saw these guys at grey fox last summer, i was so excited to see them but i don't remember there set at all, gotta see them soon any one no any shows or festies of theres coming up
i think observation man has A very good point that we should all consider. It is kinda 97.1 simple, easy listening music that isnt nessecarly deeply intricate or crazy that really gets you thinking like some of the stuff in the past. But, these guys are great for the kind of music they play, you cant say that isn't true.
This is a John Hartford tune...not something the skullclub screwfaced republicans would use as a took to make our heads bob...or throw away shit. They are great musicians...not my thang and there is a flux of neo-grass that sprung up...blame it on west coast fads and fashion...actually,I dont blame it on anyone... John Hartford was a gadd'ang PIMP!
naw im calling you a fag cause you talk like a fag nobody gives a shit about your lame opinion or how many concerts you've gone too maybe if your comment wasn't clearly insulting i wouldn't think that but otherwise your just a douche bag
Music has become soooooooo pathetically ordinary, predictable, and safe. I'm sick of it. Musicians need to start taking drugs again because this is ridiculous. I'm serious, this is lame. Take some acid or something.
@spiff195 No, just pathetically average. Trust me, I've seen thousands of concerts, I know what I'm talking about. These guys are typical of modern music - it is designed to appeal to your sweet tooth, but not your intellect or your guts or your soul.
@observationman modern radio played music is pathetic but these guys can play i've seen about a dozen of there shows and they amaze me everytime every show is original and they never fail to get the entire crowd moving and to say the music doesn't speak to the soul proves youdon't listened to the music
Holy lord!!!! I was at this show with the worst hangover ever. I remember sitting on the top level when they played this trying to drink a redbull and whiskey trying to cure the headache. Wow, this was my favorite part of this show and one of my favorite YMSB moments.
Drove in from Bloomington, IN from the Upland Brewery with my buddy and a gal and eventually the headache went away and Danny Barnes helped that. Thanks for the memories.
Yonder is paving their own path, they are quite talented, and make you shake your ass on the regular. I love every show I see of theirs, and am blessed to live 30 minutes from Horning's Hideout, and have been to every String Summit. If you have not seen these boys, you are missing out
I hope to hear this at walkarusa along with many John hartford tunes. Sure going to miss John out on that mountain ! if your coming to the show illl see you there. Up front with yonder, no vip rope can hold me back . !
I would just like to comment that this is a cover of John Hartford's "Holding" off of Aereoplain... My favorite "newgrass" album ever released. See if you can find a copy, its quite fantastic
Amen Brother/Sister... Theres a video on here of John piloting a boat and playing fiddle/banjo for some passengers... If you haven't seen it, i'd recommend watching it immediately.
gosh, what a killer song! anytime YMSB comes within 200 miles of me, i jsut have gotta see them. anyone else who enjoys fast-ass bluegrass, kind people and bumpin' ho-downs i suggest should see them live...NOW!!
