied up. It rips at my heart. I love this movie :')

  • Alan Menken's talent is unmatched. His songs communicate feeling and emotion that words cannot express. He truly is a genious.

  • Personally I like this better because it communicates what words can't.

  • maybe Pocahontas ending is, musically, the best of all Disney movies

  • was this in the movie?

  • Yeah, it was in the part where Pocahontas goes to see John Smith after he's been captured. He's in the little hut all tied up. Originally, the song "If I Never Knew You" was written to be sung here as a duet, but they cut it out in the early stages of animation and just included a bit of the instrumental version (heard here). In the 10th Anniversary Edition, however, the song was reinstated and the full animation sequence completed.

  • magic

  • I love this score. It's beautiful.

  • so beautiful
