I have this and several other clocks on this DVD, I often play them between movies in our home theater. Everyone loves them. Makes me want to go right out for a pack of cigarettes and I don't even smoke.....it's the one thing I tell people our "Snack Bar" doesn't carry. BTW: If you're interested, this DVD is usually on e-bay.
Sorry, that's not Ken Roberts. This fellow has an accent ("the next show will stot in.."), and Roberts did not. Roberts would've pronounced those R's hard.
Your announcer is New York radio/TV veteran Ken Roberts, who often recorded voice tracks for these theatrical "intermissions", as well as dozens of "trailers"...this is a 1954 "countdown" [note the ad for the "'54 Ford" at 5:16], with "national" sponsors; usually, local businesses hawked their services during these "clocks", so this one's a rarity...
This intermission is sponsered by Ford,GE,General Tire,Milk Bone dog biscuits,Florshiem Shoes,John-Mansville,Eythl Gasoline,Goodyear Double Eagle batteries,Barcalounger,B.F. GOODRICH,Cushion Topper,Scott-Atwater outboard motors,Sylvania,North American van lines, your local house of worship,The American Red Cross,U.S. Savings Bonds,Old Gold cigarettes,Amanda,Texaco-Havoline motor oil,Crane plumbing & Bactine.
I love the old stock music cues used..much like that on fifties black and white television shows..or Ren and Stimpy shows occaisonally.
