  • thumbs upped and faved merry christmas

  • The Christmas spirit is not what you drink! (but I was given very cheap bourbon for Xmas).

Hey Santa, you cunt, (ya forgot my fucking bike) pass me that bottle will you?

And yes, I'm packing you one, so hold on to your reindeer... no, by the antlers...

Merry Christmas, all. (I imagine the sound of a Rothchild roasting over an open fire)

The lyrics to this song are very true. Fuck the Future. I'm living in the Past... ;-P

  • This song frightened me when I was a kid! The string arrangement is very scary. The 2003 version is much gentler, but makes the point just as well.

  • Who cares about all the bullshit. enjoy your family at Christmas time Thats what its all about. forget all the crap u can bitch about the rest of the year. O yeah great Tull song also

  • I always have heard this song from 1971, and I never fed up.

  • i love this song reminds me that i aint got it so bad.

  • If one looks sometimes at the text, the vicious social criticism strikes one with which Jethro Tull described already in 1968 social mismanagement where becomes clear that the sense of Christmas giving and do not take is and any Christmas party really the most important is not - this all one are factors which removes "Christmas song" from the traditional christmas songs and makes so irresistible. Lots of love from Germany.

  • whassthawordsattheend? - like " Hey, censor, thatsalittleweird " ???

these are not on "Linving in the Past", or are they ?

  • Truly be-au-ti-ful ! -- my favorite - no: my only - Xmas-song -- *Thanks* for uploading this !

  • Grandi Jethro . Questo pezzo in living in the past insieme alla grande Love story non reggono paragone alcunoooooooooo . Grandeeeeee Ian . (A)

  • I love this song !!!bravooooooooo

  • Hard to believe this song was written and performed first in 1971.

    Applies today more than ever.

    Awesome....

  • Close...... it was 1968 on the b side of the L0ve Story single

  • I thought it was a few years earlier than 1971.I checked, and I was right.

The album that it was was called "Living In the Past".first came out in 71,but was a compilation.

I doubt if anything on it was post 1970.

To be fair,I agree with your sentiments..

The traditional Christian viewpoint of the song is unique, for an award winning "Heavy Metal" Rock Band.lol!

It would be cool if Tull updated it for "modern" times.

  • @neohip

If Tull updated it for modern times, they wouldn't be allowed to use the word "Christmas" in case they offended some creature draped in a sheet.

  • @herringfly

    That is a little unkind.

The fault lies squarely at the feet of who allow these things to happen.

Those who allow political "correctness" to influence their decisions, even though they know it is wrong.

They are far worse than those taking advantage of the situation.

    They wear suits,not sheets.

  • @neohip

I don't really make much of a distinction between those who created the situation and those who are here to take advantage of it. They all are all part of a project that has the aim of erasing any sense of British cultural heritage we may have left and replacing it with some vague sense of guilt and shame. Our mainstream media spend a great deal of time apologising to everyone for our existence. Personally, I'm sick of it. Multiculturalism means the eradication of our culture.

  • @herringfly WORD. WORD!!!!

  • Mr. Anderson, gracias por esta y muchas canciones...God bless you !

  • Hey Santa, pass us that bottle, will ya?

  • i love this song, its about the true Christmas story:)
