  • My computer just got faster by watching this :D

  • imagine bf 3 on this computer ...

  • Can I connect this to my computer ? ........ Actually, I'm not going to risk it EXPLODING !!! xD

  • to all you who wanna play games

    YOU CAN

it has WINE and with that kind of power i don't think there will be ANY performance issues haha

maybe a couple graphics issues but NO speed issues

  • @timpster93 No you cant :p. Most applications (including games) aren't made to run in such high level of parallelism. It is not a single system where you log in and install your programs on. Creating a application for it will require special libraries, toolboxes, api's, ... . So if you try to install a game on the "system" you will end up in completely reprogramming the game.

  • How much?...

  • It Runs Linux, that just broke my heart.

  • @legoman65889 they use linux because its an open source os thats used for alot of large server based computers and its really good for programming, this isnt a computer for 1 person its being used at a lab

  • I wish I had one of those to play games on

  • Bet it can't play Crysis on max though lol

  • i type in, fastest computer in the world 2011 i see this, and this video is posted in 2008 -.-

  • Lol i was gonna post something about minecraft... I want to see this computers fps on minecraft

  • But can it run minecraft (FOR MORE THEN 2 MINUTES

  • will it blend?

  • it only came with 64mb ram so is uterly useless

  • At some point I should be able to enter my brain into the computer system. All I need is 254K of memory. LoLz!

  • Can you run minesweeper on it ?

  • HOLY F**K, that's excessively fast. i wanna use worldedit to spawn 2 million TNT in minecraft, then blow them up on it. and of course, they have Linux on it...

  • wtf happened to the ps3

  • @Ryan23251 Your an ignorant fuck.

  • Buuut Will it Blend?

  • With what it takes to cool it probably

  • @SuperDoNotforget BLEND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'd like to see TNT on minecraft.

  • but the problem is.... i don't think it can handle the download of my 1 kb world document :(!!!!

  • Can this...run on the road?

  • will it tun minecraft?

  • banksalanks

  • I cant believe they spend all the money just to play minesweeper

  • soon , we will need this computer to run today games

  • but will it ble... shut the fu*k up

  • That's cool, but can it run Crysis?

  • fastest computer in the future will be the computer with the new man made or grown super diamond circuit board based mico chiped computer wich is still in development.can pass electricity through the diamond faster that any other material on the planet.

  • @THEKILLERQP Doubt it, they are working on laser data transmission, getting rid of conductors all together.

  • man IBM is just a beast they are the innovators of most modern cpu's. Believe it or not IBM actually had the first multicore cpu(most believe it was AMD). These guys really know what they are doing but i just dont understand why they wont go into the consumer market, yeah the commercial gets over 10-100x more profit but the little guys like to get nice things too. I wouldnt mind having a cell cpu server to play with, and yes i have a ps3 but its not fun to program for.

  • @decimat777 They don't go into the consumer market because they do not develop x86 processors. Since Windows, which is about 95% of that environment, supports x86 only, and Mac OS (huge part of the remaining percentage) is a closed platform which currently only uses Intel x86 processors, there is nearly no customer base for IBM processors.

  • @NewLynxS I must correct myself, "why they wont go [more into the consumer market]" The ps3 was a fine example of what they can do. I dont mean to be rude but actually the ARM architecture is now becoming one of the largest cpu architectures in the world surpassing by far intel and AMD in total sales and market value. Im sure you know theyre in pretty much everything. IBM used to make the cpu's for apple and the powerpc outperformed intel for a long time at 2/3 the speed. Its not impossible

  • @NewLynxS As far as windows i believe the next edition(base kernal) is similar to a linux/unix platform(so ive heard) which why it is now compatible with ARM(logical reason right?) If thats true this new OS could (in theory) function on a cell processor and or IBM future cpu's. Im not trying to endorse IBM or anything but i like competitive business because it helps people like me afford higher quality parts at a fraction of intels current costs. ARM is an example of that price drop from intel.

  • to be fair i try to own a product from all current cpu makers(some are really hard to get your hands on these days) so all im hoping for is more competition for intel than AMD(currently on a lost agenda lol) ARM is doing that especially when M$ said that win8 would support ARM. Intel took extra steps to make sure they were ahead of the game and in a reasonable price range, but theres one company who has 3x more resources and development and thats IBM. If only if only...

  • @decimat777 IBM doesn't develop ARM processors either. Thinking that way, it's ARM Holdings and Qualcomm who are threatening Intel. Besides, so far the ARM architecture has only proven itself useful for low-power systems like smartphones and tablets. On the PC market, they don't compete with Intel and AMD at all. And while Windows 8 will support ARM, it still won't support IBM's PowerPC and/or POWER7 architectures.

  • @decimat777 Continued...

