Ever wonder why the CHEAPEST mowers come with briggs and stratton?!? Because they are junk. I have worked on small engines for years. Briggs are known for issue after issue. Honda makes the best small engines!
i had a honda for 2 years and it crapped out on me. this is with regular maintenance.i got a briggs 6.5 mower. starts on the first oull again with regular maintenance, i even ran out of regular gas and ran it on two stroke for a while, and on two stroke it starts on the very first pull. oh and i ran it on rum. (it was almost dark i ran out of gas completely and i had the back lawn to finish up. and i didn`t have gas money, it ran okay on rum, the exhaust smelled good too) briggs rocks!
the worst part of these mowers is the poorly designed steering bar that doesnt adjust while the tension knobs pop off when you attempt to move the steering bar up or down
