@ladygodia This is not the artwork... this is a small clip from a performance spliced with an interview. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion and Abramovic's work is certainly not to everyone's taste however her career spans more than 40 years, she has influenced thousands of artists and is known as the 'grandmother of performance art'. Her work was extremely progressive for its time (this piece was initial made in the early 70's) and paved the way for women to be considered as valid

She certainly worked "hard at her craft", continuously pushing the body's limits and the conceptional limits of the established conventions during the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. She was simply asking questions of how we exist in a way that made sense to her and invited small audiences to watch on occasion. It might not take physical talent to perform some of these pieces, but the ideas are unique, more so than more typically celebrated and acclaimed artists. :)

Maybe the people commenting on this video who are saying "I could do that!" and "Because this is art", should research her and try to understand why she does what she does. Her goal is to test the physical limits of the body and further understand the connections and relationships between the body and mind. Art is subjective, so you don't have to "LIKE" anything she does... But don't make ignorant statements just because you don't understand something. It just shows what kind of person you are.

I can see someone do that every night at The Cracker Barrel. What's interesting about looking at an empty chair and fire place and hearing some random gibberish that makes no sense? Oh my goodness- I read an entire book about her and her art and Ulay and fell in love with her and her concepts. I'd read a lot about this particular performance and this is the first time I've seen it.

No matter how much I read about it- to finally see it gave me goosebumps - I would absolutely kill to have been there. An artist genuis, a brilliant mind.
