well you hear all the changes, all the ruddy rich vibrato, and hand clapping in this song ? well there's the black shit that helped TFF sew the seeds of love, racist bastard!
Not a big fan of TFF but am a big fan of this, what an awesome collage of diversity, loved it in 89 and still do today...the musical score is just breathtaking and so underrated, just wtf has happened to music it peaked in the 80`s and has just went steeply downhill since then, rap,r n b,soul and all that other black shit has taken real music to the sewer!
I agreed with you until you took a shit on other culture. Rock wouldn't be in existence had Black culture not infulenced artists like Elvis Presley and a great many others.
I find it hilarious that you speak of "diversity" then call 3 genres "black shit". Anyone with any semblance of intelligence and objectivity would acknowledge the contibution of all GENRES NOT RACES to music as a whole. I hope you don't breed. The world needs less people like you.
Truth hurts....between the manufactured garbage that is churned out and the dirge from the "genres" that i mentioned music has hit the buffers,...dont come on here and denegrate my opinion,i am feckin well entitled to it,i am well aware of musical roots but that crap has no right to be called music, all it does is brainwash this generation into a sub culture of gang warfare.. Dont insult me on here,if you really want to insult something then look in the mirror...jerk!!
You didn't personally offend me with your selection of genres to bash as I don't listen to any of them. I'd love for you to explain how Rythm & Blues brainwashes "generation into a sub culture of gang warfare". By the way, everyone is "entitled to their opinion" however narrowminded troglodytes should keep theirs to themselves rather than spew racist vitrol wherever they go.
You insulted yourself, I simply pointed out your cluelessness. :)
I never personally insulted anyone or was being racist, simply objecting at a specific area in music,i was of course referring to rap,you take it any way you want, call me vitriolic if you like,in no way do i need to explain myself to the likes of you, this is a comment page, thats all i did so keep your thoughts and immature slander to yourself... BTW,its VITRIOL not vitrol,my grammatically inferior friend... Now get lost and dont bother with the reply!
A "specific area of music" is a genre and indicative of a RACE or nationality. No that it is of any consequence, but the largest proponent of your so-called "Black shit" are White Americans. Most people who "don't care or need to explain themselves" usually don't, however you did. :) When one resorts to semantics, deflection and pointing out a typographical errors as some sort of schoolyard insult, it becomes clear that you've not a leg to stand on in the debate.
One other thing-I expected a more intelligent reply what with your all your grammatical "flair". Your comments are like a piece of tasty-looking birthday cake filled with dog shit.
Let's see if your "don't need to explain yourself"... again. Com'on the Scots never back down... ;)
Besides "sowing the seeds of love" the lyrics are hard to follow. The little I got seemed it is a much more political song than I relized when I was young. I think it is about hypocracy.
Twenty years ago, I remember going to the ocean in the evening with the man of my dreams. The sky then was like a blanket over us, sheltering us with soft, plush clouds of dark grey hanging down in front of a midnight blue sky. I married that man. And as he is standing right next to me in our kitchen, I count my blessings.
I'm so lonely, I can't stand it. It''s like a dull ache in my heart that never goes away. I'm glad there are people like you who never have to feel this agony.
I so love these guys!! I wonder if this video was done by the same folks that did MJ's leave me alone. Those big bird things reminded me of that video.
Good point, never noticed before. I remember loving this song. 1989, 7 or 8 years old. 20 years ago now, scary. I'm surprised this hasn't got more views.
I remember the tears for fears songs very well. I was in middle school when this stuff was new. Had no idea back then of the now obvious meaning. Its a great concept the Beatles started, however love wont conquer all by itself. We have to couple love with some logical acknowledgement of what the costs are to have peace, namely some innocent will have to be lost.
I wonder how many ppl recognize these illuminati symbols - all seeing eye, rebirth, pyramid, sun god, zodiac wheel...its amazing how blatant it is, yet such a pop culture phenomenon. I mean, you gotta wonder about a band with the hit song named "Everybody wants to rule the world" NWO anyone?
I wore out the cassette tape in the 5th grade....I am now 36.
Had no idea what these songs meant back then, interesting to listen to the words and see the videos again and understand the message. Guess they already new of the NWO!
No to właśnie dzięki chłopakom z Tears for Fears pokochałem the Beatles, pamiętam, pierwszy raz usłyszałem ten kawałek u Marka Niedźwiedzkiego w Trójce, 3ma mnie do dzisiaj, Roland dziękuję, dzisiaj już niestety się tak nie gra, szkoda.........
Now that you mention it, they had been criticized when they released the album because their songs would sound just like the Beatles', can you believe that?
The music reminds me a little of "I Am the Walrus" and the visuals - particularly the animation in the middle - are similar to the movie "Yellow Submarine."
I try not to compare one group against another...but, in my opinion, Tears for Fears has consistently produced some of the best music...Check out..."Goodnight song," by Tears for Fears! Simply excellent...
If I say that Tears For Fears are better than the Beatles, how many negative thumbs will I get? This song has learnt from every late Beatles song and improved on all of them. Tears For Fears are much better than the Beatles. C'mon poor comments... (I need to beat 8)
in fact, i really liked your comment. despite the fact of the better/worse idea, i really think that this song captured the whole idea of the beatles music and it is a good thing! as well as Daniel Johns, mostly in diorama and the dissociatives, had learnt how to make good stuff! Tears For Fears is genius stuff, as late beatles and some other guys around!
why does everyone keep on making the beatles references? of course it sounds beatlesque, they were the most influential band of the 20th century and t.f.f. were talented enough to capture the essence of that. brilliant song,no matter what people think.
I saw TFF on the tour for this album and Roland stated that as they had been sued for plagiarism before, they decided to go full force on this song. It's total Beatle-esque and pure brilliance.
What a great band Tears for Fears were! Too bad they only had a couple of really successful albums in the US. But I think Roland looked better with shorter hair.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
In retrospect such a rip of I Am The Walrus they should've been ashamed to put it out, but I guess by then there wasn't much gas left in the tank anyway...
youre an idiot man, musically at least. what part of the song even reminds u of i am the walrus? the only thing that bears a resemblance is the sound of the keyboard in the beginning. and thats not the same as ripping a melody. you dont know what youre talking about.
Here's a way to prove it, dickless: listen to Walrus, then this. The lyrics have exactly the same rambling metre, with a siren like sound beneath them, and it breaks into a chorus in exactly the same way, with the same kind of pauses ("I am the eggman...he is the eggman..."; "Sowing the seeds...the birds and the bees...). The drumming even has the same phased trot. Only a fool couldn't hear the similarities.
I love the part where he (Roland) and some others appear to be floating. Looks so peaceful. Too bad more people don't take notice of the lyrics of the song then maybe we won't be in the global mess we are in today.
I hear this song now and think how mature the sound is compared to most other bands. People still want to hear this kind of music....music with depth....music that stands the test of time.

All Oasis music was originated by the Beatles. This song is a great tribute to Beatles music but also a great Tears for fears composition. Great job
One of my favorite Tears for Fears songs. Man what happened to the good music of the 80's? Music today just isn't anywhere near as awesome as 80's music.
i just had the best idea!

one of the most underrated bands ever. One of the best concerts I've ever seen was Tears For Fears at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colo.

All around the world was made after this song. In that case, the Oasis video is similar to this one, and not the other way around.

One of my favorite Tears for Fears songs. Man what happened to the good music of the 80's? Music today just isn't anywhere near as awesome as 80's music.
