  • omg those taurus pedals.orgasm to the ear!

  • fuck mee....a proper BAND... remember them....lol..

  • Andy getting loose with it, love impromtu performances

  • Comment removed

  • maybe the world isn't ending and is just running down!

  • they all sound great respectfully... Stewart is dynamic as always in his own manic way... Andy is still experimental and bouncy... Sting still fucking with the synth bass and singing like an islander...

cool to see them messing around like this...

  • Lolol @ the guy TRYING to imitate Stewart at 4:48.

  • Stewart is one of best drummers of all times - that's a fact to me!

  • wow, um, well, I guess I was expecting something, um...I'm gonna watch Cream, now

  • They took rock down a road very few after them have followed. And to think, these guys started with a "punk rock" mentality and audience. They were wolves hiding in sheep's clothing back then!

  • Musically good,too bad Sting's voice was(IS) a mere shadow of it's former self.

  • nice!

  • Still great! Stewart had to slow this down for Sting doing "Voices". Sting is singing in the tempo & style he had with his solo band(s) over the years. Stewart gets going in When The World is Coming Down. Andy shreds on this!

  • What a awesome perfomence......Still Great....

  • nothing but talent in this band!!!!

  • stewart copeland is the man

  • De nuevo la alineación planetaria. Fantastiko !!!!!!!!!!!!! Esperar tanto y years and years on ..... when da world is runnin´ down The Police re-makes the best of still around..... Siempre soñe con este momento !!!!! - Now I can die in calm -

THE POLICE MY BIGGEST BAND. Saludos desde MX !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RubHerSoul1, why the "Fuck" would you ever compare Sting's singing style to that of a guy like John Mayer?! Sting is ten times the musician that John Mayer is! There is no comparison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sgtsteel1 I agree I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. I was giving the whole band props for being so good, especially under those conditions. Stewart copeland is one of my drummer heroes of all time

  • @mrpicky510 ah Ok. I see what you're saying. Agreed. In fact, maybe Sting is more like 2/4 as he also sings and wrote the majority of the material. And yes, kudos to Andy for that solo, but we all know he's truly a guitaring legend as Stuart is a drumming icon as well. It's a shame they never did do that new album there were 'rumours' of :(

  • You really have to be on top of your shit as a musician to play like this. Sting is basically working as conductor here and andy and Stewart really have to follow his lead. Kudos to Andy for pulling that solo out of his ass. Not bad for a 60 something year old in an empromtu performance

  • @mrpicky510

Sorry I don't agree. They are all class musicians. Sting is 1/3 of this.

  • they sound like John Mayer doing Voices inside my head.

  • the police rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • 6:06 oops!

Love that one guy at 4:48 having a totally killer time!

  • I love Stewart's comment - "you're kidding right?'

  • Sting is a f***ing great singer & bass player!!!

  • Sometimes I wallow in filth when I see a comment insulting them. This group is great, and yes PLAYLISTS ARE FOR WIMPS! These guys are the king of rock! :D Wait.....what about rule? XD

  • This croud sucks corporate ass

  • @TheRuckus75 right? its like as if they werent enjoying it!!

i would have been a little disapointed!all the band did was talk to them and try to get closer too!

  • a great power trio

  • This to me is creamy and smooth, tight and nigh on perfect.. True Professionals.

Andy Summers deserves the Noble prize...... or something.

  • love this. sad they aren't doing a record :(

  • the police reunion sound was a little on the Stingy side... if you know what I mean....

  • @ab330 Ya and???

  • hahahahaha like that.

  • "what's that? Your kidding right?"

    hahaha The Poice rules forever!!

  • This is called saving the show. On stage the show MUST go on, and that is exactely what Stewart does here.

If you've been on stage yourself you know how important it is to keep things going on stage.

I think it is pretty cool to see how a band like The Police keeps the show going no matter what happens.

  • Seriously, how could you think that this is not good? Above all else, this is a rockin' band that can kick arse without even trying.

  • I remember being so excited about the reunion then after seeing this "gig" realizing it wasn't gonna be that great after all. I mean, the 2 shows are saw were good, but I was far from blown away. Stings voice was a complete let down.

  • yeah i saw them at bonnaroo and it wasn't as good as i thought...

  • love the tripplet beat innit ,..steward

    5 stars

    lmfao

  • Even stripped down, it sounds great.

  • after the change that guitar sounds like totally the wrong chords????

  • It's not the wrong chord. Listen to more music, study harmony, then come back in a few years and we'll talk.

  • copeland!!!

