the lambent were caused by the lightmass bomb that they planted in GoW1

if you listen to the dialogue when you retrieve the sonic device (lightmass bomb) Hoffman says bring it to the imulsion center immediatly

@deathcomdude hey if u read the bood gears of war aspho fields i think or one of them it says that when tai fighgts skorge he tells dizzy go get the hell out of there and if you watch carfully in gears 2 when there going in the pods just brfore the door shuts you can see tai and skorge fighting but dizzy is nowhere to be seen beacuse when dom and marcus wnere trying to get out dizzy gets told to leav and he retreats so yay dizzy is one of my fav charicters in gow 2 :):):):):)

my therory about why the locust atacked humans is when the humans started drilling for emulsion and digging holes everwhere they would have exposed part of the locust hives to the emulsion toxins which turned them lambent. The savage lambents began to kill off enough locusts until they realised that they would have a better chance of survival of they atacked the humans.... since they caused this problem in the first place.
