  • @crob227 so you put the like 90 volts into the trigger from the drill and the trigger doesn't burn out?

  • your gunna corrode the leads on the ammeter.

  • thanks for the tip.

  • well when i was experimenting with stuff like this i accidentally corroded alot of my alligator clips, it sucked.

  • but with half wave rectumfrycation its 85 volts peak dc after diode half wave rectifies 120 volts rms.

  • yeah...cheap idea on pwm. uh...one diode in series with load means rms voltage is divided by 2. actually just take two legs off full wave bridge and run in series with load. ok to put diode in backwards, but it will reverse polarity. i enjoy your work. also my suggestion is simply a way to have 2 different "speeds". by the way its 170 volts peak output off 120 volts rms rectified (120 x 1.414) = peak pulsed dc

  • so is that going to work without the trigger? thanks

  • I was trying to find a reliable pwm, and for high voltage the only thing that will controll amperage with 120vac is a light dimmer switch... but it will work without it you just cant controll the output

  • How many amps is it pulling with just tap water on the aluminum rods? Do you get 120VDC without the trigger? This is the route I was wanting to go and I haven't purchased a inverter yet. Great work an keep at it.

  • well i never tested the amp, but the rectifier is only 1 amp.got it from radio shack..the inverter steadily gave 120 without the trigger.but the inverter is only 400 watt.

  • man that trigger survived that?

    cool

  • come to find out i didnt, i went to use it do day, and its on on speed now, off or on.

got any ideas on another cheap pwm