  • two great album tracks,i would play these as a dj

  • awesome. thanks for sharing :)

  • God that solo was amazing!

  • 0:14

I guess they DID have a set list.

  • killer solo from Andy

  • ... deberian venir a Lima :'(

  • awesome

the drummer looks like John Becker (whoppie golbergs ex hubby)

  • or ray manzarek from the doors?

  • grandisimo¡

  • what are you guys talking about its subtle and great. go listen to steve via if you want to see some guitar wank.

  • Et la même carrière après tu te permettra de critique le solo de guitare.

Andy Summers is a good player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You know you really do not know what your talking about because what your doing is talking out of your ass andy is a good guitarist because he actually has a guitar that is sold for over 10,000 dollars and he actually used a guitar that was beat up for so many years

  • You have a cool page though.

  • Thank you

  • What do you consider a good guitar player???

  • And this shows just how GOOD they are at their craft. Even when improvising, their muscle memory is fluid.

Stewart, Sting, Andy, if I could, I would shake your hands and say "thanks." for giving me something to strive for as a musician.

  • Don't know about Andy's solo in "When The World Is Running Down" he's emphasing the wrong key tones and it just sounds plain wrong. He's in G minor at one point and then D minor, if he just stuck to E minor it'd sound so much more fluid.

  • AS is a Jazz guitarist primarily and he's challenging the listener with his atonal stuff, forcing our perspective on where the tonal centre is. When he does it it's brilliant and well thought out, when I do it, it sounds like garbage. :-D

  • Yeah I know all about that, he's just not doing it very well. Someone like John Schofield would play outside the changes and it would make you smile Andy Summers tries to do it and it just makes you cringe. He hasn't got the chops or intellect to pull off what he's trying to do so he ends up sounding too unsophisticated to be a jazzer and not melodic enough for pop.

  • When I'm listening to a lead guitar solo from a pop band, I don't wanna be "challenged" thank you very much, I want excitement, rhythm and melody, this solo just sounds shit!!

  • If there was a country named Freaking Awesome Stewart Copeland would be king!!!

  • Man, I worshipped these guys when I was growing up. They still surpass anything out there today - always will.

    Unique.

  • ...and all the other ones are complete bullshit. omlettes are for shaken not stirred. which came the bee or the sting or hives on a old running car radio. when life burns a frozen steak, make the best of civiche that an po'boy can do attitude bleh i quit.

  • Keep going I was gettin it

  • I love the way Sting slowly starts on and on to move in the "When The World Is Running Down" direction :)

  • Anyone know what amp andy uses? (:

  • Mesa Boogie

  • So good to see these boys back together again. They killed at the Bowl this Summer.

  • Omg the guitar for Voices inside my head is very intimate and very inflicts on me mentally!

  • Andy summers technique is super.

    So is Stew Copeland's.

  • I love this soundtrack :) It's so catchy and the bassline.. B-e-a-UTIFULL!

  • stewart copeland is the man.

  • I saw them play this song as part of their Bonnaroo set last June. Phoneminal. Andy's solo was much more directed and slick than here. But it was an amazing performance. Frighteningly good for a three-piece.

  • Saw Police in Manchester and their version of 'World is Running Down' totally rocked. I was blown away by the way they shifted through the gears on this one: drums, bass and guitar all at the top of the dial. Sting gets some stick but in my eyes he is totally cool. Blueside

  • Jesus, Andy's still playing that Telecaster! I'm surprised it hasn't fallen apart yet....

  • the makers of that guitar have made a replica of it exactly and appharently Andy's been using it. It's identical and you can't even tell the difference. All the little knicks and scratches have been put into it!

  • Thank you! For a moment, while i was at work at Heathrow Airport London, i heard this broadcast live! I never thought i'd ever the Police live ever again since the 80s! Thanks for posting this. It's very special

  • i love police here in mexico im the only idol hahaha

  • Andy Summers is one of the most under rated guitarists of all time. For being 65, he plays like hes the youngest in the band.

  • The sound of ANDY'S guitar will forever reverberate in my mind.

  • best band ever..by a mile

  • after 2yrs of touring at the end of this yr, each of them will take $100million bucks each! after all expenses.

  • they should never have broken up.

  • This video is Fantastic. These guys Rock......

  • How insanely good is that? I'm not as good at ANYTHING as Sting is at playing bass

  • wow Sting is funkin

  • wow Sting is funkin

  • Dear Sting please contact Jack Bruce

  • copeland doesn't seem to enthusiastic to play voices inside...

