personally. if you can play and hit the toms in the center of head, that shows even better coordination of drumming. and when you got small ass toms like this guy, clean/
guitar tone is terrible.. a bit thin.. but the drums are fantastic! good groove, good feel.. great rhythm.. and since that's what this video is all about, A+!!
You are a solid drummer, now just hit a little harder and you will be sooo much better. That snare drum and those cymbals could SING, just give'em some ooomph
Sweet drumming! Nice grooving, no styling or so, just supporting the music and putting in some impressive fills (that actually fit the music well too)! 5/5
great drumming but it would be better if challenge ur self a lil bit more and for anybody that wants to c a bigger (much bigger!) kit than this go drummerdbrown's page he is an awesome drummer hes friken insane!!!!!!
i like coated heads because they give a warmer sound and they have less overtones, that people usually dampen with tape in clear heads, altough I sometimes buy clear heads if i need a more agressive sound.
with sticks I like nylon because they give you a more sparkly sound and if you do fast stuff with hi hats, they sound clearer. I really dont use wood tips.
awesome, i play a Tama starclassic performer, and also use evans heads, im tryin get a new bass head, and everyone says aquarian superkick II is good so i might take them up on that lol, cool man thanks!!!
well Evans makes the EMAD bass drum head, that sound pretty good and has dampening rings like the super kick II but they are removable so check that one out ...
Basically good room, nice compressor thats not wavey and noisy, and mics! Also a mixer with good tone, low noise and full eq helps. Move mics around till they sound the best. Phase one of your snare mics too, since their pointing towards eachother, or else they sound weird! (That's using a phase switch on mixer for top or bottom snare mic channel.) I know too because I record drums. Presonus makes a sweet 8 channel compressor too.
yea :D I mean't like a carpet rolled like a tunnel in front of the bassdrum to add more length to the bassdrum. And then a microfone is added to the end of the "tunnel" and also inside the bassdrum. It gives the bass some more kick, or so i have heard. the tunnel has to be made out of some soft material
Good job. Great sound. Keep up the good work.

Hector, congrads -good solid drumming not just alot of noise like most drum vids i see.
Your a good hitter not killing the drums but making them sing I like your style and your timeing is very good.
Keep up the good work.

hegnirst 4 years ago
I bascially just roll off some mids and add some highs and lows at about 12k and 100hz
and just a bit of compression on the main drum bus
rockstarstudios 4 years ago
Nice Sound. How do you get your Kick to sound like that? Do you use any kind of compressors or gear like that?
mjdeben1 4 years ago
you should play better songs if you have that kind of drum kit.

what do u think is better coated heads or clear heads
and nylon or wood tip sticks
bloodbath78666 4 years ago
hey thanks for the comment

You seem like someone who is into Gavin Harison and Porcupine Tree. Am I right? Oh and the obvious Mike Portnoy influences are there too.

Hi, thanks for the comment.
I use a Tama RockStar set and I mainly use Evans Heads for the toms and the snare except for the Bass drum. I use an Aquarian Super Kick II

hey how do u get your drums to sound like that please tell me
i always wanted like really nice drum sounds
fishdrum1x1x 4 years ago
Just a good set of mics, I'd say!
MrJohnCool 4 years ago
thanks for the comment.
The 3 basic things you need are:
1)Good Set of Drums and Cymbals
2)Good Mic's (you can get away with 2 nice overheads a good Bass Drum mic and a sm57 for snare)
3)Good Pre-amps
that will give you a good recording to work with
then just add the Eq's, compressors etc
rockstarstudios 4 years ago
yer i but i wanna no how u make them souns like they fade awad like dummmm mine just sound like nicko mcbrains
