the zeros, slamhound, big bang babies, glamour punks, rebel rebel, heart throb mob and willow wisp were the 90's answer to heavy music. they all lacked writing skills though. no classic material. like crue, kiss, ratt, metallica.
@lester5192 you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry buddy. I can't speak for Sam, but I know that the lead guitarist is an excellent scholarly writer. Want to check my credentials?
@sophisticatedmay if you are talking about the zero's then you are wrong. if a band like that had even one hit song in the early 90's then the major labels would have found out, especially if the song was played on the local radio show on Sundays. the band already had the talent, classic original look, showmanship, connections, band name, member names, everything over the top. except a song with exceptional hook and lyrics that would have charted for sure. nobody cares about your credentials.
@lester5192 Yes I'm talking about the Zero's and I'm not wrong. You indicated that they "all" lack writing skills and I can speak for at least one band member that you are wrong. If you knew anything about group dynamics, you would see that it only took one band member to hold everyone back. So Mr. nobody, you can't write either. When my children were in 5 years old, they knew that the first letter at the beginning of a sentence was capital.
@sophisticatedmay lol anyone who cares about geek shit like caps on you tube posts must not know what they are talking about, loser. since you are the only one interested in this and think you know so much. tell me what their all time classic song would be then? not your personal favorite, but the one you'd bet your money on for being their biggest radio and tv hit so i can listen to it. unless the band didn't want to get signed and rejected it in l.a. then nothing would have sopped them if...
@lester5192 Well excuse me for being so particular, but in my line of work, if I make a mistake, a death can occur. Words like "geek sh*t” and calling other people names like loser shows me right where you are in life. How unfortunate. If you want my professional opinion, I charge by the ICD code. If you are interested in my stated opinion, read my previous posts. Have a nice day!
@sophisticatedmay you call people names yourself and then complain when others give it back. hmmm. you keep trying to convince someone you have such great job and life when that isn't the topic here, and as i expected you can't name a zero's song like i mentioned and won't.
@lester5192 You know, I like you lester, you're the only person I know that isn't afraid of wasting my time. heheheheh. I've known the Zero's before they formed; I guess that is why it is so interesting to me. So what are you looking for? I know their first song...I believe it was Pretty Women, and then Count to 8, and they opened for Howard S-T-E-R-N. You know there was just something magical way back then. Alright, enough about me. Sorry if I insulted you. ;P
@sophisticatedmay i'm kind of new to youtube and since being on i have been able to see all these 90's l.a. local bands that never really made it to mainstream success. some are still around oddly enough, so i question why did they never make it. my only guess is they didn't write the catchy tunes. if the zero's had the same songs as lets say weezer had that made them famous. the zero's would have been huge i think.
@lester5192 Now see, the zero's lead guitarist hates Weezer. I trust that Joe is right because I can remember he had an extremely high IQ. There is some type of phenomenon that this repetitive lyric or beat has such as in the tunes of Lady GaGa that capture an audience but quickly fade. The Zeros were unique but let's think about the types of individuals going to gigs-and no offence if you're one of them-but they are just not cerebral thinkers. We should start a Zero’s commentator news room
@mihailolukicslashfan Tell your dad David Purdy says hi. I used to be in a band with your dad and Danny back around high school. We all went to high school together, your uncle Butch to. I think it was Danny's first band ever. Thanks for responding it brought back good memories. PS I loved The Zeros
No. "The Mexican Ramone" Zeros (featuring Robert Lopez later known as EL VEZ, "The Mexican Elvis") were before these Zeros. There was a UK Zeros around the same time. Both were disbanded before these Zeros came along.
hey this is my show i recorded, did you take this from the guys from pretty boy floyd, because only 2 copies were out,my original 8mm and a video vhs tape with pbf... the same show when the zeros opened up for pbf