  • It's too bad, because on the original album version of the song Stewart gets a lot of chances to show off.

  • Stewarts still a monster

  • that he is!!!

  • i know, right?!?!?! he could have bust out some improv or something!!!

  • wow, Sting's bass is awesome

  • Insane! Excellent musicians.

  • That was mind blowing. Love The Police, love Andys guitar playing in this small intimate setting, the man is a guitar monster.

  • "setlists are for wimps" LOL

  • Summer's soloing always seems to have an uncertainty and hesitation about it and that is it's strength. The man is really LISTENING to what he's playing, not trying to fall back on habit, scales, old licks. When he catches fire he's electrifying (like 4:46).

  • THIS SET WAS ABSOLUTELY BANANAS!!!! my head is bent behind these two songs, especially that impromptu Voices revamping... i'm blown away

  • I love the new bassline in Voices inside my head

  • yeah , man... that bassline is sick.

  • wow, Stuart is STILL the best drummer of the world.

  • Who could not adore these guys??!!!

  • These guys are STILL bad motherfuckers!!!

  • Incredible that solo was 2 minutes long. Thanks

  • my wife and I went to see the police two weeks ago in cardiff, still cant get the smile off my face !!!!!!!!!

  • Yowza!!!

  • la cagaronn...los amo wn !!!

  • voices inside my head, teacher subject, The problem of the one and the many is central to ancient Greek philosophy, but surprisingly little attention has been paid to Aristotle's treatment of it in the Metaphysics. This omission is all the more surprising because the Metaphysics is one of our principal sources for thinking that the problem is central and for the views of other ancient philosophers on it.

  • id say u have plenty of your own voices in your own head u nutjob

  • Setlists are for whimps!!!

  • Man, this sounds REALLY good!

  • Maturity has brought out the best in all three of them. The Police have a new sophisticated sound. Just loved their live show 2007...and I'm an original fan from the late '70's.

  • Man, this version is just sounding all kinds of sexy. I'm normally not into these re-makes (very few bands can pull it off), but I actually like this "Voices Inside My Head" pretty good. Kicking it into "When The World Is Running Down" is awesome too. And by the way, Stewart Copeland, you're my hero!

  • Sting has nothing on Jack Bruce.

  • I love Andy, but IMHO I think his solo was sloppy and unexciting. He would probaly tell you the same.

  • holy shit that solo is totally unbelievable

  • A lot of you obviously don't understand what they meant by 'rehearsal performance'. This was just a no pressure have a laugh press conference thingie which is why i really like it. Of course they're going to be a well oiled tight musical machine by the time the tour started.

  • Andy's Solo was Off the freakin Hook !!! Best musician of the 3 hands Down !!! Im a guitar player too so I know what my ears were telling me !!! You Still rock grandpa Andy :)

  • Watching this video and seeing it at MSG last night... two different bands! Much... much... much improved!!!!

  • Andy's about 10 steps behind the other guys musically. I hope he starts catching up.

  • Andy about 10 steps behind? - his playing was the more interesting of the three. The song itself lends itself towards a more atypical solo.....as opposed to the more generic "clapton' watered down blues licks you were probably hoping for.

Maybe you just need to get out more, eh

  • No, I meant 10 steps behind in terms of being tight in his own parts. I am a professional musician, and I know when someone shows up for a gig not fully prepared. Andy simply was the least prepared (by far) of the three musicians who showed up on stage. I wasn't commenting on his overall musicianship or what type of solo he was playing, but he missed his parts or forgot where a bridge was on arrangements that he (of all people) should know.

  • Hey, is that gramps on the guitar!?!?!? Wow!

  • I like this intimate room setting. It makes their playing more intimate, and they have room to jam, talk to the audience, make jokes, etc. Somehow the bigger stadiums for just the three of them seems fine, but I like this one better.

  • wut do u all think of andy's solo?

  • I love what they did by combining voices/running down together. I loved it when i first saw this video and it sounded great at Fenway show.

  • Check out the awesome walking bass section!!! wow

Copeland rules!!!! See u at the NIA 4/9/07

  • you guys are the coolest fucking band in the world.

Thanks for putting up with all our whiny asses and getting back together to send out the old vibes. They feel good.

I LOVE YOU GUYS (sting is a bit of a dick though)

  • He is.

I read an interview with him in Rolling Stone, and he claims he's just doing the reunion for his own pleasure.

I'm not complaining though, the Police are awesome.

  • Sting may be a bit of a dick-but that's the way someone should be a dick. he actually gives the term a good name. hopefully this reuinion tour will put some life back into Sting's slagging New Age crappy solo lps of late.

