    Elephants need some bacteria that lives in their lower intestine to digest food. Young ones eat the poo of adults (after it comes out) right after they're born. It's the only way to get the bacteria. At the zoo they sometimes get antibiotics that probably kill the bacteria. So they have to eat shit even as adults. That doesn't xplane the impatience though.
