Believe it or not, I studied Keith Moon a LOT and it turns out that he was actually a very delicate player power-wise. He just hit a lot of things fast and often and it sounded bombastic. I got my power from studying Stewart Copeland who is one of the hardest hitting drummers of all time. Find some old live Police videos and watch what I mean. One that comes to mind is "Driven To Tears" live in Frejus, France. Find that one. WOW!

@n8doggs I suggest getting a normal set with mutes. Electric sets aren't meant to emulate acoustic kits too well because if you want an acoustic sound, you should just get an acoustic.