And while IBM does have more resources (a bit under twice as much, according to Wikipedia), it also has a much broader range of products compared to Intel. The latter has the freedom to invest most of it's R&D budget on its flagship microchip lineups, while IBM has to divide it between its many microarchitectures, plus all the other product lines such as server components, storage solutions, network solutions and enterprise software.

  • What do they even use it for??

  • But can it divide by zero?

  • But will it blend?

  • I wanna see this thing play minecraft while blowing up bedrock.

  • That PS3 controller looked weird

  • I bet all that will be in a laptop by 2020!

  • still cant run minecraft

  • Vendido por 2,8 millones de euros el Aston Martin de James Bond

  • You won't find any of these in Apple®

  • That's my computer :)

    Just a joke..

  • Kind of funny that it is talking about the best computer, in crap quality.

  • ill bet u a million bucks that the guy in the striped shirt has not and will not EVER EVER EVER EVER get laid

  • Choo-Choo train at 0:44.

  • nerds porn......

  • i am from the future! my nokia n1230101010654 is twice as powerfull as this!

  • nope jaguar has 4.29 peat but this is 2011 anyway now

  • all this power but no screen/monitor.

  • @mickycheese27 it's used as a server, which other computers will use as part of a network.

  • @sosep7630 you do know that network connections also have information transfer limitations. Google uses 13 petaflops to store its data every day this makes this computer look like a mobile phone compared to what Google's handling. enlighten me if I'm wrong or incorrect.

  • @mickycheese27 i dont understand... are you saying its incapable of being a server? because there are computers out there that are used as servers and are a lot smaller then this computer. . some examples like a home server, business servers and school servers.. this seems like its more then capable. maybe not on a mass scale like google of course but still..

  • @mickycheese27 It is rumored that Google handles 13 Petabytes of data transfer daily, not 13 PetaFLOPS. This is a measure of network bandwidth/usage, not processing power.

  • @NewLynxS Thanks for pointing out the typo

  • what a burn the world fast computer does not run on windows linux owns windows now

  • Wait so the P3 Right now is dead on top of it self with hacks. So this IBM computer = Ps3, then that means...

... Oh No.... Quickly, we need to call the president!

But it is too late, trillions of hours of porn have already be downloaded onto Road Runner.

  • @mooman219 Roadrunner was built with IBM QS22 (which use PowerXCell 8i, not the standard Cell used on the PS3) and LS21 (AMD Opteron) server blades. It has no relationship with the Playstation 3 whatsoever.

  • But will it run Crysis?

  • @JHAAMYEESS i know i was just teasing, i think they use it for military stuff so i am fine with whatever it does

  • want to play space invaders on that

  • what a waste it should be for black ops!

  • 0:15 lol i thought he said paedophile

  • wats the fps in crysis?

  • @Bobbyjoesnose .001

  • so IBM has a road runner, so MICROSOFT must have a coyote that try's very hard to catch up with the roadrunner ^^

  • BUT WILL IT BLEND!

  • Chuck Jones invented it?

  • @4131025 PHAAAAAIL

  • imagine playing minecraft with a million tnt on that

  • i wiil run faster with ubuntu 10.10 netbook ed. lol

  • But can it run Crysis? =3

  • Rockstar need to get hold of this beast, then they can make a server for all of the people in the world who own GTA 4. Man chaos and no lag.

  • @LulzCrafter Unix

  • Funny how in a few decades your phone will be more powerful than this. lool

  • where is intel cpu the failing? lol and the are crying that intel is the best wow i dont think so.

  • my phone is faster than this

  • imagine it playing 20 crysis 2 application at the same time!!

  • imagine it playing 20 crysi 2 application at the same time!!

  • But will it blend?

  • but will it Play pong?

  • but will it blend?

  • @BuhnanaFone LOL, much better than the tired old crysis joke.

  • fastest computer in the world... *10 years later* guy1:"fuck my phone is running so damn slow, i'm only getting 30 petaflops!" guy2:"wow sucks for you"

  • @csos95 More like 100 years :p.

  • pacman would run soooooooo slow ontihs

  • Can I play Mario on it ?

  • i bet minecraft will run good on this lol

  • LINUX!

  • @funkydoran so what if they made it out of ps3 parts?

  • my computer has a yotabyte of memory... lots and lots of external harddrives attached.... look it up

  • All this power!!! could you imagine if this thing ran +windows+?... It probably would boot up with a error message stating "Your computer doesn't meet the minimal requirments to run this program" please contact your Virtual Reality System Administrator....

  • Hello Everybody I was told this is the place to get the porn

  • but will it blend???

  • @CurlyisconfusedXD probably not

  • o yea? but can it make toast?

  • Runs with Linux, not Windows!

  • But, How fast will it Blend?

  • Pfft my PC computes at 30 zettaflops! 2-e-z!

  • But can it run crysis 2 HD

  • How much did this cost?

