  • big fat pimp.

  • does any1 here hav the lyrix 2 this song?

  • One of the back up singers here, Grenoldo G. Frazier, appeared in an all-black stage version of "Hello Dolly" starring Pearl Bailey. He played the role of Barnaby Tucker. And my dad has told me that he went to see that show live when it was playing on Broadway.

  • Disco deeezy

  • aaaww.. this is supposed to be made into a tribute track for the late Disco D, one of the founding fathers of the Ghetto Tech genre.

  • ok this is not the disco D that i wanted to hear haha^^

  • 1RichardHunt...This is Dwight R.B. Cook, the voice of the lead singer in this Sesame Street - Disco D clip. The other two singers are Grenoldo G. Frazier and Howard Roberts. Grenoldo and I were in our twenties and Howard was a bit older, late thirties early forties.

  • The other guys kinda sound like Jerry and Chris to me.

  • @wattamack4 I see you have a problem believing that's my voice on the lead of DISCO D. It is interesting that you have confirmed Grenoldo Frazier as a back up singer. How did you do that. Did you talk to him. Well if you didn't I have his number and I AM SURE he will confirm that I am the lead singer. Are you ready for the accurate information? Let me know. 1RichardHunt also needs confirmation and it seems he is using you as his source. Peace DRBC

  • I truly hate to keep on fighting for recognition, but Richard Hunt did not sing any of Disco D. He didn't cash the check...I did! He didn't spend the time in the studio...Howard, Grenoldo and I did! And who ever wrote the blurb in Muppet Wiki dosen't know what he/she is talking about. It is so nice that Richard Hunt sounds like me...it has obviously made him famous. LOL Peace

  • I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard a rumor that this was filmed the same day that Richard Chase committed his last murders. It's kind of creepy to think that could've been going on right as this was filmed.

  • this is the pimp shit

  • omg the song raped my mind!shit.

  • Yeah, that was my jam!

  • Correction...HR didn't write the sone...he was the contractor for the gig. Sorry,

    DRBC

  • Surprise...Surprise...Surprise!!!! Nope!...that's not Richard Hunt or Don Music - that's HR, GGF and DRBC (the blue guy). HR wrote the song as well as sung on the track w/DRBC singing lead. Wow this had been a great find. Peace, Power and Love, DRBC

  • Didn't Disco D have a bit of a coke problem?

  • Alex, how can you tell it's Richard Hunt doing the blue guy? It does'nt sound like any of his characters.

  • He kinda sounds like Don Music a little.

  • Oh, you're right.

  • Surprise...Surprise...Surprise !!!! Nope!...that's not Richard Hunt or Don Music - that's HR, GGF and DRBC (the blue guy). Peace, Power and Love, DRBC

  • Are you saying they did the voices, or is that a joke?

  • No joke...I'm DRBC and I am singing the lead in this Sesame Street Disco D. I was twenty-seven at the time. GGF, who at the time was a good friend of my and is now my son's godfather was one part of the trio and HR the contractor for the gig is a choral/musical director past colleague of ours.

  • Wow! Someone on YouTube who had Sesame experince. Awesome!

  • @antsamthompson9 thats dwight rb cook doing the blue guy

  • @Goldentouchbythesun I know. I learned that from Muppet Wiki.

  • Another classic song about one of my favorite letters of the alphabet!

  • I vaguely remember this. It must be at least 30 to 25 years since I have seen this.

  • How did you manage to get such a vintage clip?

PS. I'm back. No, I'm not dead.

  • Old School volume 2 dvd.

  • Like I said, I remember seeing this as a baby. Now, I'm seeing it again after 30 years!

  • Thank you SOOOO much! I was waiting for someone to post this one again. LOVE singing this song. lol

  • I remember seeing this clip when I was a baby.

  • Hey, this is cleaver. I don't remember it, but I like it. The tune is considerably different from what I would have thought, but then again, I don't really know what I was expecting.

The lead singer looks kind of like one of the backups on Bip Bipadotta's "Fat Cat Sat Hat" song, with a few additional features.

  • Are you talking about the blue one?

  • I'm not sure whether you're asking if I'm referring to the singer here or the one who backed up Bip, but either way, yes, I do mean the blue one. And they do look kind of similar. They're blue, have big round heads (as do all fat blue Muppets), and are wearing cool dark glasses/

  • Makes me feel like I'm back in the delightful 70's again. :)

  • Disco D! Great clip. Only Sesame Street could come up with such great stuff. Still the best programm for kids (and grownups) :-))

  • Im a bit confused about the bulletin you made, do you mean as in video and channel posts? how do i find out how much i've posted?

  • Video posts.

  • I love this song!

  • CONGRATZ!!

My favortie song about the letter "D"

  • Excellent choice for your 700 post!

  • For some reason, the green and the purple Muppets remind me so much of Micky Dolenz. I think it's the hair.
