you would have been cheaper finding a secondhand engine and fitting that, than having it stripped down for this repair job, carbon build up from svo,i dont think so as the emission from svo are near zero,we are 6 years on svo and bio diesel and at 155k miles,60k miles on svo, these secret to avoiding this kind of damage to a diesel engine is 2 oil changes a year with good grade oil and making sure the engine never overheats, engine oil change is priority on a diesel, even more so on if running svo
My gasoline powered engines have MORE carbon deposits than you are showing. The ONLY way to prove any theory is to have a new standard diesel engine stripped after say 20,000 miles, then strip a new bio-diesel engine with 20,000 miles while travelling the same route with similar driving style. How do you know that most of the carbon deposits weren't created by the standard diesel fuel first? There is no way, that's why!! There must be more science in your hypothesis.

Look up these TDI engines.
They coke up due to EGR valve problems even when run on diesel.
If you were a mechanic worth your salt you'd know this.