  • @DANnJORDAN 130 mil $

  • *insert Crysis joke here*

  • i wonder will this run pac- man

  • @MrDaRoflcopter Whoa dude that would be crazy if it could my previous comp exploded from high cpu-usage when handling pacman...if it could however it would lag too much.

  • I wanna play Crysis :(

  • @moneys97 fuck crysis

  • @0ddzZz F**K your Mom

  • ok but can it play doom ?

  • dont worry about skynet worry about IBM!

  • @MrAwsomemakers ahaha yeah!

  • Skynet here we come.

  • so how much porn can i download in a hour?

  • yes but, will it blend?

  • @TheLaker887 LOL!

  • @TheLaker887 you meed to take it into pieces first! That will last...10 years?

  • too bad blue waters computer does 10 petaflops

  • @gmauler4life and who the and what the &^%$ can do that without creating a black hole

  • You could crack a 128bit hash in like 0.15 seconds

  • i would imagine that this super computer runs on the similar cell techology just like the Playstation 3 does.I mean obvoiusly the roadrunner has muliple vastly more powerful cells inside of it than the ps3 does but the basic idea of cell techology in both machines are similar.Cell techology is gonna be the way of the future for computing im certain of that.when you think about It just goes to show how ahead of its time the PS3 actualely is.

  • @TheDevineBeing IBM has already discontinued the Cell lineup. That means, while IBM will still produce Cell and PowerXCell 8i processors for the current products (PS3 and QS2x blades, mostly), there will be no new versions of Cell in the future.

  • 133 milli dollars. Bill gates what are you doin with those 50 billion gaian?

  • Yes but one question ...will it run crysis?

  • @hawtman64 of course

  • In the video the narrator says 'it's been designed to handle a broad spectrum of scientific and commercial challenges'. Whilst i find this video quite fascinating, what is this machine going to actually do?

  • and that tells you why the ps3is better than xbox 360 a million times

  • @bombaway12 Only poor people argue about witch one is better.

  • @xblizkx need to update this clip the fastest computer is china now 50X faster then usa fastest it own country lol

  • @xblizkx Yes, the last thing we need are console fanboy arguments on every single technology-related video on the Internet.

  • all the porn in the world. IN MY HANDS WITH THIS COMPUTER WOO.

  • its using playstation 3 parts :D

  • roadrunner is also my cable service?

  • but the question is... will it blend?

  • man thats alot of porn

  • Can it run pacman?

  • At least this should run vista properly.

  • pretty nice, but can it run crysis?

  • Can it blend?? That is the question!!

  • i would liked to play GTA IV on that pc

  • WTF!?! running Linux?? dude...

  • A pedoflop? Wtf?

  • the guy speaking looks like an alien????

  • Lol linux

  • i buyed 10 Mb/s and gets 200Kb/s to 1.4 Mb/s.

    hate it! XD

  • How fast can it download porn?

  • @d3adman1142 56kbps

  • yeah... but how can you tell this supercomputer to do 1 thousand trillion tasks in a second?

I just wondering why is the super computer invented anyway?

It is really way over what we can do, therefore a waste of money.

People really making supercomputers ultra-fast that is too fast for us to take the advantage.

But they hardly make ordinary computers fast!!! Why can't they make fast ordinary computers? So much people own an ordinary computer but about 1% own supercomputers.

  • @huashengdou9799 Its for people like me that want to play WoW.

  • @VizUalxUnited yeah, haha

  • But can it play GTA 4 ?...

  • good job its not a mac or all of its power will be wasted on itunes...

  • what a bunch of fools what a bunch of idiots!

using this super computer to do science shit, if i had this

    I would be playing games

  • my cell phone has a stronger CPU then this

  • This computers make HD porn, Respect!

  • Ps3 has the cell chip THUMBS UP

  • I wanna play crisis on extreme settings on that computer :P

  • @moneys97 Considering the lack of any kind of hardware graphics processing it would probably run terribly.

  • @TonkatrainHONKHONK The high processing power makes up for the lack of graphics pipelines. Crysis would indeed run extremely well, as long as it's adapted to address the enormous number of threads Roadrunner has (the original game only uses two).

Pixar, for example, uses a 256-core Xeon workstation, yet it renders much faster than current GPUs do.

  • in 20 years, a portable device will have this power ;)

  • @black0hat

    Yeah, probably will.

  • Comment removed

  • Wait soo...how much porn?

  • @hawkd68 LMFAO u legend! i pissed myslef when i read this :-D

  • @hawkd68 1 petaflop

  • @hawkd68 Every single video on the internet, and it wouldnt make the tiniest dent.

  • I think this is the same one that Topalov beat at chess recently.

  • in 35 years from now everything we think is 'wow , cool!' will be 'meh, whatever.'

  • @seasonsbleed more like less then a year from now

  • ahh could this run crysis on high cos mine is abit laggy
