This movie sucked.

Unless you JUST want to see Marisa Tomei naked, because L I T E R A L L Y half of the time she's in the movie, she's naked. The VERY FIRST second of the movie, she's naked.

Also, doesn't Ethan Hawke's disguise make him look like Jamie Kennedy???

I disagree about your dislike for the flashback scenes but I found the comment about all movie critics looking like PS Hoffman and wishing they could do someone like Marisa Tomei hilarious.

The flashback sequences were a way to gradually show the audience just how fucked up the situations were. If it played out in a linear timeline, it wouldn't have had as much impact.

Anyways, your review isn't so bad. It's just the whole animated hip hop guy doing it that makes your opinions easier to dismiss. I was ready just to blow past but luckily you said a few things that caught my attention and then I determined that you had a brain.

It was a Good Film but face it matching Hoffman and Hawke together just didn't cut the cheese, the way Hawke acted with his over the Top Jaw Dropping Action. You might as well got Tom Cruise to Play his Part.

The father is looking for the killer because there was no getaway car at the scene. Also, to appreciate this film, you need to understand it, which is basically the reason why this reviewer fucked up this review. He could not understand the movie's intense look at real-life problems, so he decided to blame the movie critics for his IQ of 60.

Maybe that -- in addition to my stupidity -- is another reason I didn't understand it, not being a fat, thieving drug addict with a pretty wife who's sleeping with my brother, and since it never occurred to me to rob my parents' jewelry store. If that's your life, that must explain why you're so much more astute than me and why your mindset doesn't allow for disagreements.

Okay. . . that was a stretch of my comment. You are a hypocrite, you know that? You're the one who said that all movie critic who liked this movie was because of the first scene of the film. I doubt you understood that scene, but the fact that Andy grew up to be like his father, unable to express his feelings, was what started this scheme.

Thank's for your comment. I first saw 'Before the Devil Knows You're Dead' at the Toronto Film Festival within a day of seeing Woody Allen's new film, 'Cassandra's Dream,' which is very similar. I just saw 'Cassandra's Dream' again and still think it's a superior movie. I was stunned that most critics ignored it at Toronto but flipped for Lumet's movie.
