  • I'm thinking about this trade but I'm wondering if it's hard to learn? I have no prior knowledge of this stuff nor do I know how to read blue prints.

  • I'm also interested in HVAC and planning to attend community college next week, problem is I thought it was 8-12 month term (trade), that's why I decided on it for a career. The problem is now I'm reading this posts and I see people talking about 4 years to find a good job. I'm 27 yrs old, Am I too old for a 4 year commitment? Can I find a decent job at least $16hr (CA) with a 12 month attendance?

  • Are HVAC systems hard to troubleshoot? How many hours you guys work per week? Are there opportunities for people who want a standard 40-hour work week?

  • I start a one year course at a community college tomorrow for an HVAC certification as a tech, is there different certificates? I also plan on going back for my degree so I can get a better job in the field but want to get my certificate first since it only takes a year and I can get started on the job.

  • @TheMagicMan1 THIS IS A GOOD TRADE TAKES ABOUT FIVE YEARS TO BECOME A AVERAGE TECH ITS UP TO U TO CHOOSE IF U WANT TO B AVERAGE OR AN "A" TECH BEST WAY IS TO START DOING INSTALLS SO U KNOW HOW THINGS R SUPPOSED TO WORK

  • lol, when the guy slid his van open, looked like it said AJ penis lol

  • @hvguy lmfao

  • I am attending my local college for HVAC. What kind of money can i expect to make in this field after this course?

  • @ITRlover1 Well that depends on where you are and what type of education and certifications you have, experience .what you specialize in is also a factor.

You can earn anywhere between $18-$30/hr.

I suggest you get your NATE certification about one year after you graduate.Your NATE certification will really boost your earnings and employablitiy. With that certificate you will be chosen for job over most others

unless they too have the certification and more experience.

  • @ITRlover1 ITS STILL HARD TO GET HIRED.FIVE YEARS AND KEEP GETTING UR LICENSES B, B2. S2,S1 ECT AND ENDORSEMENTS I STARTED AT 8 AN HOUR NOW I MAKE 34. BEEN DOIN IT FOR 12 YEARS. DONT WASYE UR TIME AT AN OIL COMPANY YOU WILL JUST B A BURNER TECH. ALOT OF MONEY IS BASED ON LOTS OF OT IVE CLEARED 110,000 A YEAR BUT ALSO LOST MY MAIRAGE LOTS OF HOURS AT OIL COM. GO FOR HVAC COM. AND LEARN EVERYTHING

  • i wanna do this sort of work but feel im to old

  • yep

  • @bipetalcorpse no ones ever to old to do anything in my opinion

  • @bipetalcorpse I JUST TRAINED AN 60 YEAR OLD MAN AFTER HIS FACTORY JOB OF THIRTY YEARS WENT OVER SEAS. HE WENT TO SCHOOL AND WAS ON HIS OWN WITHIN 2 YEARS. ALSO TRAINED A NAVY VET HE WAS 40 AND HES LICENSED AND ON HIS OWN. U JUST NEED TO B ABLE TO CATCH ON WE DO ALITTLE OF EVERYTHING IN THIS TRADE

  • @delavan100 Hey seems like you know what your talking about. I have a question. Went to tech 8 years ago and graduated with my associates in HVAC from NEIT. Never did anything with it and basically forgot most of what I learned(remember theory and stuff like that but No experience). Been thinking about getting started back into it but Im intimidated because I know Im gonna be lost at first. How would you recommend I go about getting started back into it? Any advice appreciated
