two years ago, Thanksgiving of 2009, i was in the war of my life. this album--this song particularly--was released at the perfect time. i listened to this song over and over again. "never again" became my motto. i adopted it and thanks to John Mayer, i was able to fight on and i was victorious. now i am as happy as can be. i found the girl i used to see in my dreams. and i will keep fighting on, but this time i will fight to keep her forever.

It's amazing to me how he can capture so much emotion in a few words.  I can relate to everything in this song and know exactly what he is referring to. He really captures the turmoil of the being in your early thirties. He gave me hope when I realized that others are also struggling to wade through all the pain that life brings. He is truly a gifted artist with a beautiful voice.
