China has come under heavy criticism in recent years for continuing to allow it's zoos to use live animals as bait. The fault does not lie with the tigers, after all they are predators and it's in their nature to hunt and kill, which they do in the wild.
But there is a big difference between a predator stalking prey in the jungle or out on the plains, and having prey dump right in front of them with NO chance for the prey to run or defend itself and therein lies the cruelty of these places...

I don't know why people see feeding alive animals as inhuman... the zoo need to train the tigers to kill and they are doing the right thing, the only thing that those zoo keepers got wrong is that they shouldn't just throw a cow in front of the tigers, which is not a very good hunting practise for tigers.

China has come under heavy criticism in recent years for continuing to allow it's zoos to use live animals as bait. The fault does not lie with the tigers, after all they are predators and it's in their nature to hunt and kill, which they do in the wild.
But there is a big difference between a predator stalking prey in the jungle or out on the plains, and having prey dump right in front of them with NO chance for the prey to run or defend itself and therein lies the cruelty of these places...