  • all I can say is --- Thank you STING for all the music and getting back together with the guys that you started off with....a true joy to hear.

  • Good musicians are becoming a rare breed today and rock is becoming an endangered species. Thabnkfully all these older bands like The Rolling Stones, The Police, Rush and whatever is left of rock and roll are still touring, I can't what it will be like 10 years from now, it's scary looking what the pop world is, seems all the Rappers and Linsay Lohan get all the media attention.

  • muy bueno,no veo la hora de que esten en buenos aires

  • Police is cool but there was no need for this. This is the price we have to pay for mp3s and Piracy...more and more U2, The Rotten Stones, The Peppers and more and more Nostalgia acts. Music Industry execs need new yatchies, guys.

  • If you get a chance to catch this show..GO! They are awesome and now are in the groove! Copeland is the best drummer I have ever seen live. Sting..is ..well Sting! Awesome

  • Copeland flipped the groove at 5:18, but they kind of pulled it off. No big.

  • You can hear a big fat Taurus synth pedal that Sting steps on at the beginning

  • Right around 0:45?

  • Ya.

  • The mother of all bass synths!

  • formidable, fantastique

  • I have to agree with Brilliantbeing. The Police are unbelievable for a three man band. The way that the fuse reggae with jazz with rock is incredible. There are just so many layers to thier music. Thow it was just a jam session, the jam session takes me back to being 14 again waiting for them to come to my town. Great decision to bring the majic of the Police back!

  • does anyone still think sting is a good bassist?

  • He has always been a huge influence oi my playing. he has the "less is more approach" but looking here he can certainly show a great turn of improvisational speed when he wantsto. Fab bassist and truly great all round musician.

  • He's good. Not the best, but he can jam, for sure.

  • They are playing nice. Saw this guys in Lisbon some decades ago, and they are allright. One of my favourite bands ever.

  • A little sloppy, Copland's timing is off. Andy is sloppy, they needed more pratice prior to this huge tour. I hope they get better.

  • The Police are the "goods". They proudly display ethnic influences (reggae, blues, soul, world) while rocking as hard as any band in the land. It's a rare mix that the music business still hasn't caught up with.

Good to see them back. It's good for music.

  • Damn, their time apart only made them grow finer with age, like a great wine. Wish I coould see them make this magic live..

  • So far the only voice whiney voice I heard/seen on this concert vid is yours sushitweeker. ? Why did you even both checking it out if you don't like the Police?? You also forgot to mention Sting is an awsome musician & writer. One in every crowd...

  • I hate how people are talking smack ...you guys have to admit people age and things change but these guys are musical geniouses and amazing as hell...downright one of my favorite bands...they still rock and i love how they tinker with time changes in concert.

  • Sushitweeker, no haga alarde de su falta de conocimiento musical, habla como un Neanderthal que nunca ha escuchado mas que berridos.

  • whats with stewarts shirt? is he teaching aerobics after?

  • What a great music like somebody say the magic is back. The quality is still on, doesn't matter the years.

  • Can they really be themselves (musically) outside of The Police ? It's still their best job !

  • Got a ticket for the up coming Phila. show. $70 for nosebleed tickets. 28 or so years ago the band would have given me a ticket. Thank God for projection screens or I would need a telescope to see their faces. I'm happy as a clam just to be going! I wonder if they will recognize me (har, har!!)

  • Like the new arrangement.

  • In 78' or 79' the Police were playing in Phila. I was in the Cherry Hill Mall in my home town and I walked right into them! They were visiting a music store giving away tickets. People were saying it's the Police, I'm sayin' to myself who the heck are the Police, granted I was 12 at the time. My friend John asks Sting for a ticket he tells him, "Sorry kid you got to be 18 to get in." John told him that his brothers 18 so Sting gave him a ticket. They would later become my favorite band, Doouh!

  • Nice story dude...nostalgia, eh?

  • In 1983 I saw the Police at Olympic Stadium, Montreal. I paid $18.50 for a ticket..the line up for that show was Stevie Ray Vaughn, followed by Peter Tosh, followed by Talking Heads, ending with the Police. Now you couldn't pay me to go see the Police ahd hear Stink's whiney voice.

  • "set lists are for wimps" copeland cracks me up. his time with claypool, etc. is paying off. cant wait to see them put to the test @ roo 07

  • The MAGIC is back, Mama!

  • STING. the bass player is back... finally!!!!

  • cant wait to see them tonight!!yay!!
