  • Good video!, can i put on my guitar a Bill Lawrence l500xl and Seymour Duncan Invader sh8 at the same time?

  • is the XL500 pickup good for metal styles or other music?

  • how do you know whether you're buying a fake or real?

i don't know how to tell different

  • another marty friedman style picker?

  • HOORAY!!! Someone who picks like I do!!!

  • So what kind of schecter are you using here? and what amp you running it through. I also have a schecter and have been considering the l500xl

  • @MWRMontages @Tourticket I'm using a Schecter Gryphon for this vid playing out of my Roland Microcube. Also just one disclaimer: I have the USA Lawrence not the B&B Lawrence. Got my hands on the "fake" one before I did more research and found out about the legitimate ones. Didn't mean to hide anything.

  • @SavageDisembowelment actually it ain't fake. it's just their bitter rivalry or whatever they call it. dimebag use to buy his pups at stew macdonald's, and stew only sells BLUSA. ;) fuck B&B

  • @SavageDisembowelment

the "fake" bill lawrence usa ones are the ones that dimebag used.....he has said many times he got his from Stewart Mcdonald, and they only carry the Bill Lawrence USA pick-ups. Dime never used a B&B pick-up. but that's neither here nor there

  • @SavageDisembowelment which one is the fake one? as the pickup was designed bu bill lawrence. And he is making them still by himself with becky. So how it can be fake. Also this guy is a true innovator just read his life it seems we owe him also for gibson and fender pisckups and also he was involved in the design of those guitars....fake??

    nice sound by the way.

  • I am asking myself the same thing like the other 2 guys.....is it a USA Lawrence or a Bill & Becky? You answer all the questions but not this one. I hope there is no reason for that and it is no secret.

  • but the output is similar?

and the L500R neck vs invader neck?

  • hey man! between l500xl and invader sh-8?

  • @mlopes666 Well then that's really a question of what tone you want: Bright (L500XL) or Dark (Invader)

  • I'm thinking of buying two L500XL's for the bridge positions of my H500 and H1001 for metalcore. I just hope it doesn't get completely neutered from the 25.5" scale.

  • I've got a bill lawrence in my ilbanez rg right now but was looking at buying a ESP Ltd with EMG 81s and 85's in it. It seems to be more high output but not as clear. I'm also not sure how in love I am with the clean tone. If I get an ESP should I swap out the EMGs for Bill Lawrence 500xl's?

  • @fetusjuice Well there's no real right or wrong answer to that; rather it boils down to a matter of preference. If you want my opinion, I've never really been one to have a lot of output in my guitar tones. I've found that it can muddy things up if you're not careful, but it's not to say that you can't get some killer tones out of active pu's. Play around with a few guitars first I'd say

  • hey man, GREEEEAAAT TONE!!! are those Bill Lawrence L500XL USA or Bill and Becky L500XL???

  • Bro i need your help what would be better this pick up or a dean dimebucker pick-up :P ?

  • @belfastgiants09 Well it isn't Dean that makes the Dimebucker, it's Seymour Duncan. I've played a couple dean guitars with the dimebucker in it, and I can't say I'm crazy about it. I don't think it handles high gain tones very well, and it's too trebly to try to control. If it were that between the l500xl, then I'd go with the l500xl

  • @SavageDisembowelment oh thanks man im gonna get the l500xl its cheaper and what ive heard from people its better .. :D

  • is your L500XL from BLUSA or bill and becky at wylde?

  • what amp are you using? sounds very sick bro.

  • Im thinking of buying the bill lawrence l500 xl for my epiphone les paul. I want more of a heavy rhythm sound that can pick up pinches better than my current pickups.. Would you fully recomend these or do you have any reservations? thanks buddy

  • @lilticklez Yes I would recommend this as a potential replacement pickup. The tones are very bright which in my opinion makes it good for 1.) guitars made of a wood with warm tonal qualities (e.g. Mahogany, which incidentally is what's commonly used to make Les Pauls by Epiphone and Gibson), & 2.) for very low tunings (e.g. my guitar is tuned to drop B in this video).

  • @SavageDisembowelment thanks buddy! I appreciate that!! definitely gonna go with this one then.

  • i have a roland microcube too, that little amp does kick ass, it sounds way better than my peavey vyper

  • god damnitt that is such a fucking killer ass tone what did u use for this tone if u dont mind me asking

  • @MrCmd29 Thanks =) I just used my Roland Microcube

  • damn that is a brutal ass guitar tone,i like...i have the bill lawrence in the bridge and invader in the neck

  • U posted this on 9/11. But who cares nice vid And playing

  • woah this sounds insanely heavy. Great for pinches.

  • i like your harmonic at :37. the second one, mind you. streeeetch!

  • Haha, thank you =)
