  • Is it Lards animal sanctuary????????

  • You know what you wanna do with that, right?

You wanna put a bangin' donk on it.

  • MUST GET SOME OIL FOR THAT DOOR!!!

  • Never heard of him

  • Have recently picked up a 2nd hand copy of Radcliffes book Thank you For The Days and in it he mentioned this episode in his life. Had to check it out for real. Great stuff!!!

  • And he won, nice to see this again, was a laugh the first time and still is.

  • Like the west country twang!

  • Sounds more like Spider Stacey than anything else.

  • Just read the chapter "The Day I Was On Stars In Their Eyes" from Mark's Thank You For The Days autobiography so I had to look this up. (Cracking read by the way)

  • Love Marc Radcliffe - the sort of chap you'd want to be stuck in a pub with

  • ha ha

as mark says in his book

a bloke youve never heard of

doing a bloke youve never heard of

  • the guy on the fiddle looks like frank skinner ha

  • Loved reading about this in Mark's book 'Thank You For The Days' and, given that Mark has met and interviewed Shane a couple of times and quite hit it off, I'm sure Shane would find this hilarious. Big fan of Radcliffe, what a lovely bloke.

  • @MissAlabaster Yeah, I was reading his book, which is a very good read, and I read that he was Shane MacGowan on Stars In Their Eyes, and I thought, 'This I have to see.' and he doesa brill impression :)

  • the audio is shit here...:-(

  • mark describes this as the 'highlight of his career'

  • Shane actually said he loved it...

  • First class job Mark... so it is.. :-)

Shane probably saw this & pished his togs laughing like the rest of us!

  • if its not, i wonder if she will let me borrow it when shes not using it heh heh.

  • Legend. Used to love Mark & Lard, and the Shirehorses. Radcliffe & Marconie is good tho.

  • ssshhhcccchhhhhhhhh fuck the yanks and drink their wives hahahahaha

  • ...chicken ;)

  • If he really wanted to look authenthic he should have knocked his foretheeth out ;)

  • Hilarious but great performance. Nice of ITV to show some good entertainment for once and a while.Happy Birthday for today Mark and have a good one!

  • hes not a pratt hes cool. hes taking the piss you dick. let me guess your american.

  • The most exciting saturday nite telly ive seen in about 10 years

  • Fucking hell i hate cat deely

    Shane Mac=Legend

  • nancy whiskey=deluded slut

  • How mature of you :)

  • Obviously went straight over your head. Spend a little time listening to old Radio one stuff by mark and lard and you'll soon understand.

  • i thought it was decent, it sounds like someone singing in a bar

  • possibly far too nourished, on food rather than drink, to really be "the man". i like Mark Radcliffe though, and he does an honest and respectful tribute.

  • its pretty hard to sing like shane with a full mouth of teeth, great job!

  • Haha :)

  • i really loved it!!

  • he sounds nothin like shane.

At least he picked somebody worthwhile to try n be!

  • Read Radcliffes book "Entertainment Diary of a Rock and Roll Nobody" Hilarious

  • Is it just me or does Mark make a very subtle change of lyrics.

The original has a line that goes "And a man from Westmeath called Malone" and i'm sure that in this version he sings "And a man from Westmeath called Mahone"

Sounds like a shameless plug to me Mark!!!!

Seriously though if you can check out The Family Mahone, awesome live performance and a great laugh. Just don't drive.

  • haha, in irish, that would roughly be "a man from westmeath called ass"

  • Gosh, you don't make fun of or laugh at Shane MacGowan...

  • he's not drunk enough to be shane

  • like to see any of y'all go and try it... god its only meant to be for laughs for god sake get a life.

  • Do you have the results? I know he won, but I wouldn't mind seeing his reaction.

  • shane macgowan was not born in england you silly man

  • Actually..he was born in england.Kent to be exact when his prents were visiting friends around xmas.

  • tunbridge wells to be precise

  • ....'Set the controls for..wherever you are' ...orrghh yeshh.....Mark Radcliffe is a big hero of mine, though he looks more like Dennis Pennis in this clip....

  • phronsias, shane was actually born in tunbridge wells, so hes london irish. thats why he concentrates a lot of his songs about the irish in london.

  • eerm no.

    this is shit.

shane is the one and only =]

  • BLASPHEMOUS!!

  • Is it just me or does his impression of shane macgowan look more like joe pesquale???

  • Radcliffe's radio shows are awesome! :) Really funny and great music.

  • THIS MARK CAN'T FUCKING SING

  • this guy looks more like rod stewart :S

  • There is only one Shane MacGowan

  • Sacrilege

  • too sober to be shane

  • He sounds like Les Dawson on a bender!

  • You don't have to bellow!!!!

  • Mushn't grrrrumble

  • I was havin' a drrriink then!

  • @webstercat1971 Stop.... Carry On!

  • mark radliffe is a legend.

  • agreed!!!

  • ....could you back off the mike a bit please!!!!

  • fockin pathetic this blogue is lucky shane doesnt have a computer

  • Not as embarrasing as I thought it would be!

  • He screams to much... Shane has a more mumbling voice...

  • Agreed. But the gait is dead on.

  • Oh dear... he sounds nothing like good old Shane. What's the game?

  • great to see it, as I missed it on TV. Thanks.

  • Sorry man but I've never heard of Family Mahone...been living in The States 10 yrs so i must have missed out.

  • I just hope Shane didn't have to watch that rubbish..terrible attempt at an Irish accent which Shane doesn't even have..sounded nothing like the Man.

  • There speaks somneone who has never seen The Family Mahone... and so has never seen Radcliffe "loosened up"

  • Yeah but that first bit isn't sung by Shane, it's sung by the lead singer of the Dubliners, who is irish. He doesn't do too bad really.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I had heard about it but was unable to see it, because I am in the U.S.A. Thsnks very much I really appreciate it.

  • whose the blond?

  • Fabulous! Thanks for posting it!

  • thanks.

  • Just trying to keep the dream alive...

  • cheers for puttin this up. missed it when it was on.
