@legocookies dude...i love zeppelin just as much as the next guy but they made some BAD songs. all of my love? carouselambra? zeppelin is probably the greatest band of all time but they were still human, they made some bad tunes.
poor tom, seventh son, always knew what was goin on. Tom is a clarvoyant. Robert was reffering to the old Englisk folk tale that a Seventh son born to a Seventh son would be a clarvoyant.
@LedZeppQueenBeatles Alot of bands love legends and great fantasy stories..Really cool to be able to give cudos to your heros..Like Tolkien,,C.S Lewis, ect
@mudmen1000 and @cnote05 you look like two babies fighting for their toy seriously calm down it's a Led Zeppelin video i don't understand how so many hate can be written on led Zep videos )))): you guys made me sad )))): (don't try arguing about my bad english or something else random just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music (:
@mudmen1000 Oh ya you clearly made a fool of me my man,you clearly are and idiot and a waste of space in this big universe. I'd say die but that may take up to much of my precious energy. And Bonham and Pages playing was very lacking compared to previous albums.( and wow bonham played a half time shuffle which he copt from one of his influences Bernard Purdie) rest of his playing is lazy so I conclude with this my opinion like originally NOT MY FAV. Zeppelin album. SO DIE
@mudmen1000 here ya go dummy a little literature about in through the out door for you right from WORLD WIDE WEB This diminished input by Page and Bonham is attributed to the two band members often not showing up on time at the recording studio, with Bonham struggling with alcoholism and Page battling heroin addiction [2] As Jones said, "there were two distinct camps by then, and we [I and Plant] were in the relatively clean one."[3]
@mudmen1000 Um dude im giving up hope on you,you have proved to me you are a moron........... This is proven fact asshole why don't you take your dumb redneck ass to the google search bar and google Led Zeppelin "in through the out door" wikipedia and READ ASSSSHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE
@mudmen1000 DUDE are you retarded or can you not read or comprehend?I didn't once state his playing was bad or Pages for that matter. I was saying the album is not as good as their previous albums due to their lack of enthusiasm and Page and Bonzos afflictions.Along with Plant just loosing his son etc etc etc. You clearly have never read any biography on the Mighty Zeppelin, try it my man reading is fun-da-mental.
@mudmen1000 um where does it say in my comment " I DISLIKE IN THROUGHT THE OUTDOOR"? I was stating fact that Bonzo and Page were at their worst in their drug and booze filled haze...........
@gd1357 Thats because "in through the outdoor" was recorded when Bonzo was at his worst along with Page........ If you read the stories on them during that album
JPJ and Plant were usually the only two who would make rehearsals hence why the album is based around the keys and the guitar playing is weak.......
Appart from this amazing folk song the rest of Coda is mainstream rock n roll and blues crap and has nothing to do with the divine 'Led Zeppelin' and 'Robert Plant.'
@MrAugustus88 We're Gonna Groove is the best song on Coda. The Royal Albert Hall performance is one of my all time favorite Zepp performances of any song.
I worked on this for weeks, getting the bass in time, the snare just so...my folks WENT & bought me a new stereo & magical headphones. Just so I could say, WHAT...THE...FUCK??? THERE'S A GODDAMN HI-HAT THERE IN THERE TOO? That was when I was 18.......IN 1987!!! I've got it down now (I think?). This song is truly beautiful.
its seems like on all the b-sides and rarities albums, the songs are so good that they should have been on one of the original albums.ex:this album, incesticide by nirvana..etc
I always think of this album as Jimmy's tribute to John Henry Bonham since Jimmy produced it after Bonzo died and the drums are WAY up in the mix on every song. That's a good thing. This particular song has one of the hardest beats to play on drums of any Zeppelin tune, even though it sounds deceptively simple. The beat makes the whole song. I love this song.
His wife was Annie Mae With any man a game she'd play When Tom was out of town She couldn't keep her dresses down Poor Tom, Seventh Son, always knew what's goin on Ain't a thing that you can hide from Tom (reminds me of uncle toms cabin) lol
bought this when it first came out '82...i was fifteen..my first reaction was mixed cos i was really into Plants solo album at the time and it was different to this...its not too bad for an out take album but have always preferred Pictures at eleven..still its ok.
Lol a couple of weeks ago I new about coda but never heard any of the song, I must have heard one of the worse song on the radio and thought twice about possibly buying the ulbum but then I heard this and now I wanna get the album!
In all my years as a musician, I've met quite a few guitarists who aren't into Jimmy's electric playing (you know the type - most are lame pseudo-sophisticates, others just parroting the brain-dead "sloppy" argument, and others, that's just their taste) but nobody...and I mean NOBODY...who knows anything about guitar or music in general ever puts him down for his acoustic work. Speaking of guitar, check out my channel for some dark blues slide-guitar songs by Rosetta West.
This is the forgotten Zep masterpiece in my opinion. It has that magic blend of qualities that makes for their best; the blues-flavored heavy rock vibe mixed with folkloric lyrics. The beat is hypnotic in its strange mix of repetitiveness and complexity, and the strings somehow sound like the alchemical marriage of a mandolin and sitar. It is simultaneously psychedelic and folksy, hard rock and blues.
@cmustard599 Like so many Zeppelin tunes, this one just takes you away to another time. Same thing with "Ten Years Gone", "Your Time is Gonna Come", "Tangerine"...to name a few. So much of their lesser known stuff was just as good.
One thing that you geniuses have FAILED to remark is what an outstanding harmonica player Plant was. So bluesy, so soulful -- loved his work in "When The Levee Breaks", "Bring It on Home" and of course, this little number.
Led Zeppelin CODA is like a hidden Oasis on Youtube everyone loves it, there are no dislikes or people Trolling and we can just enjoy the music just another reason why ill always love led zeppelin
@AirforceLax whhoooaaaarrr this album is so shhhiiiitttt, jimmy page is a pooey guitarist, and robert plant smells of peepee... no I joke they are the best band in the world and this song is brilliant, the rest of coda as well.
@AirforceLax Good comment but i find trolls on every post ..sad i know..In fact a few comments on this post are nasty remarks..When will people just listen and chill.peaceout
I like this tune. The main thing about Zep is their variety. I think the great bands listen to the muse not merely playing what they think will sell. Bands like the Beatles, The Who, Stones, Floyd are great because they are true artists. Sad that doesn't happen any more. God bless Zep.
A classic for all time, Zeppelin stands alone.
