Definitely lani is good when it comes to singing, I think you're mistaken for saying that lani is imitating the voice of whitney, its just happened that lani's voice is closer to whitney aside from the fact that lani has this powerful voice like whitney that's why a lot of people said that lani will be the next whitney houston, and one more thing lani is truly incredible she can sing operatic, broadway, rnb and even rock at the same time.
1. Vibrato naturally comes when singing is relaxed. One can't just imitate another singer's vibrato. Unnatural or fake vibrato is unhealthy and improper. I doubt Lani would like to harm her voice.
2. Lani's vibrato, timbre, and overall voice quality are the same in perhaps all of her songs. It "just so happened" that they seem to sound like Whitney's whenever Lani sings Whitney's songs.
3. Lani actually has her own version of "I Will Always Love You". She sings it at her Las Vegas show.

To Seedteh: Sometime in the past, Lani actually sang "Loving You" the same way Minnie Riperton usually did. She can do it, but it's not something she can do everyday, especially in a morning talk show like this (which is JUST a talk show).
Anyway, it doesn't matter to me if Lani can't (or doesn't want to) sing at a higher key. Her voice is soothing, "thick", powerful, and smooth. It's "classy" and "soulful". And, by not shouting or belting, she doesn't give me a headache. Beautiful. Elegant.

to all of you let me straighten this, that was clearly a head-tone. she didn't whistle because it'll irritate her vocal chords once she does the next number. it's obvious to belt something out after you've registered your voice into whistle. fyi. it's easier to cascade up rather than drop to a lower key.
What I love about Lani is that she doesn't sing a certain song the same way twice. That's why I'm always looking forward to her performances. And she has sung Loving You LIVE about 35791561 times. (Okay, I'm exaggerating, lol) But my point is, ang boring naman if she sings it the usual way lagi. =P

She made a slight sharp at 4:02 while singing the word "joy".
The entirety of her singing was effortless, though. And she sounded nearly as good and versatile as Whitney, much closer to Whitney than Charice.
IMO, she's much better than Charice in terms of vocal flexibility and "fluidity" and "naturalness" of vibrato.

Magaling naman talaga sa belting (biritan) si Regine. She's an excellent singer, but Lani can teach her a thing or two. Natural talent kc ang meron si Lani, and her singing style is at least safer than Regine's. Belting is very dangerous and unhealthy. Swerte ni Regine at di pa kumukupas yung boses nya.

Whitney does plenty of whistle notes over her career. Listen to Whitney 1983-1987 part two video on you tube. She does the same technique as Lani in this video in Nobody Loves Me.... Also she does a whistle in Kolding 1993 All the Man I Need on here and Brunei 1996 IWDWS she goes to a Bb6. Whitney can sing very very very high in prime!

1. Vibrato naturally comes when singing is relaxed. One can't just imitate another singer's vibrato. Unnatural or fake vibrato is unhealthy and improper. I doubt Lani would like to harm her voice.
2. Lani's vibrato, timbre, and overall voice quality are the same in perhaps all of her songs. It "just so happened" that they seem to sound like Whitney's whenever Lani sings Whitney's songs.
3. Lani actually has her own version of "I Will Always Love You". She sings it at her Las Vegas show.

To Seedteh: Sometime in the past, Lani actually sang "Loving You" the same way Minnie Riperton usually did. She can do it, but it's not something she can do everyday, especially in a morning talk show like this (which is JUST a talk show).
Anyway, it doesn't matter to me if Lani can't (or doesn't want to) sing at a higher key. Her voice is soothing, "thick", powerful, and smooth. It's "classy" and "soulful". And, by not shouting or belting, she doesn't give me a headache. Beautiful. Elegant.

to all of you let me straighten this, that was clearly a head-tone. she didn't whistle because it'll irritate her vocal chords once she does the next number. it's obvious to belt something out after you've registered your voice into whistle. fyi. it's easier to cascade up rather than drop to a lower key.
