Since 1960, USC has far more Pro Bowlers, far more HOFers, and far more Super Bowl champs while practically matching Notre Dame for players drafted.

With Seau a sure HOFer, Keyshawn a likely HOFer, and Palmer, Polamalu, and Tatupu just about halfway through likely HOF careers; there is no doubt, USC is number one.

Joel, you know the honks in the Special Education Conference will whine and complain that Auburn and Arkansas were inferior teams, yet we beat them by a wider margin than their conference opponents, all one has to do is look up the stats. They need to face it, we beat those teams all the while rotating our third string plays!

P.S. Add to the glory, USC is one of the fastest raising academic programs (top 30)in the country...one could say that makes us stronger and smarter!

If USC is so superior to the SEC....than why has the SEC won the national title the past 2 years while USC has chocked against teams with barely .500 records during the regular season? Ok....you beat Auburn and Arkansas....oh lawd! Come play some SEC teams that have actually had great success lately like Florida, LSU or Georgia and see if you blow them out by 30 points. The discussion here is all time programs, we have more FB HOFers than any other university, that is the true legacy of a great program. Unlike any team in the SEC, we have a tradition of playing anyone, anytime, any where, and that began when we tapped on the shoulder of the biggest dog in CFB, Notre Dame 80 years ago, for the first intersection rivalry in the history of CFB. The SEC does not have that tradition, therefore, all your points moot.

SC lost their entire Defense from the year before. Sean Cody, Mike Patterson, Manuel Wright, Matt Groedegood, and Lofa Tatupu. The 05 just had more publicity but the 04 was by far the best. Texas was one and done.
