I've read a good bit about the holocaust and a few books by people who were directly affected but the book that touched me most was by an Irish author! "Call the swallow" by Fergus O'Connell. Really brings the reality of it home.

I misread your comment. From what I have read there is a big push on today to play down the holocaust of the Jews. This is very subtle as it diminishes the real horror of Hitlers plan. The eradication of the Jews. There is NO comparable event in world history like the holocaust as far as I can see. It was unimaginable. But all this is just rhetoric, the question that should be asked is 'Will it happen again and when?' Look at the hatred for Israel growing in the world; pick your side.

and since when does writing a postcard to a frend have to be sent through the crime lab? Which pen was it though? The only thing I know is that her grandmother gave her a pen that was a gift but it was burnt and the only thing she had left was the metal clip attached to the cap. The diary was given to her by her father but he never knew what happened to it until miep gave him the diary. he said himself "this wasn't the anna that i knew"
